I don't.

Childish garbage marketed to manchildren and pedos. It has worse graphical performance than the xbox one so you know it's not even worth buying to try out.

Pretty much this.

...

Looks cool but it's not perfect.
Overpowered for a handheld so if doesn't get great battery life, underpowered for a standalone console so it doesn't look that great upscaled to a tv.

Type C charger and micro SD slot are also a massive plus since many brands *COUGH* sony *COUGH* heavily favor propriety bits.

Bootleg chink tablets have better build quality.
>bricked out of the box
>clusters of dead pixels are "normal"
>overheats
>controllers drop connection constantly
>screen is plasting and apparently the dock scratches it
>silky smooth sub 20fps zelda

>thinks graphics matter
>actually has the nerve to use "manchildren" without irony

Probably fun with a few friends or for your kids when Mario Kart and Smash Bros are out. I assume it will be hacked in the distant future when I inevitably pick it up for $150, at which time I can just download all of the games and put them on a flash cart with SD slot.

Yeah sure dude. No point in going past 24 frames since the human eye cant go past it. No sense in displaying multiple enemies on the screen since the human brain can't handle more than 1 at a time. >you're a stupid fucking pedo lover.

That it is only a matter of time before people start emulating it

The new zelda is already running in cemu.

>nintendo literally made a weaker portable version of the wii u
>people will still lap this dogshit up
I'm amazed how fucking retarded people are

who are you quoting?

I liked it better when it was called the shield.

Better screen, longer battery life too.

[Citation needed]

I'd rather get an NVidia Shield TV for the same price and have 500gb of internal storage to go along with it instead of 32/25 available.

Don't be mad nintentoddler.

literally check Sup Forums

>clusterfuck launch
>nintendo doesn't support basic shit like moving game saves around
>battery life is an afterthought
>thanks to the dbrand assholes now everybody knows that it has shit paint/coating that will peel off in a month
>ridiculously overpriced
>no decent thirdparty support
>some idiots that fell for it report that it doesn't work out of the box
>other idiots report faulty screens with dead pixels
>overall build quality is uber shit, even the normal regular use of pulling it out of the dock will scratch the crappy screen

I'm missing stuff for sure, it's the worst nintendo console launch so far. I believe the japs thought they were pulling another Wii, cheap shit hardware/software and millions of sales to retarded normies. Newsflash, it won't happen.

Is this a new meme? Just pretending to have not gotten btfo?

There are videos of people getting their new switch machines and watching it have a stroke when they first power on, giving off high pitched whines and the screen breaking up.
Overheat is for docked mode iirc off the top of my head.
Left JoyCon has reportedly been having weird connection issues, and the physical connection to the device is apparently kind of flimsy.
The dead pixels thing is apparently "normal" directly quotes from their support site, and isn't grounds for a return if it's only 6 or less.
Breath of the Wild actually runs worse docked than when you are playing in portable mode because the graphical increase when docked isn't followed by a sufficient increase in the machines performance.
That's all really easy to find stuff on the switch so far, there's probably more wrong with the thing we'll find down the line.
It seems like a neat enough concept, just with a really shitty execution.

Cool concept, but not worth $300.

It's basically a Zelda Player.

>>overheats
Jesus christ, I thought throttling that piece of shit to ~300 MHz for the GPU and ~1GHz for the CPU was gonna be enough...

Also god help you if you want to charge that piece of shit and play vidya on it at the same time.

reddit.com/r/cemu/comments/5xpis9/cemu_173_preview_botw/?st=izx942lh&sh=b935b217

Zelda is running in cemu. There's NO reason to buy this piece of shit.

Graphics do matter to an extent. But that's the least of Nintendo's problems.

>Barely any third party support since N64 days
>Behind the times in terms of online functionality with their horrible friendcode shit or whatever they have now and gaming culture by demonitizing LPers
>Family friendly image making them censor niche games like Fire Emblem
>Weak hardware like Xbox and PS but they have to shoehorn some silly gimmick
>Overly anal about piracy which has lead to them gimping their games like they did with the N64's carts and the GCN's tiny discs.

Now, Xbox and PS4 as well as the Switch are all retarded buys but Nintendo's offerings are the worst of the three. You would have to be a fanboy to go with them.

Naw, I'd rather just get Skyrim or GTA on my PC if I want a sandbox game.

noice

Any chance something like this will be available for Android smartphones soon?

Runs at a snailspace, and no sound? I'm playing it on my Wii U (pirated ofc) and it runs great, fps drops everywhere, but it's better than the video in that plebbit link.

CEMU needs good desktop pc. mobile trash is out of question

CEMU has improved a great deal over the years. You should be getting solid performance on even haswell desktop i3s.

Hopefully the snapdragon 835 will change that

Right, but comparable to the video? I remember giving it a shot a year or so ago and getting like 5-10FPS in MK8, and that video is certainly an improvement, but not the best thing for actually playing the game...

