So now that the dust has settled...

so now that the dust has settled, can we all agree that pic related is the most visually pleasing and silent computer case ever created?

i bought it because /g recommended it. works well and catches a lot of dust. 10/10

I prefer Iian li but Fractal does have that nice Scandinavian design

I would have gotten the gray one had it been on the same $80 deal the windowless black one was on.

Regardless I love it.

I have the define S and if you don't have a need for more than 3HDD's and 2 SSD's (or a mix) then the define S is better.
The only time the R5 is better is if you have a bay reservoir or need all the HDD slots.

This is the ideal case, anything else is nigger tier

Am I the only one who fell for the FT02 meme?

yes, because that looks stupid

Bought the R4 today because it was 20 yurops cheaper.

Was it a mistake?

>Those curved edges
>That massive bezel between the case corner and the 5.25inch bay
>Expansion bays on top of case under a literal plastic heat trapper
>3 Fans on bottom of case
Yes, you fell for the meme

I bought the R4 when it came out years ago. Great case, but it doesn't have a great airflow.

Titanium > everything else

It is the best.

The only difference is that the R4 doesn't have removable disc drive bay and you have to remove the motherboard everytime you want to use the SDD slot in the back.

I got mine three years ago, best case I've had.

yes it is

No cause all the fuckin usb3.0 ports died on me on this case for some fuckin reason

Fucking laws of the jante the case

I ended up getting the Define C since I only use SSDs

Ohshit. Accidentally bought this case second hand for an old server. Is it really that good? The cable management was god tier.

Fractal seems decent overall. I have a Node 605 and my only real complaint is that the dust filters aren't very good. Also the included fans are loud but I never use pack-in fans anyway.

You callin my baby ugly?

I look at my monitor when using computers not the internals of the pc.

the power button sticks, only one front panel USB ports work, and none of the front panel audio ports work

it is dead silent and keeps the internals clean though

Is the mini as good as the full one?

Thinking about that for my next build.

Tempered glass panels is the latest PC case meme. Won't be long before all cases have them.

Everything on the front dies one by one.
First was the audio port, then left most USB, then the USB port beside it.

Mine (define mini) is fine... after 3 years. I use the front panel heavily.

For all I know it might start falling apart the next week, but until today, not a glitch.

too bulky.

if only that thing had a 140mm fan in the front, or two - filtered

but nooo..

>silent computer case ever created?

Yes, if they fix their flimsy faggot nigger hard drive cages so they actually stop the vibrations instead of multiplying them

Out of curiosity, how exactly did you attach your harddrives to the cages to make that happen?

There's a few useful reasons to have glass
>Troubleshooting without taking side off
>Monitoring water loop for leaks
>Checking BIOS error codes if your motherboard has a display for that

Or, simply
>It looks nice and I want it
Is a valid reason. Ricing is a meme, sure, but is putting up drapes and pictures "ricing" your house? You don't need them.

My 5 spinning disks cause a constant vibration sound that is driving me insane, it's like a pulse

driving me insane desu

what for when the cooled components have almost direct access to fresh air?

youtube.com/watch?v=u2m6wsQ36EA

exactly like vid related, it stops when i put pressure over the hdd cage

Yes the dust is settled,
literally settled into those usb ports and plug holes.

Why are the only good computer cases the ones you get with workstations?

I have the mini version which is superior

yes

im not seeing any CPU or VRM airflow in that, just some honeycomb shit for GPU thats it.

Yes, but like and mentioned I also have occasional hdd vibration noise despite trying a bunch of different rubber grommet combinations and positions. Any tips for this one, niggers?

The case is only 200mm tall by 112mm wide - no way a 120mm fan will fit in the front, let alone a 140mm. Also the PSU is at the front.

The CPU cooler and PSU are on the other side of the case.

pretty cool

But probably a reason id got with m-atx instead, jut more options there, and still pretty tiny.

