forgot to mention that I'm alsolooking to get 2 3tb toshiba hdds and if anyone got opinions on the p300 model.

pcpartpicker.com/user/apks94/saved/w3K23C

Looking to build a Plex Server/NAS for about 2-4 users streaming. I was also looking at maybe getting a Ryzen Cpu once there is a decent ITX board available. May take awhile... I wasn't planning on using ECC memory, but I can switch it up if it's absolutely mandatory. Suggestions?

pcpartpicker.com/list/xxjQxY

How does this look, especially the case. Want something that isn't "gaymur" and has no side window. Am planning on getting Ryzen 1500X.

>buy Maxwell card
>nVidia releases new architecture and die shrink the next year

Why did I fall for the Maxlell meme?

I'm currently building a server with spare parts but I need to buy a hard drive. I will be using the server to store media and files and stuff like that. I know there are different types(like ones for NAS and WD blue and stuff like that). Which type of hard drive do you guys recommend for my server?

sell it and buy a new one.

Should I get a 1050 Ti or 460?
Latter is cheaper, though, and I'm a casual PC gamer on 1080p

Rate my build, user.
Should I wait for Ryzen 3 to make this build cheaper?

This. Normies aren't redpilled on the gimping of Nvidia. You could probably sell it for close to the retail price.

What is amusing is the 480 (and later, 1060) effectively gutted the used market but still people tried to sell their 780's, 970's and 780ti's for way more than they are worth entirely because "muh nvidia".

Its like they learny nothing from the 290x basically halving the value of the OG titan overnight.

>pcpartpicker.com/list/xxjQxY
looks good

>plex
nice meme faggot streaming is gay

yes, wait or get some old xeon

so im about to order the build here ca.pcpartpicker.com/guide/kpJ7YJ/modest-gaming-build

general thoughts? is there anything else i might need for this? first build for me

i see mentions of antistatic wriststraps but in every build video i see they are non existent

also does this mobo have wifi onboard

pls help

So is there ANY indication on when the rest of the X370 boards will be back in stock?

Its a choice now. You either pick a good brand from AMD and stick it out for 4+ years. Or you get an Nvidia card and either use an upgrade program, or sell your card and get a new one every 2 years.

I was so convinced that I would get a Vega card when it came out, and bought a 480 as a stop gap to replace my 7970GE now. But I just don't know anymore. The 480 is really nice.

Is a 7600 (Non K) a good upgrade from a 4460?

PC is for gaming, country is Canada.

I want to improve the current specs.

no

What would you recommend over it?

lmao, CPU for gaming

I'm still running on an i5 3570 from 4 years ago
Still runs anything I want perfectly.

I can't believe people actually get shilled into falling for the i7 memecores meme.

It's not a bad choice. It might be worth the effort to get a K part and overclock it, however.

You say you WANT to improve your specs, when your current CPU is pretty good as it stands. It would be better if you already had an overclockable CPU. The best recommendation is to get a K intel CPU. AS even if you don't overclock it, you can in the future if you find your performance is aging.

In summary: Get a 7600K at the very least.

I cant believe all that cost 1000 dollars
who is in charge of that blog!

ok man, if you are really going to spend 1100 dollars, I tweaked the list.
I only used NCIX like the blogger did, and I managed to get you:
a chip that can overclock
a watercooler
and a z270 board
ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/Kpcrnn

sounds good
also would it be better to have 2x4gb of ram or is 1x8gb stick equally acceptable

since you arent going for every scrap of frame possible, 1 stick of RAM will totally work
the reason you use 2 is to take advantage of "dual channel"

I'm building my first PC and the cpu power cable won't reach if I go around the back, it only fits if I run it straight up.

Is this bad? It's kinda close to both the cpu fan and the rear case fan.

I assume your psu is at least semi-modular. Run your cpu power cable how you can for now, then order yourself a longer cpu power cable and run it up the back.

