So what does Sup Forums use to make their time with the command line / text-mode editor not suck?
I generally do a minimum of customization from the defaults of a new system (and typically choose Ubuntu for compatibility reasons), but I switch to bitmapped fonts and always turn the saturation down on the foreground colors. I can't stand mushy-edged vector fonts that never seem to have a scale that they look good on.

No one wants to talk about their terminal set-up?
Colton Garcia
I use zsh with oh-my-zsh as shell. My zsh theme is 'intheloop'. I also use zsh-syntax-highlighting plugin. My favorite terminal emulator is Terminology, because there is no other terminal that has pulsing cursor(not disappearing like in other terminal emulators) and that light from top. Font I use is Consolas.
Noah King
use terminus as font and save yourself some time
Austin Morales
Thanks, I'll give it a try. Seems pretty good so far.
Grayson Smith
Or use gohufont and save yourself some keystrokes.
Carson Adams
All this glowing make it look like a shitty KDE ripoff
Wyatt Campbell
Huh? But it IS kde.
Brody Wilson
Nevermind, I didn't saw your DE/WM At least you are trying to be consistent ...
Alexander Wright
Source Code Pro is nice if you don't want an ancient crusty neckbeard tier bitmap font
Daniel Sanchez
Terminology is part of the enlightenment DE (which desperately try to look as shitty as KDE and #darkasmysoul).
Jace Stewart
xfce4-terminal / terminator + Liberation Mono
Samuel Rivera
Enlightenment is a fine DE.
Jackson Barnes
i use gnome terminal profont bash and nano. everything just works and is easy to use.
Carter Phillips
urxvt, terminus and fish
Moved from bash to fish recently, now I'm not sure why anybody still uses bash, it's like you're deliberately making things more difficult for yourself.
>Solarized + fish = comfy
Matthew Perez
Bash, URxvt, Inconsolata.
Leo Cruz
bash is the default on many distros
Jonathan Thomas
well done captain obvious
Hudson Powell
bash, termite, robotomono
Liam Barnes
Meaning there's already huge traction for bash and many people know how to use it. If you're new to shell, then maybe it's convenient to learn fish, but since most scripts on Linux are ether thin sh or bash, I don't see the point in learning fish.
I use urxvtd + bash + tewi font.
Jayden Hall
dark blue is barely visible
Logan Wilson
Zsh,Gnome Terminal, Inconsolata Go, Regular, set at 13.
Adam Harris
...
Samuel Anderson
xterm default
Angel Evans
Roger. But then just keep bash around and keep scripting with it, you don't need to remove it do you.
Kevin Barnes
ksh, dtterm, whatever comes with CDE.
Christopher White
Visual Studio 2017 RC works well as a fix too.
Levi Jones
Can't post a picture right now, but i use: xfce4-terminal zsh oh-my-zsh, with plugins and themes vim with some plugins
It's really comfy, it was easy to setup and sonetimes i prefer it to graphical environments
Austin Moore
Terminology Noto Mono Fish
Jayden Cooper
Zsh, oh my zsh, and gohufont. Also, get a nice orange-on-black color scheme.
