Not sure.
I guess that main use of this thing was to get people talking about nokia, and as such it was a 100% success.
And it probably was a rather cheap success. Pretty sure the internals are 99% already existing parts from their long history of dumbphones.

But as an actual device?

Many of their old dumphones had special whatsapp clients. why does this not have one? also: GSM only. I totally agree that it does not need fast data, but wont GSM networks be switched of in many countries soon?

I mean it's cheap, fun and iconic, and if you need a dumphone, that certainly is one to take a closer look at, but to fully ride the meme-train they would have needed to make it monochrome. And then add whatsapp to it. Imagine all the hipster brownie points you'd get when being able to show your friends all those whatsapp memes on a monochrome display! Given their jpg-artifacts, they wouln'T even look much worse!

Seriously, the only thing missing is 3G connection and whatsapp application. Other than that, it's a decent phone. Hell I would consider this a my iphone 4 replacement (I do stuff mostlky on tablet anyways)
