My ram crashes any program when it goes above like 6gb total

run memtest. dont use multi thread mode or whatever its called because its bugged.

this, OP. remove all your ram and clean the gold contacts with deoxit or--if you don't have that--use a q-tip to swab them with white vinegar and then reinsert.

My motherboard is old (GA-68P-DS3 rev 1) and the mechanism for placing the ram into the slots is so faulty and poorly designed that I feared it was going to break with how much force I was putting on it.

I ran that a few years back and it didn't pass a 10 hour overnight test. Is there a simpler method of testing ram besides that? The program seems so outdated..
