i don't know about the regular 380, but the 380x is a considerably better card than the 960.

yeah I fucked up, but at the time the 4GB cards were really expensive.

But I only paid for one card, so I didn't get fucked too hard. I'm going to put one in my system at work, and give another to a friend once the 1080ti comes out.

I was very limited on funds at the time when I was upgrading, had to go with Haswell instead of Skylake just to be able to get a new graphics card

this is why I don't want to buy Nvidia gpus anymore

the heat output is a meme honestly, everyone should have a properly ventilated case, and the power thing adds pretty much pennies to your bill since you dont have the card at 100% 24/7

I tried CSGO a while ago and also Cities Skylines, saw a bit of stuttering in Skylines but I'm gonna blame my CPU with that one

I also have an 460 after my 970 shitted on me. Cpu is an 6600k get about 160+ fps on Csgo okay teir not too bad. Overclocking sucks tho not sure if I just got the bottom of the barrel or not tho.

Also, Black Mesa (the newer fan-made Source port of HL1) works ok but not on highest settings. But again, I think the CPU is to blame, not sure

I'm thinking of pairing it with a i3 4160. Performance seems aceptable according to most videos i've seen on youtube.

I'm afraid my motherboard may bottleneck things, considering i've got the bottom of the barrel h81 chipset.

Then again supposedly newer intel microarchitectures have cpu and gpu directly talking to each other so i'm not sure my mobo will make a difference or not.

I need to research this more.
