where'd the lume go
Third for get triggered, fags!
First for desk communism
I do have a pinky finger it is hidden in this photo though
I fucking Love Vostoks but please, do a favor to yours and get rid of that """relumed""" dial.
holy fucking dogshit
Good vintage seiko for $250?
JDM preferd but not essential.
LORD MARVEL 36000
it's goat
good thing that you clarified that
Afraid to post your wrist?
you make that watch look 32 mm
I hate fat people
Not me, thank god
I admit it didn't turn out too well. But I did it with Nemoto Luminova so at least it's bright as fuck. Pic is the same as what the previous dial was, I could put that back, but then all I could work with is five tiny lume dots.
No, fatty. I just wanted a full shot of the rally strap. The autists here really get their cashews in a crunch when they see a rally leather strap on a diver.
Forgot pic.
>/wt/: hamplanets and skellingtons
>leather on a diver
>take for a dive
>leather gets ruined
Already caught the first (You).
Seiko Lord Marvel 5740C - manual wind 36,000 bph. No hacking. Very good inherent accuracy, very reliable.
Seiko LM Special 5206 or 5216
- the 52xx is one of the greatest a series produced automatic movements a of all time. Automatic, micro-adjuster for regulation, hacking, hand winding, good reliability, cheap, lots of variety. Pic rated is a gorgeous blue sunburst dial variant.
King Seiko 5621
-Suwa Seikosha produced KS using a 28,800 bph version of the 56xx movement. Inferior to the 52xx but still good and the 5621 avoids the issue with the quick-set for day and date breaking because it's time only. Hacks, handwinds, micro-adjuster, etc.
King Seiko Special 5245/5246/5256
- hard to get for below $250 now, but are some of the finest automatic timepieces produced by Seiko before the quartz revolution. Highly adjusted and regulated versions of the 52xx movement as in the LM Special.
I did it. I ordered one.
Stop shilling your dumb Dainishit, we get it, you own Daini watches, congratulations to you, it's not like you personally invented them.
He literally asked for vintage Seikos below $250. What do you want me to do, lie?
Two of the four models in that post were Suwa models, by the way.
why is IV written as IIII
Because it's also an accepted way of representing 4.
IIII predates IV.
IV being shorthand.
did ya order a replacement strap too?
I don't have it yet, so I haven't felt the need to replace it
It looks really plastic, but it isn't so bad.
are king seikos the old grand seikos? Are we going to be seeing $200 grand seikos?
Why don't watch makers add $30 to the price of every watch and ship them with a non dogshit strap?
>waiting 2 months for a slav-shitter
damn ruskies.
>are king seikos the old grand seikos? Are we going to be seeing $200 grand seikos?
Probably not $200 ever due to inflation but maybe the equivalent of it. If you look at pre-quartz crisis watches like 99% of them are worth fucking nothing regardless of how expensive they were to purchase. Most of GS's lineup look like upmarket Seiko 5's so I can't imagine a lot of them holding value long term. Some iconic models like the Snowflake will probably retain value though, and likely even increase significantly in value if they ever get discontinued.
that's a nice dial.
for you
Google Suwa and Daini. In old times Seiko was split into two factories that developed watches completely independent of each other. Out of Seikos luxury watches one factory made the King Seikos and the other the Grand Seikos. After the quartz crisis the two factories merged their technologies together with only keeping the Grand Seiko name.
Unless Seiko at some point in the future decides to stop making Grand Seikos, it is unlikely.
Vintage watch prices are heavily affected by whether or not the brand still exists today and still has a good reputation for quality in the present. Vintage Grand Seikos are not especially cheap compared to their in-period Swiss competitors today (e.g. Omega, Girard Perregaux).
Since the King Seiko brand is not used today and is only generally known amongst vintage Seiko collectors--and because Daini Seikosha remains under appreciated relative to Suwa Seikosha--vintage King Seikos are still available for a much better value than vintage Grand Seikos. This is true even when they share the same movement, such as non-VFA 45 GS models going for multiple times the prices of 45 KS models, even though both use the same movement and were produced by Daini Seikosha.
what do we do about archie?
Ignore
Crown him Prime Minister of /wt/.
Or at least invite him to come shitpost with us. Even allow him to trip.
Why do people back this trash?
>Or at least invite him to come shitpost with us.
He would probably be quite fun honestly. And it's not like he has anything better to do, last I checked he's a NEET.
Because they're rebels against common sense
So reps could be made from it that they could buy.
Also the most rebellious Swiss automatic would be one that uses a Seiko NH35.
>the most rebellious Swiss automatic would be one that uses a Seiko NH35
Tag beat you to it.
Not everyone can have taste
At first I thought it was going to be some horrible scam with gold plated quartz shitters, but as far as low end watches goes that Kickstarter is fine. They're upfront about using Sellita movements and the kickstarter page doesn't use the word "luxury" once. Plus the designs are original without being some enormous Invicta-tier monstrosity or other garbage.
Not going to back because I'm a brand snob but if I saw someone wearing one/supporting the campaign I wouldn't exactly call them retards considering the price is reasonable for what you're getting.
