I'm using trisquel with libreboot but its not very light weight. Ideally something with only free software.
Just got a thinkpad X60. What distro should I put on it?
make your own distro
Gentoo
openSUSE cause it has thumbnail preview in Firefox's file picker
Is openSUSE completely free software?
Try Porteus.
cmon install gentoo dude
do it once for science xD
Is it completely free?
No thanks.
>Ideally something with only free software.
Literally just check the FSF-approved distros.
>he fell for the thinkpad meme
Parabola
how is that a meme?
LinuxBBQ
Which DE?
Make sure to get an SSD, the HDDs made when the hardware was new are now extremely slow
Also get at least 2GB RAM
debian with xfce, it's definetely your choice
This. It's basically arch but free
kde
Parabola. Pick whatever DE/WM you want, Xfce and MATE are both pretty lightweight. Parabola is rolling release and stays pretty close to Arch, while Trisquel hasn't had a major upgrade in a while (don't know about regular updates). FWIW, Parabola is the only distro recommended by both FSF and Libreboot.
>Libreboot
Why would I listen to a mentally-ill person?
>What distro should I put on it?
I like OpenSUSE