>buying windows

Being a goy is better than being a nigger

>paying more than $60 for a fucking keyboard and mouse

I want to build a budget pc (700-800 dollaroos) and already bought a case (corsair.com/en-us/carbide-series-200r-compact-atx-case) and I;m not sure if I got memed on.
I want a PC that can just focus on running games smoothly, I don't need no 1080p or 4k shit, just a pc that can consistently run at 60fps, I just finally want to be able to play Overwatch with my friends (who game on PC).
Anyway I was wondering if this is a good guide/build to follow: logicalincrements.com/
I'm following the "Superb" build.

I just want to make sure I'm not getting memed on before I build my first PC and finally be able to play "next-gen" games (last console I bought was PS3).
Like I said I just want a PC that can run games smoothly and something that just works, no need for max settings n shyyt.

Then this little nigga is your friend.

Alright, you got me there. Can you give me some recommendations for a mouse? I dont want trackball, and i dont want too many sidebuttons.

are you memeing me or can I trust you?

I wouldnt trust the msi branding. Get something from the likes of gigabyte or asus. Whatevers cheaper

Not memeing. 1050 Ti is the king of budget cards and runs most current games at 1080p 60fps

It's even an overkill card for Overwatch. And it's around $130-140 USD, very low power consumption, and doesn't require 6-pin connector. Just insert into the board and done.

???
MSI is a really good brand.

Zotac and PNY are the shady ones.

>zotac
>shady

lmao PNY is ok too, stop memeing

Need GTX 1070 to game on 4k 50" @60 hz, which some are OK with

Reading this, im assuming that i did gud in the hardware, and mediocre in the peripherals/software

>ca.pcpartpicker.com/guide/kpJ7YJ/modest-gaming-build
I'd wait on ryzen 3 or 5 to make it even cheaper

what motherboard should I get?

logicalincrements.com/ considers the GIGABYTE GA-Z270-HD3, MSI Z270-A PRO and ASRock H270 Pro4 "superb".
Are they actually good, or are there better I can get within the same price range as those?

Also not sure what GPU to get, I'm a complete noob to this shit.

not really, should be soon considering ryzen 5 is the mainstream ryzen cpus and by extension will prob be the best selling ryzen cpus

no just keep the 4460

>i7
why?

that things shit

Never go msi, and always choose gigabyte over assrock. If you want overclocking, its a tie between asus and gigabyte

Well, that depends. 1155 socket is outdated, 1150 is on its way out, so 1151 is the standard today. If you don't mind shelling out some extra bucks for 1151 and a 6th gen Intel, go for it, but CPUs are overkill for what you want, so you can go for a 1150 socket and 4th gen i5 and save some cash. You really are not going to notice a difference if you just light game.

>>i7
>why
Why not. I was thinking of going with the 6700K, but i dont know what i would be losing

MSI has the best 1050 Ti versions. It's not up for debate. Their overclock is the best around.

How about not buying a fucking babby lake, newfriend

I was hoping you faggots could help me with that

Because its no different then the i5 in gaming because gaming doesn't use hyperthreading, and if you need hyperthreading then you should get the ryzen 1700

The funny thing about Sup Forums recommendations for brands is they're always completely wrong.

For example in 2016 it was MSI that had the lowest rate of motherboard failure, I think. ASUS had the highest.

In power supplies it was Seasonic that had the highest rate of failures with EVGA having the lowest.

This is all adjusted for marketshare btw.

But keep in mind that none of the above had over 2% failure rate, and the differences were in the 0.2-4% range between brands.

the 1050ti is garbage, the RX 470 is better

470 is not a budget card, bud.

Because half of the people hare are paid shills

Why are you comparing the 1050 Ti to the 470?
The 460 is the 1050's competitor, and it's worse in every way to the 1050.

Or should I compare the 1060 to the 470 too?

the 470 is almost the same price as the 1050ti and way faster, besides anything slower than a 470 is shit and not worth it

>1060 price: $250
>470 price: $150
>1050 ti price: $145
>460: $95

do you see the problem with your """"""argument""""""

Forgot the 1050 but its $110 and only SLIGHTLY faster in outdated dx11 shit, its slower than the 460 in dx12 and vulkan

1060 is $185.

Why the fuck would I get a 470 then? The cheapest one is $155.

