About to pull the meme trigger

Which?

Post watches that get you laid without being worn

I'm a seiko man myself

Alpinist

Too big look at the lugs

Is this the new version of the chink bagelgauss?

???

Why is your watch on the wrong side of your wrist?

Thinking of buying this.

I refuse to give Apple any money.

I think you should kill yourself.

Rate my rolex

Don't buy it, they send you a straight up fake.

See here

Your hand is on upside down.

>tfw pulled the trigger

From gizmo-outlets? Mine had a similarly extended eta, it arrived within a week though.

Did you get an Owlpenis?

Yeah, I've just this second ordered it. Did you order an Alpinist? If it takes a month to get here as long as there are no hidden taxes and it works I'm not too fussed. Let's see how long it takes.

Did tracking work for you with royal mail? I've found the tracking information that ebay sellers give to be completely useless 90% of the time.

As in "Package was picked up" then no update till "package delivered".

I got a SARB033, I reckon you'll get it by the end of next week. They were a bit slow adding the tracking but it did work.

What have you ordered?

Bought the Owlpenis

if you are in the US, try tracking with USPS using the same tracking number. usually the country of origin can only tell you about what's happening to the package inside its own borders.

Do you like it?
Thinking of getting the 35.

tfw when shitposting 100x on WUS in order to list on /f29/

Whats that?

Sale forum, fucking lurk more

Oh shit I'm sorry!

Meme magic is real, kiddos. Posting a series of pictures I memed for my friends, followed by Kek's reward for memeing hard IRL.

In need of a new cheap beater watch, I decided that the Casio F-91W was a cheap, durable, and practical watch with meme value.

So I decided to buy one.

and dress it up a bit.

Punctual counterimperialist endeavors.

And that's the story of my meme watch, as memed to my friends.

After a day of meming and shooting, I swung by a local gun store that was going out of business. I bought some things at a fair discount and headed towards the door. However, on my way out, I noticed the $1 junk bin, and saw a watch inside. Having lurked /wt/ for a couple of weeks now, I couldn't resist and I took a look.

Nice gyrotourbillon 2 pic. I think you missed the discussion a few threads ago about the practical utility of single axis vs bi-axial vs. tri-axial tourbillons.

At the time I said that single and tri-axial tourbillons are memes, but that I liked JLCs bi-axial implementation, in particular in versions 2 and 3 that take advantage of the balance design to use cylindrical and then spherical hairsprings.

Any thoughts on the subject?

i got a compliment on my vostok from a tranny hooker in bangkok. highlight of my evening guys; i felt euphoric. also sex is so cheap man.

Pic related was Kek's blessing for a watch meme well memed.

I don't know much about Omega watches, but while the brass on the strap was heavily corroded, there was no such corrosion on the watch itself, which suggests the yellow metal isn't some kind of brass and is therefore more likely to be gold. The second hand moves very smoothly, about five tics per second, and the automatic movement started working in the time it took me to walk from the shop counter to my vehicle and start setting the time.

Any idea what this thing is and what it might be worth? How do I take care of it?

probably upwards of 500 but it could be a couple grand if it's really nice. Take it to a watchmaker and have it serviced and appraised

any markings on the back?

I'm currently living in rural Pennsylvania, though I'm moving back to Pittsburgh soon and I travel a lot. How do I find a competent watchmaker? I suspect there are a lot of battery mongers out here.

you may have to ship it somewhere if you can't find someone you will drive to.

There might be a few places in Altoona if that's closer to you but no promises

mine is snkn47. bought about 2 yrs ago.

why does it look so much like a calatrava with subsecond reeeeeee

It's stamped:
10 K G BEZ
STEEL BACK

It's also engraved, pic related. The crown is decorated with an omega.

Altoona is between Williamsport and Pittsburgh, which are locales that I frequent. If you have recommendations there I would be appreciative.

Is there a fix for Sup Forums image rotation? I'm taking pictures with my tablet and posting from my laptop, and they look right on my laptop.

good story I like it

If you can open the caseback and get the movement caliber number and serial number the omega database often has info. That caseback unscrews counterclockwise (like a regular screw)

delete Orientation exif data then rotate it back where you actually want it with gimp or something

Thanks, testing that now.

Is there a good way to open the caseback without messing it up? I imagine there's a specialized tool and I don't want to ruin it trying to improvise.

This is what a watch case wrench looks like. If you have needle nose pliers, you can improvise with those. Consider wrapping the pliers in scotch tape to avoid scratching the case (anymore than it already is).

Some cases can be opened with tape - just stick a ton of tape on the back and twist with that.

Or wait for a watchmaker to open it and tell you the caliber and serial.

>This is what a watch case wrench looks like.
I think I might just buy one of those, I've been wanting to acquire horology tools and some cheap project watches for a new hobby. What other tools should I buy and does it matter who I buy them from?

