Sorry no pic.
if you're gonna use a meme timesink distro you need to install a tiling window manager and build a riced-out environment from scratch.
don't forget the anime wallpaper
MFW I forgot to add
>inb4 "none"
to this thread
Plasma is surprisingly fast. Gnome is slow but stylish.Cinnamon is good aswell. I dont like mate but xfce is functional and modular. Id go with plasma since it has a simple global menu which i like.
anime is cancerous and degenerate and all weaboos should be exterminated.
Install GNOME but make it look like KDE using extensions or vice versa.
I was leaning towards plasma already. I use GNOME on my Memebuntu install and I like it but I was feeling like doing something different for Arch just because
I think you are on the wrong website.
You know, that's just like, your opinion man.
I like plasma but when it comes to de im a turboautist. Its either qt or gtk and not both. Dont forget to install dolphin, konsole, konveraation, gwenview. Dont use their mail program.its shit. Best player is qmplay2 or mpc-qt.
Also cantata is the best audio player!
This install isn't going to get a whole lot of mileage desu senpai. Its just a VM install on my laptop. But thanks for the suggestions ill check it out
just install them all, then try them one by one, then remove the ones you don't like.
I did that some time ago, now I'm using i3
Depends on if you'd like something lightweight or not.
KDE is not bad, Budgie as well. For something a little bit lightweight, I'd suggest Mate, and if you want to configure everything from scratch (the arch way), go with openbox/fluxbox. I'd suggest you to have a look at i3, which is a tiling windows manager, very different form the classical WM we have nowadays.
No worries I might not be a l33t hacker but I like good software which is actually usable.
>2017
>browses Sup Forums
>uses arch
>not a l33t haxxor
comfy - gnome
productivity - i3
bdsm fetish - kde
Cinnamon > *
probably xfce, then you'll get bored and try cinnamon, then you'll try kde and go back to cinammon, eventually you'll bounce between your de of choice and different tilers until you realise you're a fucking man child and should have just used mac os from the beginning
get a girlfriend you fat piece of shit
I like GNOME. Everything is stable and it just works. Your mileage may vary.
Stop avatar fagging it's against the rules
Why would I get a gf when I have a fiancé?
>mac os
Also, this VM is running on my work laptop which is a macbook so fuck off.
wrong pic
>uses mac os
>runs arch in a vm
lmao you're worse than a windowsfag user
what gtk theme is this?
arc-dark, icons are numix-circle, and the launcher is called plank
k
Your own.
it's probably numix circle and gnome, babby's first rice
...
>rice
Selecting themes for a fully-functional desktop is not the same is autistically ricing a window manager.
xfce
lil babby getting salty because his definition of rice isn't the right one
>using manjaro unironically
I've used several de's on arch linux and they were all very nice right out of the box.
used many distros last 10 years, manjaro xfce is best one.
same, except for plasma. That thing was really buggy last time I tried (around February 2016)
idk how it is now
Anything but gnome
> 2015
this isn't your own
The second he took the picture, he crashed anyway because of some Manjaro exclusive repo.
You sound like a sad and bitter little user, user.
Now, now, no school shootings for you, sweetie pie
jokes on you im a nigger and we don't shoot schools up
They've fixed alot of things lately, it's running nice so far.

Best to worst DEs
Cinnamon
XFCE
KDE
LXDE/LXQt
MATE
GNOME
Unity
>we don't shoot schools up
right you just shoot each other.
>im a nigger
>jokes on you
Top kek. I'm sorry to tell you user, that in fact the joke is on you, and your life is the punchline.
is a waste of time.
There's not a huge difference between the GNOME 2-like environments. Xfce, Cinnamon, and MATE can be configured to look the exact same, and most of the software is interchangeable.
ok, you proved me wrong, happy now?
It looks ok, is it available anywhere?
>being proud ouf your own shitty icons and the window manager
sway with pure Wayland. Although I don't know if babby distro like Arch supports that
>this neet salty because i made fun of his rice

Why are you being so mean?
I'm op you fucking retard. But I also think you making fun of the other guys """""rice""""" is pretty gay.
Especially since it looks nice. I've also noticed that you've contributed nothing to this thread from your own except lazily trolling with low effort bait.
No DE! Install i3wm. Once you go tiling-window manager you never go DE noob.
ManjaroLinux
better?
this
yeah much better.
So what all have you done here?
wallpaper sauce?
What the fug
wallbase user
what timeline is this?
Neat.
clearly the dankest timeline
bspwm & polybar, not posting dots because it's messy as fuck
Gnome. Anything else would be outright retarded.
Why are you posting a sane opinion?
You think the timeline where Bill Gates ruined the tech industry is dank?
Bill Gates was a ruthless, cutthroat businessman who made his vast wealth by using every dirty trick in the book (
and inventing a few new dirty tricks along the way) and then using Microsoft's success to effectively hold the computer industry hostage for 20 years.
He viewed any successful non-Microsoft software as a threat, even if that software was for Windows. And if that software was cross-platform he viewed it as an existential threat, since it lessened people's dependence on Microsoft.
Internet Explorer? Microsoft didn't make it. They completely missed the boat on the World Wide Web, and with the popularity of the Netscape Navigator web browser (which was available on almost every computer, from $20k SGI workstations to Macs to Windows PCs), Bill Gates & co saw a threat to Microsoft's dominance, so they rushed to get their own web browser by buying one from a company called Spyglass Software. Now, since Netscape Navigator cost money, everyone assumed Microsoft would charge for Internet Explorer, and Microsoft's contract with Spyglass Software promised to give Spyglass a cut of whatever money they made from Internet Explorer sales. So what did Microsoft do? They released Internet Explorer for free, which was something none of their competitors could do since Microsoft had such deep pockets. Spyglass Software was ruined, and so was Netscape eventually. Once Internet Explorer was available, Microsoft threatened not to sell Windows to any PC manufacturer that bundled Netscape Navigator, which would later get them in trouble with the Department of Justice and the EU.
If you don't mind spending 30 minutes making it look not-shit and setting sane window manager keyboard shortcuts, XFCE is really good
this

Thank me later.