>3gb
>mini itx
>"""'""""""""1060""""""""""""""
that thing is fucking horrible and is false advertising

Very nice damage control, my man. :)

And yeah, 3GB and still performs better than the 470 at 4GB

>$155
yea and the cheapest 1050ti is $15 cheaper, stop trying to move the goal posts the 470 is significantly better than the 1050ti

while stuttering because no modern game uses less than 3 gb anymore
4gb is a bare fucking minimum for modern gaming at ultra and even then its not enough for some games

470 requires 6-pin connector and consumes more power.

price: $150
where

maybe because its more powerful

>3GB and still performs better than the 470 at 4GB
lol no

amazon.com/MSI-Radeon-RX-470-ARMOR/dp/B01N3TCNNW/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1489901770&sr=1-1&keywords=rx 470

if you get a rebate its $140, cheaper than the 1050ti

>And yeah, 3GB and still performs better than the 470 at 4GB
i forgot my image

rofl

youtu.be/AMutEI-bLqo?t=49s

>annoying electro shit """""""""music""""""""""
>from a channel ive never heard of
>only testing games with gameworks and are deep into nvidias sponsorship program
how long did you look for this benchmark to confirm your bias

Sorry, sweetie.
Is this better?
youtu.be/2R76wLCxRXY?t=1m46s

Use a real channel you faggots.

Not that guy and not even clicking on your shit.

youtube.com/watch?v=CNNRGH3gMvg

Best $60-$80 case one could get for a starting/first build?

its a moot point, the 1060 3gb will hit its frame buffer before the 470 and stutter, id take something 2% slower if i get 2% slower consistently instead of stuttering

Opinions on this case?

I plan to do stupid water cooling ricer shit.

thermaltakeusa.com/Chassis/Cube_Case_/Core/C_00003042/Core_X5_Tempered_Glass_Edition/design.htm

>falling for the water cooler meme
>when CPUs are getting cooler and cooler each time

thats not the 3gb 1060 though

only the amd ones are, intel cpus are still firmly housefires that require a massive air cooler or watercooling or a delidding

Ever hear of GPUs, bro?

They are also getting cooler, retard. And they have their own fans which are more than enough.

Well look at it this way, the 3GB can't possibly perform better than the 6GB and the difference between the 470 and 1060 6GB is pretty damn small, so why the hell would you get the 3GB?

Because it fucking looks cool

Also getting the Trident Z RGB with the Crosshair VI Hero because I hate money and myself.

>And they have their own fans which are more than enough.

Which sounds like a fucking jet engine.

>and the difference between the 470 and 1060 6GB is pretty damn small

You mean 480.
There's a huge, gaping difference between 1060 6gb and 470

Hey user, if I'm going to be simultaneously running stuff like Blender and the Unity engine, would the i7 help much or still overkill?

is this a good GPU?

amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Support-Graphics-06G-P4-6161-KR/dp/B01IPVSGEC/?tag=logicaincrem-20

>getting ram just because of mu leds
you need to be 18 or older to post on this site

If you're gonna be multitasking and doing shit in the background while gaming, then yeah, get an i7. Otherwise, don't bother.

Look we can't all live with Kingston ValueRAM

amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B01J8CCUL2/ref=dp_olp_new_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=new

here this is better and cheaper, XFX binning this generation has been pretty solid

If you're doing that shit you should get a R7 1700. Virtually identical performance and price, with cheaper and longer lasting motherboards.

get an SSD, no matter how small, to keep your OS on. you will be one million percent happier.

or you can just get something that doesn't look like a pride flag and demand a premium for looking like a faggot flag

Yea if you do things with blender i would recommend you look into ryzen and get whichever one agrees with your budget.

shiiiiiid I think I'm going with this

thanks famalam, hope you're not just shilling

So what you're saying is get some modules with GREAT FLAMING EYEBROWS

or a robot cat

well if you want to try your luck with those gook sellers go ahead

but seriously the premium is only $20 for the bay area touch. you need RAM with samsung b-dies on Ryzen to hit 3200MHz, which means CAS 14 is a must.

getting it on newegg

id just get the gskill shit that is certified for ryzen
