What's with the sennheiser veil meme? I've used basically ever legit brand of headphone (sennheiser, audio technica, beyerdynamic, etymotic, AKG) and, ignoring the cheapo budget crap, sennheisers have the best sound out of any of them

Finally a /hpg/ that doesn't suck
Thanks for the non-anime op!

Maybe there can be two HPGs, one for NEET anime autists who listen to anime music and shitpost, and one for normies with jobs

Any specific headphones?

Some Sennheisers are kinda veiled desu. Namely 650's. All similarly tiered Beyer/AKG are bright. AT headphones tend to be just wacky though often have peaky treble. Dunno about Etys.

600 aren't really veiled, though the treble is slightly recessed.

Just got my tma 2 with their most accurate and detailed configuration speakers 4 pads 6 but they are muddy as fug

The paper in the box did say allow for 24 hours of burn in with medium/low sound

You've just made them bassy as fuck, user. Just take a look at their frequency response.

WTF this is supposed to be the clarity version I didnt think this would pummel me with bass

Any rec for Made in Japan or Germany headphones?
Budget is ~1000 Eur.

Yes, I'm racist that way.

SO1 speakers paired with EO3 ear pads seem to be the most neutral. Never tried any of their headphones though.

WTF I have to spend $70 for a new driver

Could have got some fancy shit with this money

German Maestro GMP400 or your pics and especially the first gen ones.

There is no decent Japanese headphones outside of Stax electrostatics, but they of course, even cheapest models have mid and high to die for.

Can't you return them?

No they turned out to have a retarded return policy, only new in box

Why do the more retarded bass versions cost more while the neutral is the lowest config???

I thought I could get something better than m40x I see spammed here with these

What can I say? Some people are willing to pay more for nigger bass. AIAIAI just seems like another company like Beats by Dre or House of Marley.

What are going to do now?

>
Is it possible to have a system wide bass reduction?

If possible would this perhaps produce undesirable results to try and kill bass?

And yes I did notice the bass on their charts but I didn't think it could hurt this much just going from my only real cans the PC 373 they sound like absolute shite

On my HTC 10 by the way for the sound

You could always try to eq your headphones.

youtu.be/NtKXGbsA94E

Fucking hassle since I don't always listen to my music on exact the same channel

I think you're stuck with bassy headphones then, unless if you plan on spending more money.

When you're listening to wavs, the bit rate is higher. I know flac is lossless but if there are less bits, I don't see how it could actually be lossless. Less bits means less bits.
But is wav total placebo? Does anybody even use wavs for music?

>First, FLAC is probably the only lossless compressor that has a published and comprehensive test suite. With the others you rely on the author's personal testing or the longevity of the program. But with FLAC you can download the whole test suite and run it on any version you like, or alter it to test your own data. The test suite checks every function in the API, as well as running many thousands of streams through an encode-decode-verify process, to test every nook and cranny of the system. Even on a fast machine the full test suite takes hours. The full test suite must pass on several platforms before a release is made.

>Second, you can always use the -V option with flac (also supported by most GUI frontends) to verify while encoding. With this option, a decoder is run in parallel to the encoder and its output is compared against the original input. If a difference is found flac will stop with an error.

Wav files are fucking huge, even compared to Flac

Yeah, I'm just getting into hifi music and I've been getting odds and ends off of bandcamp (most in 44.1/16) and it's already building up. Recently went to flac though after a blank banshee album almost took up a gb in wav.

Didn't know that. I guess I should pro ably suck it up and just go to flacs. They format better anyway, wavs have really bad album/track/artist formatting.

Le fucking kill me then

$300 can get you some really nice mobile shit like HD 800 mobile

You spent how much on your headphones?

$200 for this configuration and then it will be $70 for another driver

You win some, you lose some, I guess.

Fuck it I have some Amazon gift card why not I just get the bower and wilkin p7 for some real sound

I've never tried those, so I can't comment on their sound. Might want to do more research for better options out there too.

Here's a decent place for more detail on the headphones.
ca.rtings.com/headphones/reviews/bowers-wilkins/p7

I just looked there and the leakage is a no go

According to rtings the QC 35 are the best bet with their treble out performing Sony mdr 1000x, not to mention the best comfort around and mouse cancel as a bonus

I only have really tried open-backed headphones, so again, I can't really be of any help. If you want, there's another headphone general . There's more people there; just stay wary of the shitposters. Just fill out the form, and you should be fine.

Sennheiser also makes comfy noise-cancelling headphones that aren't featured on that site, so maybe take a look there too.

is headphone burn in real?

Nope. Your ears adjusting to your headphone is, though.

I rarely got a response actually filling the form, infact I filled out two entire forms and got fucking nothing, probably because I was discussing whether to get a qc 35 or a mdr 1000x etc. And all of that is "frowned upon"

Not sure about senns because they block out higher frequency to make sound more "comfy" and the Bose appear to actually allow for more sound to come

that was so satisfying to watch, do you know any other videos like this?

From what I know, Bose makes damn good noise cancelling headphones. They're just a bit overpriced when it comes to sound quality. They are general flat headphones until you get up into the higher frequencies. If you want a good noise cancelling headphone, then get Bose.

Do you have Asparagus?

Is white Asparagus OK?

can get m40x for 80 euro should i?
first headphones.
will use mostly for when traveling and sometimes movies or gaming.

Pretty nice for the price, but they can get pretty uncomfy with those thin pads and there are better options out there for gaming due to its pretty narrow soundstage.

