Games are optimized for hyperthreading, not SMT.

It seems quite obvious that there are a ton of firmware bugs and issues in play. SMT shouldn't be outright lowering performance. At worst it should do absolutely nothing. Things should improve with motherboard firmware updates in time.

You are wrong.

Ryzen has a lot of cores, so it's good for workstations.

>Intel CPUs are optimized for gaming, not AMD.

FTFY

but they said it at the presentation that ryzen is good at gaming, hell they even presented comparisons where the amd is faster
you totally forgot about that part didn't you?

You just abstracted up a few levels and said the same thing basically.

Yes, they displayed it on 4k with Vulkan/DX 12 games that are better for high core counts.
Ryzen will lose every time to intel at 1080p.

SMT and HT is a same shit with different name. Now go back to

a) no
b) they're the same fucking thing
c) HT is actually not great for performance since because of all the context switches. Doing high performance computing with HT scales worse than just more cores.

What makes you think I didn't know it was the same thing? That's the point.

actually it is good if you look at the frametimes
computerbase.de/2017-03/amd-ryzen-1800x-1700x-1700-test/4/#diagramm-the-witcher-3-frametimes-ryzen-7-1800x-gegen-core-i7-6900k
games will feel smoother on ryzen than on intel CPUs

PS: They will also lose to Intel at 1440p and 4K once we get GPUs that can run 4k at 144Hz.

RESOLUTION HAS NO IMPACT ON CPU USAGE.

Ryzen only looks better in 1440p/4K because of GPU limitations. It's only going to be worse in future. Ryzen is literally DOA.

>good as skylake i5
quite an achievement AMD

Because "HT" is a Simultaneous multithreading!

it fails against [OC[ i5-6600k or 6700k
and power consumption / temperatures ratio is just, ugh, typically bad for AMD

my 6600k stays at 42°C at 4.4GHz and is superbly efficient

Further proof that the i5 4690k is the best CPU for its price. If you're not waiting for Intel to respond to Ryzen so you can cop a 4690k you're doing it wrong.

AMD FAGS ON SUICIDE WATCH LMFAOOOOo

lower frame time is better...

It is the games that are optimized for Intel CPUs, not the other way around.

Those results are really good, better than the 4690K bear in mind it's an 8 core CPU and consider the single thread performance leap

Some people have work to do before the buying an 8 core for gaming meme, besides hyperthreading isn't meant at all for games, should be disabled ideally. Most games without multithreaded processing time and that are more real time show that the best hyperthreading can do is match non-hyperthreaded and most of the time it performs worse, not better.

>dat silky smooth frames
holy shit
