That kind of made me think, would it be idiotic to wait for Skylake X ( Intels answer to Ryzen).

All sockets are dead sockets. By the time a CPU comes out that is worth upgrading to, it is invariably on a new socket. Nobody will upgrade their Skylake systems to Coffee Lake to get the same IPC and slightly better Intel graphics.

2. Ryzen is not going to get any better
3. Productivity is not better, in fact it is way better on Intel in the vast majority of cases

1.R7 1800x is the "worst" value chip of the three, R7 1700 is the best for its price. Comparing a $1000 chip to a $299 1700 seems pretty illogical, and the i7 7700k is better due to its optimization.