>We want to make an ARM tablet for gaming because ARM designs are great in low power envelopes leading to decent battery life. What vendor do we go with? Do we get something custom made?
>No, we're getting some off the shelf Nvidia chips.
>Terrific, I bet those 16nm FF+ parts will make for a really energy efficient handheld.
>Yeah, totally would. We're using the left over Tegra X1 though. Only $5 a pop.
>But won't that hurt battery life?
>Who cares? We're Nintendo. They'll buy it any way.

Pretty much sums up the development process.

Piece of shit hardware objectively speaken.

However there are enough fanboys and girls of Nintendo outsides.

If it had more potent hardware, the new Zelda wouldn't have looked so empty, would have got some vegetation and not just plain empty grass fields.

Lowest of consumer trash.

youtube.com/watch?v=mS18UFiTrAo

It looks great and the concept is nice, but I wouldn't buy it because I'm poor and I almost never play games.

>shit performance
I doesn't fucking mater you fucks. A console is good because of the games it run, not because of the absolute performances.
>Disclaimer : I have no idea of what games run on the switch or if they are good

>only $542 CDN with zelda

If you pay 300$ for it might as well be decent hardware. Selling the switch at that price is almost a crime.

>for years get called a manchild for having a Vita to play almost console level games
>Memory cards are expensive but it needs nothing else

>Switch comes out
>Weaker than the wiiU
>Aftermarket controllers and shit
>Paid online
>Literally one game
>Less portable than a Vita
>Shittier screen than a 6 year old handheld
>Less buttons and inputs that. A 6 year old handheld
>OMG guyz did u buy the Switch yet Zlda is sooo cool xDdDD!!!!1!

Sup Forums was zero help so you guys are my last hope here.

Earlier today, I got some ransomware affecting my switch thanks to some light torrenting I did from another device. I got the switch online using the "translate to bypass dns blocks" thing to go online, went on my usual sites, within 30 seconds got infected. Now my Switch and all other computing devices, both mine and my siblings/parents devices connected to the internet are all now locked up with Russian malware with a notice saying they need 3 grand in bitcoin to unlock the devices. My parents and siblings return from their trip tomorrow.

Am I screwed, Sup Forums?

It's bullshit. As a 3DS successor it's retarded because it's just a tiny tablet with a controller and as a Wii U successor it's retarded because it's a fucking tablet

Install gentoo

>dump your flagship console
>replace it with shitty handheld that competes against your other handheld
They're literally competing against their only profitable platform.

I'd try it but the switch won't even turn on. How do I install it without a CD drive or usb port for booting?

>720p gaming

Lmao, my phone is 4k btw
shilltendo you need to step it up

Put the install files on a micro SD, then politely ask the Switch to power itself on.

I'll try that and report back with results.

I am fond of Nintendo's intellectual properties but I can't defend a company normalizing this kind of graphical mediocrity.

Nor can I defend their awful pricing, the entire console seems like a pretty flawed device. It's marginally less powerful than almost all tablets at the same price yet you're forced to pay for a 'dock' and other bits you might not even want.

It's upcoming games don't interest me at all beyond Persona 5 but that does not justify the purchase of a $300 console like this as I'll be supporting a company seemingly actively working against my interests.

It's been memed way too hard all over the place lately but I genuinely feel everyone would be better off as a software company, their games are some of the best around, their hardware (nowadays) is some of the absolute worst.

>HD on a 6" screen
>bad
Autism.

>literally the only good games on switch are ports of years old games

It pains me that splatoon is going to die along with the switch, but they're never making a console after this and N3DS splatoon is next to impossible.

Nintendo was always shit. I still have my psp which has a higher res screen than their latest 3ds. A console from 2005.

You can buy a tablet with a 4k screen for like $100ish dollars nowadays.

Guys. Is Gentoo supposed to lead to a black screen with the occasional line of gibberish code popping up after install?

It took three attempts to be able to turn it on, but all I get is the black screen. I know the Nintendo Switch isn't one of Gentoo's usual platforms but I figured I'd try it. Did I botch things, Sup Forums?

And?

I can't support this post-iwata nintendo.

The PSP was absolutely fantastic, I really wish I'd been into games when the Vita came out, I would have loved to have purchased one when it mattered and supported what was effectively the PSP2. Maybe this hand-held, on the go push from Nintendo will push Sony to release a new handheld.

Nintendo's games aren't really to write home about either. When your typical indie dev can provide a good enough experience to your typical Mario or Zelda title, it's time to just forget about them.

That is more valuable to almost everyone than a $300 proprietary pos that somehow manages to only play videogames in the year 2017.

Can you post actual tablets like this? Count me interested.

All nintendo franchise titles released in the last 10 years have been the weakest entries in their respective franchises.

I don't understand why anyone would buy nintendo shit in this day and age unless you're too young to remember when they were not shit.

I might be just buying into the hype or am suffering from battered wife syndrome given how good some of their best games were and still are. I suppose when you sit back and look at what they've been doing for the past decade or so things aren't quite as peachy as they used to be.

Learning to be able to go back and appreciate older games was the best think I ever did though, you can't beat free timeless classics on practically every electronic device in your house nowadays.

