I'm happy with what I have, my old 480 in SLI ran at 60fps with some frame drops, the 680 run even better, and no frame dropping.
I keep my hardware till it cant run anymore, and I can always stick in a Xeon in there for maximum speed

yeah it is. its model #F4-3000C14Q-32GTZR. i'm only using 2x8gb sticks because with ryzen, 2666mhz ratio is only supported on 4x8gb and 2x16gb kits. with 2x8gb 16gb its been running great at 2933mhz (ryzen doesn't support a 3000mhz ratio, only 29, 32, so on) @ cas 14-14-14-34. the kit is a samsung single rank kit.
cas 14 3000 and 3200 gskill kits are samsung ic's and 2x8, 4x8 are single rank samsung. 2x16 are dual rank. any other 3000 or 3200mhz kit that's greater than 14 is going to be hynix. ryzen only likes samsung for 3200. for 3000 ryzen likes samsung for tight timings.

that's one of my big turn offs with Ryzen. It's insanely picky what high speed ram kits it will take. And high RAM speed is like a necessity with Ryzen isn't? To make up for Windows 10 scheduler being shit on Ryzen? I have 32GB of DDR4-2400mhz CL14 (That I managed to take down to CL 12-12-14-32)

ryzen's memory controller was hands down designed first for servers first. and with its bias for samsung, amd internally must have heavily used samsung chips. the reason is because all other timings outside of the basic ones are locked. you can't change them. motherboard manufacturers can't change them.
if you want 3200 you gotta go with a 16gb 2x8gb kit that uses single rank samsung ic's. like gskill F4-3200C14D-16GTZR. personally i would recommend a 4x8gb kit like F4-3200C14Q-32GTZR and run it in a 2x8gb configuration. that way when the memory controller gets more ironed out you can have two extra sticks ready for 32gb.
amd did state they will be releasing a microcode update in may that will bring for higher frequencies on more configurations.
yeah, unlike intel, amd benefits from higher clocked ram heavily. 3000mhz is minimum really with 3200 being the icing on the cake. 2666 is alright if you can get it down to cas 12. cas 12 2666mhz is on the heels of 3000mhz cas 14.

Motherboard is Asrock EPC612D4I, using sodimm ECC ddr4.
Soon(tm) to be esxi box for home use. Wanted something that is quiet and small. HBA card will fix lack of sata ports if I'd ever need more than 3x4tb.
Fractal R5 HDD cage seems to fit in Define nano S with sfx psu and short hba card/gpu from quick testing.
I'm also interested to test in future PCIE bifurcation. With sfx psu that should be doable in that case
