Both have the same apps, same games, and almost look the same. A flagship Android device and current iPhone will cost roughly the same and perform close to the same. It's not like they are plagued with problems like windows phones.

you're right, from a hardware level, a flagship android phone and iPhone are relatively the same with similar performance.
the issues all come from the software side. android is objectively worse than iOS. and then theres the very real social stigma against android, especially you live in western society.

I wouldn't want to associate myself with a person with these kind of priorities anyway, but never seen this as a thing in Europe. I guess this is what happens when your entire national identity revolves around not being perceived as poor.
Basically Android phones are for people who need to get work done and need a phone with good battery life.
iPhones are for children and homosexuals who lug around battery banks in wooden wagons everywhere they go or insistently keep asking people for chargers and get upset when 99% of them don't have their gayphone charger.

Don't forget, iOS only lets you use special ringtone files as ringtones. I had to jump through so many fucking hoops to set my dad's ringtone on his iPhone to a sound file he already had on the phone's memory, a process that can be done in seconds through the settings menu in Android.

You can install alternative operating systems on Android phones that don't even have to be Android at all (Plasma Mobile, Ubuntu Touch, Sailfish, and Firefox OS to name a few). Once Apple drops support, there's nothing you can do about it. On Android you unlock the bootloader and install a custom ROM like Lineage OS that will get updates for years. The Galaxy S2 from 2011 can run Nougat fairly well, while the iPhone 4s is stuck on iOS 9.3.5.
Apple products are garbage.
