Tech nostalgia/feels general

...

Can't find a decent screenshot of it. But Hippie97 was how I learned HTML 20 years ago. Wish I could go back to those days

>click on article/essay/etc.
>it's a single page of text or html
>can save it easily for later
>text files had form-feed markers for easy printing

But now it's all online streaming trash.

The internet is still great, in fact in terms of the technology it's the best its ever been since even a bad connection (like I have) is far better bandwidth than dial-up. But what is being rendered and posted is so junk that it still takes just as long.

oh my fucking god qmodem. I haven't seen that since I last used it.

Here's a pic I took of my old CD tower the last time I visited home. It has gone untouched since about 1998.

Qodem is releasing 1.0 soon.

I agree completely. Ever since the normies got on there, they really stunk it up.

I learned on AOLpress

>use chrome
>ctrl+p
>save as pdf

I was making a point more about the intended method of data transfer rather than capability to save for later.

>using chrome
>not using mosaic

...

>the neverhood
mah niggahood

Found this little nigger at work. Unopened.

that disk label looks like someone just mashed a bunch of keys and called it a language

MONSTER TRUCK MADNESS 2

YEEEEE HAWWWW

>tfw you've forgotten how annoying old tech can be

Thank goodness nobody has to play about with jumpers these days to get shit to work.

>implying

This is why I was a chicken-head.

IRQ interrupts ... hahaha, good times.

dip switches

>3 PCI shit tries to use the same IRQ as my ISA card
>reserve the IRQ for legacy ISA
>3 PCI shit still doesn't work because lmao resource conflict and lmao APIC doesn't work for some reason

I don't miss these defective motherboards.
