I would also like to know
Gnome GUI is getting old
You shouldn't because that's a sign of autism.
>Unironically wasting all that space with a tiling wm
Kys senpai
be a poser
Depends if you really want a functional desktop with a proper work-flow or this useless eye candy.
Check /r/unixporn for this bullshit or just use i3 or Awesome.
Do you want to use your computer or just look at your desktop like a retarded subhuman?
>i3
Oh wait
If tiling WMs are so great, then why can't I bind arbitrary keys/buttons together like I wish instead of forcing me to use a "modifier" that can't even be bound to another modifier?
wut??
example please.
install gentoo
This can be done in i3. Pop open a config once in a while.
looks like ricey dwm or maybe 2bwm with dmenu? doesnt look like i3
>This can be done in i3. Pop open a config once in a while.
Never got it working with mouse buttons only. They always trigger with the first one. My dream of one hand mode is far away with that shit.
>binding to the mouse on a keyboard-centric wm
Never tried that, could see running into problems though
Spent more autism on this, and my final answer is 2bwm. I can tell by the pixels.
>Never tried that
But how do you fap like this?
WHAT BAR IS THAT I NEED TO KNOW
can you be a little more specific?
install linux distro,
the terminal is uxrvt, not sure what the bar is, the window manager is i3gaps, the bottom search bar is dmenu I think
and waste a day editing conf files.
>How do I get my desktop to look like this?
3years without shutting off your computer hahahahahahaha
By the look of your screenshot, I'd start by installing i3-gaps, dmenu, and lemonbar.
That's lemonbar that's been riced to shit.
Are there actually tilers out there that *can't* have their keys completely rebound in the config file?
the better question is, is it possible to achieve this on a toaster running Xfce and XFWM?
No idea. Why don't you try and get back to us? I'd be curious to see what you come up with.
I'm mostly talking about non keyboard events like buttons from mouses and other devices. Look
Also, mod in i3 is limited to "official" modifiers only.
Makes the fapping experience intolerable.
Sorry, man. Most modern tilers don't let you remap mod to the III key on your Spacemacs keyboard.
I don't understand the limitation at all. All the autists are screaming at DEs for being not "configurable" enough and tiling WMs can't even get the most important aspect of it right, keybinding. There is nothing hardware wise stopping them from allowing any key/event to be the modifier. But here we are in a time after evdev and there is still the retarded focus on PS2-like input. Times have moved on, we aren't limited by that shit standard any more.
Users of Sup Forumsentoo, how long did your install take? I want to try this Linux distro, but worried about my P8600. Will it meltdown?
Have you tried using xev to get the name of the key?
