Resync your Google account they were backed up on.
Colton Walker
i didn't back them up on a google account, i did a full system backup in TWRP recovery and thought I might get them back from that recovery

I know it's annoying, but restore that backup and save the contacts. It's the easiest way.
Brandon Hill
ah, damn, no way though I'll restore the old rom, reset the phone, install the rom I just installed and fix all the apps etc again. I'll just do all the contacts manually again

>Cyanogen >2017 ???

im not a fucking nerd who keeps track of all "d latezzt dank ROMz", I just wanted something small without bloatware and it seemed OK
The Cyanogen project doesn't exist anymore. Your ROM has security vulnerabilities.
Austin Moore
cyanogenmod got renamed to lineageos btw
Aiden Price
Not OP, but I've been using Cyanogen for my phone for a few months, and I like it. I got it from Team Superluminals website, it was a version from when Cyanogen still existed. Could you elaborate what vulnerabilities it could have?
I have no idea how to interpret that. Could you recommend any alternatives to Cyanogen? Should I go to LineageOS instead?
Kayden King
There are multiple security problems discovered in Android every month. >Should I go to LineageOS instead? Yes

>make a backup of the new ROM >restore the old backup >make vCards >restore the new backup Here you go user

Okay, so I downloaded the latest "nightly" version from LineageOS' website, started up in recovery, made a backup, did the factory reset but I couldn't flash it? Got an error when I tried to.
I thought the download seemed small, only about 390 mb. Did I download the wrong one or something?

Get a Nandroid Backup Explorer Tool and extract /data/data/com.android.providers.contacts/databases/contacts2.db to some place. Then get a root file explorer and put that file into the same place on your current rom installation. Make sure file permissions. Are set to "rw- rw- ---".
