Master race waifu uses a master race DE?

If you know how to configure it, KDE.

What I want to like: KDE
What I actually like: Gnome
KDE has sooooo much potential, but it also has so many issues and bugs, it's just sad. The worst thing is that theoretically you could recreate the behaviour of Gnome Shell (press super key for an overview of your windows and start typing for any command) easily in KDE, making it possible to take advantage of KDEs better performance.
Yep, KDE is definitely better. Takes like 3-6 months to configure it well though. I haven't seen much bugginess as KDE5 hit LTS though. Not getting half the shit they promised but at least it's fucking stable.
They're both shitty. I quite like Unity on Ubuntu, but on this FreeBSD box mate is just fine.

I miss my ex GF that has body like that...
she left me because of I addicted to DOTA 2.
When last have you used Gnome? It's running pretty damn smooth on my laptop with just an i3 and that's even with a crap ton of extensions. On Wayland it works even better but it has the tendency to crash if you use old extensions, it seems.
Even outside of Gnome's functionality, I like how integrated everything feels rather than cobbled together like in most DEs.
Using Fedora 25.
I've last used Gnome about a week ago, and before that it was my only DE for several years ever since Fedora 18 and Gnome 3.0. It's come a long way.
But in my experience KDE Plasma a) runs faster and with better framerates b) uses less RAM, so I consider it technically superior.
F25 as well here, on a thinkpad e450 also with an i3 2.0Ghz. Currently happily using i3wm
>Currently happily using i3wm
I've honestly never used a wm. What use is there in using one other than RAM/performance? Because I have RAM to spare. I can't imagine leaving Gnome and not being able to use things like shellshape and panel scroll to change workspaces.
Shellshape works for you in fedora 25 ? It's completely broken for me
Gnome3 is where linux desktop started going bad:
>slow and buggy
>my syndromeD
>fuck X who needs that old shit
>zomg lets reinvent every wheel!
Thanks kids.
dolphin and kwin are also better than nautilus and metacity imo
I don't know why I keep calling it Shellshape, what I'm using is Shelltile:
extensions.gnome.org
It works fine on 25. Apparently there is an extension called Shellshape that seems to do the same thing, though.
there are several types of WM, most people who only use a WM do so in order to avoid having to use the mouse. It's no coincidence that there is a WM called ratpoison..
It's partly "muh minimalism" (use feh instead of Gnome images viewer", use mupdf instead of evince, use mutt instead of evolution/thunderbird) but also to maximize screen real estate. After using a tiling WM for a while you will realize that stacking windows are a lie created by the DE industry.. or something like that.
There is no objectively "better" way to use a computer. In some ways I could use Gnome 3 faster than i3 (super key + first letters of program to open vs. super key+D + first letters) but in other ways i3 is waaaay faster than any DE could ever be.
You can always install i3 alongside Gnome if you're curious, just chose it in the login manager

This.
Leave the window webbing feature and gimmie a xfce right button
I tried KDE, but didn't like it. It was never obvious to me what required single or double clicks, the customisability (via control panels) seemed lacking and many things just didn't work like I expected.
I went back to Cinnamon
That's what I meant, shell tile
What other extensions do you use? Shit just seems to fly off the screen or resize horribly when I use it
