Hey, user, how did you spend your weekend?

>Hey, user, how did you spend your weekend?
>Well, I learned a new programming language.
>But WHY?
>Oh well, it has some interesting stuff there. What did you do?
>I played LoL all day, plus some Minecraft and Hearthstone.

Daily reminder that this is 90% of the people you are going to meet at your average workforce that isn't one of the big 4. Absolutely ZERO enthusiasm for this field.
>Java/C# is enough for me.

Fuck these people.

Most people don't learn a new language every week, even if they're programmer hobbyists in their spare time.

This is something only nu-coder webdev shitters do in order to remain relevant because the shelf life on their tools is less than 6 months.
Remember npm? Remember bower? Remember yarn? Angular?
Nobody even uses that shit anymore.

Sorry but how is npm dead in any way?

Mad.

Sorry, im the last one because im actually stupid as fuck and seem to be unable to learn how to code.

=\

>implying the big 4 actually code something themselves

At least op is an useful idiot

I never said, and you missed the point. I learn 1 new language per year, this year it's Rust, last year was Go, Haskell, Python etc.
The point is that these people wait for the paycheck, they absolutely hate this job. Why the fuck did they choose CS then? They heard there's money here, that's why.
I can't wait for the day AI replaces these code monkeys forever.

Big 4: Alphabet, Amazon, Apple and Facebook?

Sorry but most people don't want to work on their time off

what about Google?

no fun allowed

(You)

More like "Only kind of fun allowed is the kind where you gain nothing"

Alphabet is Google obviously

So your whole life is fun?

are you fucking kidding me?

>Hey, user, how did you spend your weekend?
>Well, I learned a new programming language.
>But WHY?
>Oh well, it has some interesting stuff there. What did you do?
>We just went to a party and had lots of fun then we went to the beach with the girls and played voleyball, how about you go outside sometimes?

Why should I waste time learning some meme of the year language that I most likely never use in a production environment before it becomes irrelevant?

In my spare time in front of the computer I either learn new things about the language I actually use or work on some side projects for muh passive income

you're on Sup Forums right now...

most people would replace apple with microsoft

So what? Sup Forums is mainstream now. Most people here are normies.

Dude what are you talking about those are the only webdev shits that actually stuck

This is the correct answer to OP smugness.

Fucking told

>Hey, user, how did you spend your weekend?
>Well, I learned a new programming language.
>But WHY?
>Oh well, it has some interesting stuff there. What did you do?
>I masturbated until my dick was chafed and bleeding, and then a bit more after that.

>actually working for google
>shitpost here
what now?

I use bower npm and angular everyday in production

>average workforce that isn't one of the big 4.
Wrong. Microsoft have the shitiest programmers I have ever met. Amazon is full of normies who actually hate working there but they stay because of the money. Google used to have some good people but now they're literally hiring any idiot who had spent a couple of weeks learning Go. Facebook is full of snobs imbeciles programming in fucking PHP and using really expensive espresso machines. I don't know about Apple, but the new Mac OS is shit.

If you know what is good, believe me, stay in academia.
