Xfce or unity?

xfce or unity?

both are bloated, try lxde: more powerful than windows DE and lighter.

xfce
>xfce
>bloated
pick one

unity

xfce doesnt have high dpi scaling
unity does

gnome

>xfce bloated
nigga wtf are you talking about

When I use xubuntu 4 years ago xfce took over 600 MB of ram from start. Meanwhile lxde uses only half of that. XDce use more resources WITHOUT ADDING FUNCTIONALITY comparing to LXDE.

RAM is there to be used

lxde

>Using a DE

user pls, use a tiling window manager like a non-pleb

Xfce if you like screen tearing. Unity if you like to slurp semen

>Unity if you like to slurp semen

Hey not even us fags would stoop so low as to use unity

They all use traditional compositors anyway

> Bombs internally

Just try them and judge for yourself faggot. As in what suits you. Everything else is bullshit.

>xubuntu
dont blame xfce for ubuntus bloat
xfce itself is amazing

Use gnome with docky. Extremely comfy.

Is xfce actually significantly lighter if you install it over a normal Ubuntu installation? I always wondered.

I used to swear by xfce. I tried unity once and found no screen tearing. Tried to go back to xfce but the screen tearing I never noticed before drives me nuts. Tried fixing it with compton and all that. Never fixed so I went back to unity and here I sit.

>carrying about ram usage

xfce isn't bloated. *buntu is.

Fluxbox or GTFO

His PC has 1GB RAM, there's the problem.

You're either too lazy or the dumb to figure out how to fix tearing. It can be fixed without compton.

>took over 600 MB of ram from start
still only uses 7.5% of memory on a typical 8GB system, i think it's fair

MATE or bust

Customizable because GNOME 2, lightweight and generally intuitive interface.

If end-user needs to fix out something like screen tearing it's a fucking failure of a system, sry bud.

>xfce or unity?
Budgie

KDE Neon

...

unity.