>59634403
I like the window edition

but yeah best case

I have a Core 2500 and it's trash, bad build quality, barely any protection against dust, one of front usb ports stopped working, fan controller is flimsy and HDD LED is too bright. Never buying fractal shit again.

use SSD

It's the superior case anyway

I have the exact same problem, fucking silent case my ass

I agree, mine is shit is heavy as fuck, yet the case still warps if you push on the top sideways. I have this irritating humming buzzing noise. My cooler master atc was quiet as fuck all aluminium, i just needed usb 3.0. Never buying fractal again

>all this plebdom

>not using anicient forbidden knowledge for higher overclock

I own the windowless version of both the Fractal Design R5 and Mini C. They are both whisper silent. The Mini C is in my bedroom which is a modest 14 x 10 foot bedroom. I cannot hear the pc at all even while sitting right next to it in the middle of the quiet night. My Mini C has four case fans — the two Fractal Design GP-12's that came with the fan plus two Noctua NF-F12's that I added. Inside the case is an i7-7700k, a Cryorig H7, an EVGA GTX 1080 Superclocked, and a Seasonic 650w SS-650KM psu. That's a lot of fans, and no noise at all eminating from my windowless Mini C.

Bonus — the cable management and overall modularity of both the R5 and Mini C are extraordinary.

Seen air intake is bad as h440

It's just a simple box.

You're totally right, what that box needs is some goofy indentations and bulges to polish the visual aesthetic

You're a bag of meat.

well, FD are not built for air intake, as much as i love R5`s design, i got the corsair 450d for the air intake... sadly, cause it is too hot for a nice case like FD R5 where i am from :(

I have a Define R3. Wish I had a newer version cause this one is not that great on the inside.

You can remove the R5's door if you need max airflow.

Or choose one of the (pic related) alternatives.

i have r5 for like 5 months now
never bother to clean it yet
how do I do it just clean the filters?
should i bother with cleaning the cables outside the case(i just put them all behind the desk so they dont look like shiet)

>most visually pleasing
looks like literally every other case made in the last 5 years

That's not the Antec P180 Mini.

No. Every case these days look factory riced with VTEC RGB autism.

>not this

The side intake triggers me beyond repair. It's just retarded. Bottom intake & clean side panel is the way to go.

i have the same case with practicallt identical specs. you must be deaf if you dont hear your 1080 while gaming

H440

>Ventilation status: happening

It is the best. People usually hate on it to be contrarian. Personally I like the window side panel, so it isn't just a black monolith on my desk.
Functionally the case top-tier.

This. It's annoying as shit and is apparently the bottom dust filter vibrating against the case from what I can find. I'm going to try and put tape around the edges of it to fatten it and make it fit more snuggly.

Yeah. It's ugly, and you don't have good taste in things. Don't worry, it's not the end of the world.

Just don't spread around your shitty taste.

rate my babe

Protective status: one spilled anything away from disaster.

if i ever build an inferior tower computer id go aim to this form factor

Too bad the front filter is a bit curved and lets in air through the cracks.

Apply canned foam to the contact areas.

It's better

You have rice in your veins. Don't be ashamed of it and try to hide it to impress a superior case design. Embrace the rice, let yourself free.

It would be, if the front filters didn't totally fuck up the air flow.

i'll take that as a compliment.

>intaking the floor dust

How is this any different from the R5?

>so now that the dust has settled
You should clean your computer more often

C70 master race

>no glass
Get this shit off my Sup Forums, fag

lmao caselets when will they learn

The R5 filters don't obstruct the flow anywhere near as much.

I think I'll remove the doors and see how well that improves my temps

Also, am I the only one not impressed with the noise level? I hear a constant low buzz from my PC. In my world silent means silent. My Ultrabook should not make less noise at idle than my "silent" PC case

Do I have to lower my case fan speeds? They're at stock settings, and the GPU fan is off when the GPU is idle

See

The bottom and the back are not padded, so it's always going to make a bit of noise.

>not disconnecting your led
cant sleep with that shit in my room tbqh

It's not that vibration. It's just the fan noise. I can tell the difference. Plus I have the define mini, not the R5.

I'll keep the front main panel shut which is what keeps in most of the noise. What I'm wondering is if remove the plastic door in front of the fan will increase airflow if the main padded door is still shut

I'm quite a fan of my 750D to be honest.

I had to do this too, holy fuck. Only thing wrong with the fractals

literally this, I ended up putting tape over the ports i don't use

The Mini C would be perfect if it were just rounder and cuter

Or Thermaltake F51 (without the tempered glass option) which is the same as the R5 with, I think, a smaller side fan aperture.

I can report its very quiet and generally solid and well put together.

No scientific view on air flow but my 7700k is running a 28 degrees, 1070 EVGA SCX3.0 (aka Firestarter Edition) is at 35 on a profile where I can't hear the case fans.

This looks better and is also "silent". Mine should be here tomorrow. Hope that fucking foam does its job.

Got Define Mini C with window, it's QT-tier
