SmartHTTPS instead of HTTPS Everywhere

...

>uMatrix

LibreJS

What do you mean by this?
uBlock Origin allows you to hide elements on a website, but also blocks ads completely.

>blocks ads

uBlock Origin can only hide ads. It can't really block anything.

RES :^)

downthemall just changed my Sup Forums experience.

What's the point in using uMatrix? It just breaks every site you go to.

>as if blocking via hosts is any different
It does in fact block ads from loading, at least once it detects the ads on the webpage. Hiding the rest of it finishes the job.

[citation needed]

>Browser plugins
addon

It's not really necessary to use both uMatrix and uBlock. uBlock has quite granular filter options now. And if you want to have the uMatrix experience, just use the "default-deny" mode that is explained on uBlock's github.

It doesn't break every site, but I admit that it can be annoying.
But after you have set up your rules for all of your frequent websites (which is the whole point of this plugin) everythings works fine. Also, it's nice to see all the useless shit that websites load usually.

Haven't heard of SmartHttps. Why is it better?

Firefox nightly has the dark theme built in, so you don't need an extension for it.
Also, umatrix has a user switcher so you don't need a separate extension for that either.

this old stupid fucking non-argument again that pops up in every thread. Shit's long been debunked. Educated yourself before spreading nonsense, you idiot.
github.com/gorhill/uBlock/wiki/Does-uBlock-block-ads-or-just-hide-them?

it does block though

Shit, you dumb asshole. See this:
github.com/gorhill/uBlock/wiki/Does-uBlock-block-ads-or-just-hide-them?

...

umatrix breaks websites

fuck off

>uBlock Origin can only hide ads. It can't really block anything.

This meme is getting old.

Only if you are too dumb to use it

>everybody should use.
>- uMatrix
I'd recommend it to advanced users only.

I learned to use it in about 10 minutes and I wouldn't call myself advanced.

ape

It isn't that hard to get behind desu

I'd assume you're not technically inept.
The average user doesn't want to spend time figuring out why the website isn't working and reload a site 3 times to get reCAPTCHA to work.

How do I uMatrix?
Can a tech illiterate mange to use it properly or should I just stick to ublock origin?
I'd love to block all the google and social media shit outiside of their websites.

You won't be able to post on Sup Forums if you do so.

You can do the same with uBlock Origin. Just subscribe to the appropriate filter lists.

uMatrix isn't that hard to use.
In regards to configuring it it works similar to uBlock Origin. You can also subscribe to filter lists (only a few lists are there by default).
Just try it out.

it's a grid with a things in them, you have to decide which things you want to load and that may take some time to get used to

It basically ask sites if it has https instead of loading it through a huge list like HTTPS Everywhere does so it is a little faster.

Should I use uMatrix if I block all scripts by default in uBlock Origin?

what's that supposed to mean? Of course it blocks ads.

>SmartHttps
praise kek, been looking for an excuse to ditch those marxist cucks down at the EFF

Yes. uMatrix also has policies for images, plugins, ajax requests, iframes, and blobs, and can break them up by first-party, third-party, or specific domain

Yeah, but overkill imho. At that point, you'd be better off using lynx or something similar.

>HTTPS Everywhere
>uBlock Origin
>NoScript
>Multifox (has no Chrome equivalent)
>Cookie Monster

>he still uses lynx
>not elinks
laughing-girls.jpg

It's really useful for blocking super aggressive porn sites, or blocking anti-adblocker. it's pretty much the best way to harden your browser.

>reddit

you wouldn't download a mall

This is the only thing I need

>the worst adblock

christ

Care to elaborate? It works and you can whitelist youtube channels unlike adblock plus

now all I need is an extension that sorts pepes by themes etc.

...

>uBlock Origin
Stop using the hobbyist version and use the original uBlock by the official developer.

Why should i use Umatrix instead of noscript?

Because NoScript dev is a moron and NoScript extension is a resource hog. uMatrix is lightweight, more powerful, and better from a privacy pov as it cuts the connection alltogether (does not even initiate it), rather than just not executing scripts.

Piece of shit doesn't even block half the ads even with filters enabled.

The youtube channel whitelist is good but it's shit other than that

Sounds good! Can i set it to block everything like in noscript by default?

Better interface

Looks pretty confusing. What is going on in that pic?

Left side is list of sources, top is request type.

Green means allowed, red means blocked. The numbers are how many blocked requests. Light green is when it is allowed because of a cascaded rule, e.g. The green "CSS" means all CSS is allowed from any source

Thank you.

Yes, that's how it's pre-configured actually.

Those aren't plugins

Ublock
Webrtc disable
No script
About:config disable webgl

>Ublock
>Webrtc disable

uBlock already has an option to do that for you

t. Adblock shill

What do you think of privacy badger?

Shit, thank you. I had no idea

Only shitty ones.

Learn to block with firewall using iptables.

Fucking ticked! Thanks, man.

useless.

What exactly is the problem?

how do i block on-click popups?

I'd like to know this as well. A workaround is to avoid click 1 (they don't open on click 2 or 3).

ublock

fuck off and stop wasting everyone's time if you dont know, you fucking retard

I haven't seen these in years. Where do you find them?

a streaming site called watchseries dot cr

I use ublock origin + noscript and never had any on-click popups.

i'm using ublock origin and umatrix.

try

How about you install the addons and try it yourself?

>intalling noscript when i already have superior umatrix
just stop posting you clueless faggot

Enjoy your popups on shitty streaming sites, subhuman.

>using subpar addons
>call others subhuman
okhand.jpg

No popups here.

i'm not getting any pop ups on that shit site with ublock+umatrix

did you go to video page?

try watchseries.cr/series/stargate-sg-1/season/6/episode/2

if you still dont get any on-click popups please post your filters

>reddit spacing
>streaming TV sites with popups and other malware

nothing faggot, you got adware or something

>addon
DLC

>reddit spacing
what?

>streaming TV sites with popups and other malware
stargate sg-1 is over 70GB, my HDD is full and I havent setup my NAS.

>adware on just one website out of a billion
>didnt post his filters like asked
KYS

No problems.

Is it supposed to look like this? Same in Firefox and Edge.

uMatrix is pretty nice, thanks user

what filters am i gonna post, you mongoloid?
it's just the default ones on ublock and third party scripts blocked on umatrix
stop being retarded, retard
