Stupid issues caused by poor qc that allows Micro SD cards and OTG adapters to kill them, or some have reported that they wake up one morning and their redmi just refuses to turn on.
I wouldn't call it a terrible phone, but I also wouldn't call it a good one. Also that god awful camera.

Redmi note 4 and note 4x seem to be pretty good for now, much less complaints, but they're also newer and less popular.
Personally though, I do like the redmi 4 prime and the note 4. Nice design, nice specs, and it looks good for the price. Around that price though you have other options too. Zuk Z2 LeEco Le Max 2 and Le 2 x520, vernee mars, etc.
Have a look around, check reviews and see what you like.
