So Mozilla comes out with a new version of Firefox every few weeks. I got a little sick of it so I turned off auto updates. Now I'm a few years behind and shit is starting to get glitchy. Most of their "upgrades" seem to be geared around social media. -Share this thing with all your '''''''friends''''''' with one click. -Blast that to all your social media things automatically. I don't give half a fuck about social media. I just want a browser that works and isn't mining all my data like Chrome. Deny it all you want, but that's exactly what chrome does.
tl;dr realistically what version of FF do I need for full functionality, or how do I get that without all the social media bullshit?
I tried palemoon about a year ago and had to switch back. I can't remember what it was specifically, but I had a lot of functionality problems with it. Seems like a lot of things I did online, or wanted to do, would not work.

cyberfox, pale moon, waterfox

Aaron Evans
Firefox ESR
Jordan Cox
Firefox (Nightly) and then use about:config to disable what you dislike
Jose Cook
I'll look into these. Though as I said I've already tried PM.

>how do I get that without all the social media bullshit? I honestly don't know what this refers to, can someone explain?
Liam King
>I don't want muh update
Enjoy your security nightmare you retard.
Also there's nothing about social networks in vanilla Firefox, just "services" that you can *optionally* install as extensions to share with FB or Twitter, and Chrome doesn't mine data except reasonable things like your IP what you tell it to sync.
David Parker
>and Chrome doesn't mine data except reasonable things like your IP what you tell it to sync. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA *BREATHES IN* AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
>and shit is starting to get glitchy. Because your version is outdated? this makes no sense >-Share this thing with all your '''''''friends''''''' with one click. >-Blast that to all your social media things automatically. No new version had any such feature.
No idea either. Though it could have been some feature I disabled years ago and I don't remember.

Is there any version of Firefox that sips battery? A la Safari or Opera in Battery Saver mode?

I dont understand why people care so much data about them gets collected. Yeah it's immoral of the companies, but what does it matter/ Why do you care google sells the knowledge of 1 person among billions enjoying midget futa porn? What can they do with that info that makes you homeless?
Anthony Taylor
Isn't Vivaldi just reskinned Chrome though?
I like Vivaldi, and not OP, I was just lurking.
I had Palememe, but Tab trees/vertical tabs broke with the last update.
How the fuck does Palememe stay so stable though?
I tried Cyberfox, and it lagged and crashed a lot. I'm on FF now, and it lags like a bitch if I leave it running for a day or two.
Jack Price
literally this. FF nightly is god tier.
Colton Russell
Try SeaMonkey too.
Justin Johnson
I installed Nightly, launched it with my profile from Stable and it was slower than Stable

Anyone got problem with google drive when using FF. I cant download anything at all, clicked download, googledrive page reload and nothing happen.
Parker Nelson
>a few years behind So what version are you on?
Daniel Nelson
Then try with a new profile. Nightly is even faster then chrome in some instances (at least from when I compared them)
