ok Sup Forums, i just a new PC with the 1700X.

now my main concern is how to setup my system.

should i use Linux as my daily driver and use Win10 in a VM for gaymen and Visual Studio, or should i use Win 10 as my main OS and run Linux as my Dev Environment in a VM ?

which one would be better, or will there be no significant downside either way?

Win 10 pro gets a VM host built in.

is it as good as VirtualBox tho?

>Daily driver

Don't be a faggot and run windows 10 straight. What are you afraid of, do you run an illegal trafficking ring through the Suez canal and you care?

If you aren't a tech illiterate you can protect yourself from it very easily.

>dev environment
>doesnt say what he "devs"
this is gonna be a good thread!

gentoo since that processor is only good at compiling while you don't actually not use a computer at all.

Would run mainly Java/Spring Projects and a MySQL Database on it.

Lol like who is this guy? Haha

He looks like pepe

The fact that you're asking this proves that you don't even know why you own a computer.

IOMMU is still bugged

Still in the oven being baked. Kernel 4.10 won't solve everything either.

>be bought Ryzen

Run gnu/linux

$0.05 has been deposited to your account.

Last I checked GPU passthrough sucks. Just go with win10 host.

>i just a new PC with the 1700X.
where did you buy it? they sold out over weekend here

Hyper-V

Use Windows 10's built in linux subsystem. Install xserver to open linux gui elements.

Works great for nearly everything.