Desktops have a hard time with 4k gaymes, what makes you think Nintendo's glorified cellphone is remotely close to doing it? Besides, 235PPI is more than enough. This is a child's play thing.

Rare piece of hardware.

The games selection is really bad compared to the PSP, but it's way better than the Switch will have for a long time, maybe even ever.

Even going back to older games, especially those that I haven't touched in a long time, very few Nintendo games really stand the test of time. Super Smash Bros is one of those few games. Everything else is good considering when it was released but a lot of Nintendo's games have aged pretty badly.

I used to be super into Zelda, and replaying Wind Waker, especially after playing tons of games after, I see how fucking barren that game was content wise. I mean, the fucking PS2 had San Andreas filled to the brim with content. Zelda could have been open world long time ago, when you think about it.

Of course, everyone is a general after the war is over.

Oh my god and there goes any desire I ever had to buy this turd.

20 fucking FPS? 20?!

step in the right direction for nintendo

unfortunately too many engineering and design flaws that really should have been discovered and addressed pre-release

can't use kickstand when charging because of charging port placement?
screen protectors melting in the dock?
dock scratching the screen?
joycon wrist strap devices nearly impossible to remove if slid on the wrong way?

how did they let this thing release?

>reddit.com/r/cemu/comments/5xpis9/cemu_173_preview_botw/?st=izx942lh&sh=b935b217

>Zelda is running in cemu. There's NO reason to buy this piece of shit.

"Lots of bugs that make the game unplayable. Physic glitches, rune abilities that require object selection don't work, no water collision, etc. Essentially it's impossible to leave the tutorial area without using a save"

Yeah thanks for the recommendation though

pretty neat but there's no way I'm considering purchasing one until they release the switch """plus""" in 6 months with better hardware and a bundled game.

This. Although it's not very good.

>Weaker than the wiiU
proof?

It's weaker in portable mode, about on par docked. Some have argued the Switch will be an easier platform to develop for but they've kind of pulled a Wii all over again.

If you're looking for a console hoping to push the boat out the Switch isn't it, it really is just a handheld with a fancy, overpriced HDMI adapter.

>tfw you just want nintendo to win for once because they mean well and don't sell out like microsoft and sony but they keep just barely missing the mark

;-;7 I'll still support you miyamoto-san

Nintendo are more greedy than fucking Intel, user.

>mean well

You mean like how they shat on third party devs in the early years and made a lot of them jump ship as soon as the PS1 launched?

>Lots of bugs that make the game unplayable. Physic glitches, rune abilities that require object selection don't work, no water collision, etc. Essentially it's impossible to leave the tutorial area without using a save.

That's the experience I searched for!

No, the 835 won't offer such a great performance boost.

You would rather buy another console for 10 more frames?

>they don't sell out
What the heck is that even supposed to mean for a video game console? And what do you call the GBA Link cable?

the switch was a horrible idea and an even worse implementation

I will still buy one though because I like nintendo games and hopefully they will make a new kirby air ride

No.
It completely eliminates my desire for Zelda.

You would want it if they removed some grass and bumped the frame rate up? Really what are 10 frames to a console gamer?

trash

Too expensive for what it is.

Also not worth it since nintendo will release a better version of it eventually like the N3DS problem.

There's reportedly no new smash coming to it

why is it twice as thick as but has worse battery life than your average tablet of equivalent power?

how much is the yakuza paying you

What's hilarious is that zelda actually runs better in tablet mode because the internal res is 720p. While docked the game goes to 900p and the hardware can't keep up.

It's internals are just re-appropriated shield tablet internals, you know how great nVidia's ARM energy efficiency record is.

Not defending Nintendo but all stores that sell TVs, monitors, panels, etc wont make the warranty valid for 2-3 bad pixels.

>overpowered
literally lmaoing @ your life nigga, there a chinkphones with better specs and battery life

It gets even better, if you set the output mode while docked to 720p or 480p it still experiences the lag because Nintendo programmed the game to increase the internal rendering resolution, not the native.

Nintendo still hasn't learned they don't have the manpower to keep making their franchise exclusive titles on their own. The hardware and software is just too complex now for the games to get to market in decent time. They must start using 3rd party game engines for their exclusives, or this will end up exactly like the wii-u.

Apparently there's a exploit already

m.neogaf.com/showthread.php?t=1350090

well if thats true is this device ore of a temporary gap between their next console?

This IS their next console.

They killed the previous one to replace it with this 20fps underpowered jack of all trades garbage.

It's a shit home console and a shit handheld.
It's literally the same size as the wii u gamepad.

They really would have been better off using a regular ARM chip. (Well the X1 is ARM but I mean something like SD)
Battery life would have been better, could have been passively cooled, and would have offered better performance! Hell they could have also thrown in another ARM chip in the dock to boost performance.

>screen protectors melting in the dock?
I don't think a tempered glass screen protector can melt. Do the regular ones do though?

They just don't give a fuck. They're a fucking $12B company. I wonder how long and what amount of shit nintendrones can take

>buying a $300 zelda machine

Nintendrones, everyone