Lads, some advice pls
I'm considering purchasing an expensive dress watch - looking at a Jaeger Master Control
I want it for special occasions and rare important business meetings, otherwise it will be stored away for safekeeping
I'm reading tips online for maintenance and storage and many of them say that even if you don't use your watch every day, you should still wind it up everyday or get a watch winder
Now is this really nesecary? Or can I just wind it up whenever I want to wear it?
Again, this watch would serve a special and rare function
Also, I'm reading that magnetism can mess up an automatic watch, and while I was in the airport the other day, I was wondering if the TSA scanners things would be any hinderence to an automatic watch?
Also I'd appreciate any tips or advices in general. Cheers :)
I'd like to know this as I have a manual wind watch am I really supposed to wind my watch up every damn day?
you should wind watches at least once a month to spread the oil/lubricants
you're still a fag for wanting to buy a safe queen instead of wearing it
I have heard it is better to keep it wound
I wind my watch every day
if ya know what I mean
Try looking at Jaeger LeCoultre quartz watches then, though I'm not sure if they even make them.
Keeping it wound introduces regular wear, but having it stopped for long periods might have the oils "set".
When I traveled abroad with my mechanical watch I just took it off and chucked it into the tray, X-Rays should be harmless to a watch. I don't know about Fatistan airports, but on Yuropoor ones there's very little chance of anyone snatching something off the X-Ray tray.
Afaik, in the case of a JLC master control, it has the Calibre 899 movement and therefore is lubricant free. Am I right here or is there something I'm missing
And w/e I'm ok with someone calling me a fag. Want this watch passed down for generations to come
>Not buying a seiko 5 to hand down to your kids.
I'm getting buried with my good watches
hey guys new watch
about to hit the club
OwO
If you don't wear it regularly then yes, you will want to wind it every so often (at least once a month) and have it serviced every 5-10 years.
As to the magnetism thing, I'm pretty sure JLC balance springs are made out of some special material that will prevent their shit from being fucked but I'm not completely sure.
quick google says it does use oils and lubricants
fag
Thanks
jaeger-lecoultre.com
master control user manual mentions it in the first page.
fag.

I have just bought this Citizen Radio-controlled watch. It's the h804 AT8110-61L (hmm, which seems to be the 53L for the american audience),30% off its European retail price.
Well, it's quite heavy for my tastes, around 130 grams, i was tempted to buy a super titanium version, but it wasn't available.
The radio signal is received well, astounding precision, watch is solar powered like all modern Citizen watches. Perpetual calendar and auto DST. Date and day, its also a chronograph.
I'm really enjoyng it.
Sup /wg/ can anyone please identify my late grandfather's watch. Only thing I know it's from soviet era, it runs on battery but it has some mech components
Pt.1
Guts.
Pt. 2
I want a good dress watch for less than $300 that isn't a Seiko
suggestions?
casio
Pt. 3
why not Citizen?
>strap came
>it's too big
time to get fat
...
thoughts?
Shitters.
Kind of a watch related question here. I want to get into clock repair and then of that goes over well I'll move into watches, but for now it's clocks. How noob friendly is it to get into? I've watched some videos, read up about it, going to start reading clock repair books when I get back home, and have examined as much as I can with a clock I already have without the proper tools (I'll get them later)
Is there hope for me?
What it says about you: I bought it to troll /wt/
So, is Pierre Lannier worth it? Anyone even know them? Supposedly they make their watches in France(Alsace, my home region) with parts coming from Asia and Swiss (no in-house movement of course), so how good it is?
How much shit could a chinkshit shit if a chinkshit could shit french shit?
>Should I buy this for $19.19?
Ironically
Well they do seem to use Miyota Movements though.
SARB035 on Gekota mesh
Is this the best casio autist watch?
What is the diameter, I think its a touch too big on you
Yeah it looks huge on the pic. It's 38mm on my pussy 6inch wrist but it's fine.
Here's another for reference
not kidding, I just pulled the trigger
needed a leather strap and a style that matches both every day work, casual, and dress and a good price
don't feel bad about it at all
Another one
I like it

Luch
Fake or real?
Also
Found this just from a quick search.
forums.watchuseek.com
Why does this fat cunt pronounce Omega as ameega?
Luch 3045 electro-mechanical movement based on the Junghans 600 Dato-Chron movement.
Probably gold plated case, yes?
Aussie's can't speak the King's English
Thinking of buying an old Vostok off of Etsy.
What're the odds that I'd get a fake? Thinking of this one specifically: etsy.com
Why are german watches also so minimalist?
Holy. Thanks anons, it's exactly it.
Gold plated and all.
Any thoughts on how to maintain it, or where to take it to get it adjusted?
It hold a sentimental value for me because it's the only thing I found that belonged to my grandfather who passed away when I was 1yrs old.
Been looking at a Milgauss, Blancpain fifty fathoms (11k€)
Now the red new Tudor Black Bay at 3200€ seems like a cheap toy
Where does this hobby end fämälämäs
I dont even wear a watch at home, who does? Only at work or going out/orgy