In my view, the indispensable hobby wat h tools are a timegrapher, visor with light, dust cover, movement holder, dust blower, case wrench, case knife, plastic stick, #2 tweezers, 110 screwdriver (works for 90% of screws), pithwood, bounce-resistant pad, pin pusher (not pictured can't find it)

You can buy from wherever. Maybe go premium on the tweezers but if not whatever.

pin pusher

Hey Sup Forums (impressed with the quality/quanitity of these watch threads btw)

2 questions

1. How do you feel about the upcoming Halios Seaforth (luxury snobs need not apply)

2. I need ideas for a dressy navy blue-dialed watch. Something I can dress up/down. Small seconds would be cool, but not necessary. I'd prefer a no-date option. >$1000 (secondhand and grey market are fine). Does it exist...?

I meant

>go to Amazon
>enter "Seiko blue"
Choose your destiny.

>selling watch on leddit
>people go through the trouble to pm me that they want it, and send me references, then disappear once I send them payment instruction.

Alcohol

Thanks, sounds like I've got some shopping around to do.

Thank you, friendo, I'm glad you enjoyed it.

otto frei for nice stuff, amazon for cheap stuff

ew Seiko's offerings for dressy and navy blue are all tacky

omg.... what omega is that?? how many mm?

that is really nice

Looks like some kind of late 1960s seamaster

>otto frei for nice stuff
I'd rather buy nice tools once than poor tools several times, but I can't seem to find caseback wrenches on their site.

Thanks! I found it in a junk bin in a local shop for one American dollar, and then spent $5 on the strap at WalMart so I could wear it right away. I don't know what Omega it is, but would appreciate an ID if anyone can figure it out. It takes an 18mm strap and is about 35.687mm at the crown.

It has an engraving dated 1968 on the back so that sounds about right, but it doesn't say "Seamaster" anywhere.

maybe a vintage seamaster

hell of a find, I suppose I don't have to tell you how much those are going for on ebay and such

I'd love to own a vintage Omega someday.

ofrei.com/page557.html
case wrenches

Is that a real one?

I'm all for nice tools, but does a case wrench really need to be $200

it really doesn't.
CWR-602.00 or FB-1368 is more than good enough (both are better than the one I posted and use )

>I suppose I don't have to tell you how much those are going for on ebay and such
I've looked around a bit, but I don't know exactly what I'm looking for or if the engraving on the back will hurt the value. I do know they're going for a lot more than $1, though. Doubt I'll sell it because prior to yesterday I was wearing a $6 Casio and firmly in the
>I'd love to own a vintage Omega someday.
camp.

>Screw Back Watch Case Openers
Well, that explains why my search for "wrench" came up empty. Thank you kindly.

you should never sell that watch; that is way too good a story and the $300 or so you could probably get it for would not be worth it. Whatever its identity it is an excellent piece that will run for another 50 years if you take care of it.

some of the watchmakers on watchuseek for example (many currently in the industry), say engravings increase the worth of a vintage watch

but alas I don't know either way

Unless the engraving is historically significant, no. Pristine factory vintage watches are almost always worth more.

About to buy my first automatic watch.
T-this is good rright?

Model: SRPA27K1

Having a hard time deciding which one to get first. Black goes with more things but the red and blue combo is great.

42mmx13mm is kind of big and thick - with a dressier style like that you should consider smaller unless your wrist in 7in+.

4R35 is a good movement.

How hard is it to swap the bezel?

Pepsis are pig disgusting

That looks red and black

...

now you have me thinking again about getting one from artifice with an nh35 movement and a sapphire crystal

Like the other user said, 42mm is pretty big for a watch that's all face. How big is your wrist

I am getting mine through him as well when I decide. Going with the stock hardlex though.

Love the way the pepsi patinas

It's here! King Seiko attempt #2 finally arrived from glorious Nippon.
Feather in my cap:
- pristine dial, markers and hands.
- case is unpolished and worn with even, shallow scratches. A few minutes with a cape cod cloth should make it look brilliant
- handwinds, hacks, and quick-sets day/date smoothly. Doesn't feel funny/with unusual resistance like the last one. Crown doesn't fucking pop out with too much force like the last one.
Black eyes:
- aftermarket strap looks decent, but is made shittily. I think it's probably the same age as the watch. Also gold buckle on SS watch - why do ppl do this...
- loses 18 sec a day! FML. Hopefully fixed by service/ adjustment. The last one had a defective/worn balance assembly. Now to find a watchmaker that actually has experience with vintage Seikos.

Well it's in for service - time will tell.

actually... anyone got a reason i should get an skx007 (modified or not) over a mako ii?

which one's looks do you like better? They're both fine. After all, you really can't go wrong with Orient

hmmm
Yeah, my wrist is just over 6in.
The thing is, I really like that simple design and cannot find much similar for around the same price.
all the Seiko 5's I look at are either covered in numbers or are only 30m water resist, where I'm after 100m

Not really, movement's better, bracelet's better, finishing's better.

it's not as nice a watch, but if a smaller size is crucial, you can consider an amphibia 420 series.

This is amazing do you have a model #

I can't see myself selling this watch unless I'm extremely hard-up for cash and my life has fallen apart to the point I've sold every gun except for one loaded with a coward's bullet.

I should endeavor to discover the story of
W. L. Rea
Quaker State
1965-1968

How do you like it?

SARB033 would be the traditional recommendation here

Looks amazing but is unfortunately out of my price range.