I dont play much pro shooters mostly league of legends
Im looking for good music/movie sound quality
something that will change my experience and take it to a new level like trying something for the first time

They're good headphones for the price, slightly v-shaped, but I doubt you would find any better closed backed headphones for the price.

Guys, I realize I might be asking for something stupid but is there an automated way of transfering the correction curve to use in EQAPO or will I have to do it by hand? I don't know if this really makes sound "neutral" like they advertise but it sure as hell gives them a really meaty bass.

Opinions?

What are the best cheap on ears like pic related?

I got thesefor 12 bucks but they only lasted a couple months before one of the ears went out.

I have a pressure point above my right ear that makes it fucking impossible to wear headphones without it hurting after long periods of time.

What the fuck do I do?

Are SHP9500S good headphones for $60, or are the better options for the price?

get speakers

Are there any good IEMs under $100 with metal housings? I was looking at pic related but apparently they've fucking been discontinued and cost $260 for a pair now.

>2017
>still compressing music files

Storage is cheap as fuck, people.

Get out of my conversation

Yes. Some audio products will indeed change sound quite noticeably, but most change very little if at all.

this user (and most other posters in these threads) don't seem understand the procedure - so I'll explain the concept:

Play brand-new audio product and give a short listen. Note its sound characteristics. Then, without listening, simply allow it to play (burn in) for some number of hours/days. After burn-in, listen again. Note change (if any) of sound characteristics. Last step, enjoy audio.

They're pretty hard to beat for that price - as long as you can deal with open back phones that have almost zero isolation.

Do you know if an AMP + DAC would help? I'm using on-board audio (ALC1150) right now.

Do you know what isolation is??

SHP's are easy to drive, so you likely won't need one unless your on board crackles or something.

Yeah, I do. Plan on using them at home.

Thanks.

Are there any IEMs that actually provide an oomph? I got Pistons recently and they sound nice but they just have the power to make me feel something.

...

Recommendation for a very comfortable over ear closed bluetooth headphone? Location Germany. Thanks beforehand.

Is there literally any reason to buy IEMs if you already own earpods?

Any differences between those?

you don't hate your ears?

Oh shit I thought I was the only one who owned these

What's a good portable amp that will power a 250ohm headphone? Id like something under a hundred

Btw they are dt 990s if that matters

Good over-ear relatively cheap headphones for working out?

Probably the exact same, but if I were you I'd go for the like new one just because it might be in more perfect condition. It's a heck of a deal, and they sound much better than the SHP9500 do.

I think I should have gotten these instead of K7xx.
I'm a little underwhelmed.

Either that, or just spent a bit more than the K7XX and got the HD600 or HD650.

youtube.com/watch?v=XGcCylruRIs
Thoughts on this video?

Loosless compression, user.

When you "zip" a file and then extract the contents, do you think you lost something in the process?

>compared to FLAC
Depends on the audio in question and the settings used to encode FLAC. FLAC can achieve over 50% file size reduction or it might be only 10% even with highest level of compression.

No if you are referring to audible structural changes in the driver because it's being used. It would basically be faulty if it did.

No. That correction is easy enough to do anyway. Don't touch the range above 3 KHz without listening to test tones such as sine sweeps.

What was the point of the procedure?

Confirmation bias and baseless assumptions; overall a waste of time for all viewers. Merely an attempt to make money off of the viewer via referral links to the products they're shilling.

Don't post shit like that here, or anywhere for that matter.

Daily reminder that Sennheiser is veiled, cheap plastic shit with muddy niggerbass and overpriced af.

See the light. Come to Beyerdynamic.

I wouldn't doubt that the HD650 would sound off to you when your brain is so used to the sound signature of your Beyerdynamics. It's what you're accustomed to.

>See the light. Come to Beyerdynamic.

You're an embarrassment.

And you're a giant cocksucking massive fucking faggot. KYS.

>one chinese plastic shit headphone is better than the other
you tried, i guess

all of you are just a rich kids who spent more than 300 bucks in plastic shit to listen shit music like Kain Guest in you pc instead of appreciate the good music and enjoy buying records, you don't need spent so much, just buy a decent headphones for 50 bucks and do it, stop postin shit stadistic like ryzben and intel fags if you plug a headphone in a mobile the signtal is shitty, if you want to real music buy a vinyl player and put Sam Cock live album

Koss porta/sporta pros.
or KSC75

learn to solder tho
itll save you a lotta money

FiiO Q1
or E17k if you want a cool display i guess

bro ryzben is betteur

innerfidelity.com/images/SennheiserHD202.pdf

Bad.

Been over a year since I bought my HD650s and I still think they're the best thing I've ever bought. Just wanted to share that with you all/

Are M40x‘es good for vidya or should I look into some open headphones for the same price instead? How badly will people complain if I'll use open headphones at night?

No problem and yeah even I was fucking done with these anime shit.

I need an affordable daily headphone and is this one okay?

Thanks Sup Forumsentlemen for suggesting these as the poor man's option. Best 24€ I've spent in a while.

At first my ears felt a bit sweaty after using these but I got used to it in a week or so. I'm thinking of getting another pair for the office so I don't have to commute with them.

Are you using the tissue mod?
It cancels the 15 dB 10khz peak a bit.

I considered the mod at first but after a while it turns out it's not an issue for me.

I have the 668b with velloure pads.
They sound really good for the price and I even prefer them over my porta pros.

This will arrive friday, did I do good?

No these sound terrible.
For 20 bucks you would be better off with a pair of Chinese iems.

yes no maybe

If you got new pads, yeah.

get hm5 pads and you are gucci

what's wrong with the stock pads. They're comfy as fuck
