Actually now that I remember, I recall telling people months before ryzen came out how they were retarded for thinking single threaded performance was going to match or be better than- and I said they should be expecting an 8-core ivy bridge.

Mobos are more expensive, but you should find one for $130 or so.

The benchmarks show that Ryzen's 8 cores are barely better than a dual core Pentium G4560 in gayming.

The difference is, the 5820k can reach 4.5GHz fairly easily. The 1800x struggles at 4 - 4.1GHz.
