>using an IDE

>pressing more than one key to compile and run your code

It's so great it doesn't even have a working uinstaller.

>t. too dumb to uninstall

Sure thing goyim

b-b-b-but muh freedumbs!

Nice clock Ahmed, wanna bring it to the white house? :^)

>protip you can't.
Then why make a thread you god damn retard?

Oh I uninstalled that piece of shit you manchild. By deleting every single file and registry key related to VS because the uninstaller wouldn't work.

>free
>isn't actually free
Don't misuse terminology.

>46 MB to display a label

is this the power of C#?

Clion free trial masterrace.

your mom brings a lot of baggage to but she's stilll a good girl

>Doesn't cost money
>Not free
Freetards are the worst.

JetBrains represent

seriously, these ruskies are the best

>registry

>Not stealing PHPStorm and Pycharm

But user, I only press 1 button to compile and I use vim

I press one key in vim to do that, the Return key
map :!make run

Debug release + debugger attached.

JetBrains

Use VsVim. It's time to join the pros™ at Microsoft™

My 3d world in Java uses less ram than your shitty clock

>Pajeet doesn't know what a debugger is
Aw, how cute.

plus the 4GB runtime library.

>the word "free" can't be used to describe freedom
>slave after getting out of plantation: "I'm finally free!"
>user takes the dude to his slave dungeon / basement, because he thinks this person doesn't cost anything
Wew

You can get Xcode for free too.

Shit's compiler still reports __cpluplus being 199711 in 2017 and even C99 is not supported.

Suck it, MS.

>requires .net

Call me when I can get it for free without giving them ANY infos about me at all (not even email or something) and can use it commercially without asking anyone.

>you have to install 40 gb worth of sdk to run Visual studio

Why does this software consume so much space?

Xcode is shit
t. iOS Dev

>Visual Studio
>Microshit
>not JetBrains IDE

> what is a disposable email
> can sell programs made with community version

if you're gonna shit on vs, atleast do it well

disgusting slow shit that runs with 500msec latency per click because it runs on a fucking java virtual machine.
into the bin it went within 1 minute.

>I will type 1000 letters and then press enter
>so easy and the same thing
jesus fucking christ, inane

>not using custom license server to activate it

Nice autism, enjoy your inferiour """"""free"""""" software experience or NSA Studios.

sorry, .NET is not technology from the 1950s that does absolutely nothing, it can actually do stuff people need nowadays.

nice not refuting anything.

>t. NSA

You do not understand what free means, nor tons of people in this thread.
Free, is something you get for free, without PAYING any money. Leaving out your email/name is not a payment. So stop being retarded.

even eclipse is better

>my definition of free is valid and yours isnt because i say so
NSA infested thread.

Freeware is proprietary software that is available for use at no monetary cost.

god damn people on this board

Not him, but there is a difference between free software and freeware.
And outside of normie culture, there is genuine confusion when you talk about a program being "free" since it could either mean that its free as in free beer or free as in freedom.

>Oy vey goyim, here take this """"""free"""""" Microsoft™ Windows™ 10 upgrade, we are you greatest ally!

>60GiB installed

Wonder why? Because it's stolen code. They literally steal code from open source projects and jam it into VS without even trying to optimize it, so you end up with a 60GiB text editor that doesn't do anything that vim can't.

Why is this meme repeated here?

I installed VS2017 and it takes 4gb

shoudl've just called it freedomware

You didn't install the whole thing then

Well, duuuuh

I wanted c#, entity framework and sql data tools, that's enough for me

Why would you install everything if you don't use it?

>I am giant winged faggot so i'm gonna install xamarin, unity and complain VS takes 60gb

Eclipse is an unorganized heap of plugins.
But it's still better than VS.

4GiB just for that is astronomical though.

Vim is 2.72 mb

All my plugins for vim don't even come close to 100mb.

GiB != GB

I agree but i don't mind, i get debugger and compiler

Plus i am sane enough not to venture into vim madness

wow you're saying a console based editor is somehow smaller than graphical IDE with a compiler and debugger???

So does things from the 50's, what's your point?

>4gb
What's a "gb"?
gram bit?

They both have the same level of productivity. In fact, I'd argue vim is better because it has more keyboard shortcuts.

How good is the emulation layer? Also what if I wanted something like EasyMotion, what are my options? I"m trying out the one for VSCode that has EasyMotion in the package.

This is a meme. Vim doesn't have more productivity compared to an IDE, modal editing has better productivity for editing code. Modal editing is amazing and highly productive, especially with the right plugins such as EasyMotion and others. However, as an editor, if you took away the modal editing part, vim is a horrible piece of garbage that requires around 50 plugins to be productive, more if you do polyglot programming.

What if you're building a xamarin app dummy?

Windows """GB""" are actually GiB

>cant install it or its add-ons on secondary hard drive

no, its shit. I would use it, but I don't have 80GB of space on my SSD to dedicate just to VS

>40GB

yeah, if you install literally all the optional niche features that you're never going to use

>takes ages to setup all the configurations
>same level of productivity

kek

Overruled

>he needs more than a couple of minutes to set up the configurations

kek

>Tfw can't program Java in Visual Studio

>IDE
fuck off pajeet

Meanwhile in the land of QT...
blog.qt.io/blog/2017/02/20/introducing-qt-3d-studio/

Seriously, the only reason to use windows-only tools is if you want to give exclusivity to Microsoft for free. IMHO if Microsoft wants exclusivity they should pay, there's no reason for developers to lock themselves into their ecosystem just because they was trained into using their tools.

Clearly you're just retarded/
