You're a pro in 2017 software discovery? How does one get into that line of work?

>this year
>the past 3 months

well shit user... being a little harsh

Imagemagick for windows.

Solved many issues at work.

Yalp store

>brainlet reading comprehension

What, why?
Krita. Though I'm late to that.
If you want software written this recently you're an idiot.

Imagemagick is fucking amazing.

gentoo

I discovered a semi-obscure VST (plugin for the DAW, which is the main music production software that I constantly find myself using, and I'll probably keep using for a long time, since it allows me to make never heard before sounds in a way easier way than without.

Sorry but I can't tell you its name because the fewer know about it, the better for me.

nah, tell me

docker for windows is a thing now?

I discovered Vivaldi this year. Top browser.

"Lingva Latina Per Se Illvstrata" is fucking amazing.

Can it do anything that PS can't do?

It can do simple tasks on the commandline, like resizing pictures by 50% or compressing them.

This way I dont have to start photoshop and do 14 steps to do the same.

If you guess right, then I'll confirm it.

Hint: It's nothing huge or "complex" like Reaktor.
It's actually pretty simple and only has a few features, but it has an enormous potential when used in "unconventional" ways.

I find Greenshot to be superior in all aspects to puush

thanks user, downloadin it right now.
this will speed my shit up greatly.

Greenshot would be absolutely perfect if only it didn't glitch on me once in a while, resetting my keyboard shortcuts, making it pretty much unreliable (I'm always afraid to use it because I never know if it's gonna save it or not, and checking if it did takes more time than just using mspaint).

Other than that it's the best.

What is the point of greenshot? What can it do that windows snipping tool; print-key; alt-print-key can't?
I never understood this

DXVAChecker. It's great for checking your graphics card/apu video hardware decoding capabilities.

It can do those things quickly and automatically.

For example, I started using it during one of those periods where Sup Forums and other boards had insecam threads and I needed to quickly screencap noteworthy moments, and by the time I'd save the 1st, the moment would've passed and I would miss the rest of it.
With GS I could just take hundreds of rapidly taken shots and never miss anything.

It can upload a screencap to imgur in 5 seconds, works right away with the print screen, can cap the mouse cursor with it (or remove it), crop, add text, etc. Windows snipping tool is very limited with its editing in comparison, or requires more steps for the same result.

audacity

>protip : you can't

Why do you have to act like a retard always. Can't you just ask questions properly?

idk? sytrus haha

audacity isnt a vst lol

It's a semi-obscure plugin, not an extremely popular audio editing software.

sony vegas?

It's not integrated in any DAW.

VS Code, I actually used it to fix some js anc c and it's working pretty well.

kek'd and chek'd

>VS Code
Uses 13% CPU when idle

its not the wavetable one everyones raving about? something something XT... but you're making it sound old and overlooked... ACE?

Yes, in the way that running a Linux VM is "for Windows"

You mean xfer serum? It's not.
Also, it's not old.

Forgot to add, it's not ACE.

ah, i give up. mind sharing what type of synthesis at least?

Never said it's a VSTi, user.

Do you need Kontakt for it?

If that's an attempt to guessing the VST, then the answer is no.
Nothing to do with KONTAKT.

A Sharper Scaling

Slightly better upscaling of images than photoshop. Free and quick. Great for making images extremely large before you edit them.

Jasc Animation shop 3

Vectormagic
>for tracing bmp data (jpg/png/etc..) to make vectors

>not using waifux2

god damn!

Oh boy here we go

>Google maps - holy shit it can tell you where you're going, no more regular maps
>Email on a phone - holy shit, it's like text messages but better
>dominoes app - holy shit, i didn't know you could order pizza tonight for tomorrow

I didn't know about languagetools until I searched for it this year, it is pretty great.

Prefer screengrab myself. For browser screenshots.
>Selection box you can draw.
>Or complete page.
>or visible portion

You can
>save
>or copy to clipboard.
>or upload in a second

>not just using Sharex

>Specialized for anime and manga styles
>Sorry, photos will probably not work well. You can, try though!

Haven't a/b test them. A Sharper Scaling is great for photos.

You discovered these this year?

Yes

Me in 2016:
"Dumphones are more than enough"
"The battery lasts all week, this matters even though I am never more than ten feet from a grounded outlet"
"Most also have a pause feature for extensions so you can call people at work"

Now my trusty nokia brick sits in my glove compartment with a couple of spare batteries.

>Sharex
Thanks. Will have a look.

Probably overkill for what I use screenshots for. I do a shitload of technical emails/chats to mostly technically illiterate people. So being able to quickly screenshot 'how to', 'if i was them', using a browser, is a primary use case.

Personal use, I think I'll like it. Especially the colour picker. That will come in handy. Thanks

Streamlink so I don't have to put up with twitchs for awful player.

firefox has a builtin screenshot tool which I usually use for full page screenshots, why use a plugin?

livestreamer + vlc/omx/mpv/whatever

this
and the whole microG project

Lots of reasons. One use case
>online chat
>customer needs how to something
>can select to copy small relevant area
>paste bmp data in chat
Literally takes a second or two to share a portion of a screen

Makehuman I just discovered yesterday, and it's Foss.

Livestreamer's dev is MIA for more than a year already, Streamlink is the actively developed fork

For these things, I just use a screenshot tool.

I started using Maps as well last year.
It's so fucking good. It even displays traffic jams in real time practically immediately.

It's one more window to deal with though. I find, for my use case, most of the time. The screenshot tool in the browser is far quicker.
>two or more chats going on
>need to be as fast as possible
>just to get them to go away
>they have issues with online usage so it's the browser I'm in
If i had a separate monitor for the screenshot tool, that would be a different scenario.

Also... copying the bitmap data, then changing tabs to paste into email is really quick.

I was unable to clone my PS3 HDD to SSD using ghost32. To my surprise, HDClone enterprise edition had no problem with it.

Slick for WM6
God DAMN, it's fast, i almost forgot how speed was supposed to look like.
Only bad thing is no Today plugin or notifications.

Russian hacker blocker 2017

xev

Streamlink Twitch GUI

vim, but only basic keyboard shortcuts, and I only found out about stuff like "set ruler" a few weeks ago.
Pretty sure I started using mpv about a year ago, after seeing it shilled so much on Sup Forums.

meant to reply to

cmder, pretty nice in windows, fuck native cmd desu

idk senpai, using 0.1% on my system right now

Can it be a f-framework...?

HideAllIP
Automatically tunnels all UDP traffic through TCP and has lots of servers to choose from.

Reaktor is fucking easy. You should try making your own ensemble.

Didn't say it's difficult to use. Just that it's a complex program because of how it's made, as opposed to a non-complex one like the one I was talking about which only has a dozen fixed knobs or so.

quteborwser, even though it's unsecure and probably shouldn't be used.

ninite
how the fuck have i lived without it
why the fuck did i learned about it just now

TeraCopy

Snappy driver

what DAW is that

deezloader

What kind of sounds?

Not DAW but VST. It's Reaktor.
