This thread is about the appreciation of watches, as well as the micro-engineering and autism that are required to produce a superior Jaeger LeCoultre or Rolex watch.
I have the opportunity of getting a year old almost unused pic related Citizen NY0040 for $90. Y/N? Why?
Elijah Torres
At that price, for sure.
Colton Carter
I love in Europe. Wont it be a problem to source parts because Citizen discontinued their automatic divers?
Christopher Baker
show me more superior watches
Jacob Sanchez
Even more robust as no moving parts & looks better.
Camden Fisher
it's a miyota workhorse, i think you'll be fine.
Colton Reyes
Which brands will get a girls attention? Not gold digger types
Samuel Adams
There isn't, unless you happen to find the unicorn watch autist woman.
Cameron Young
What if I get like three daniel wellingtons for each wrist or two apple watches?
Eli Morgan
V O S T O K O S T O K
Jayden Ramirez
And if you DO find the unicorn watch autist woman, then the answer is you get her a vintage Grand Seiko VFA 1984-3000. The most accurate mechanical women's watch ever made. Ever. The only women's 36,000 bph movement ever made.
You can still get these for a decent price since the demand for ladies models is so low.
Justin Butler

Carson Russell
There is no women on the planet who isn't some mean, nasty dyke bitch who wants a steel gook watch.
Jordan Hill
>Not understanding the concept of a hypothetical So how is living with an autism spectrum disorder?
Isaac Robinson
Exactly the reference I was looking for.
Aaron Sanders
Fuck you, it's all coming back, now I HAVE to find my childhood books.
All this insane detail that were in these books is probably what turned me into the autist I am today.
Jaxson Brown
In terms of pilot watches, why would one buy anything other than the snk809?
Jayden Lee
In case you wanted a better movement than the 7S26.
Jonathan Roberts
Because there are a lot of dummies who think the SNK809 is supposed to be a field watch and don't realize it's a mini Type-II Flieger.
Juan Jenkins
Bad movement, imperfect dial, day and date, small size
Nicholas Barnes
Classy joint m8.
Kevin Robinson
...
Justin Cruz
>too small >day date >marked dial
Kayden Rivera
>pilot watches There's something special about them. /wt/ gets salty whenever one is posted.
Oliver Phillips
Perhaps they want: - hacking - handwinding - instant date change - a micro-adjuster - better accuracy - a less busy dial without all that text - a different flieger style dial - better quality dial - better quality case - better quality hands - no date - no day - or a chronograph, you complete mong.
Jaxon Rivera
A couple mm too small.
Adam Parker

Levi Miller
What I want is a brand commanding rescpect.
Seiko is not it, I do have two seikos but.
Jack Green
>/wt/ gets salty about a lot of stupid shit
i'd like one of those in stainless, with a mesh band like that
Asher Anderson
Anyone who does not respect Seiko is simply ignorant of horology.
The Swiss fear Seiko so much that to this day they structure the rules of their Chronometer Trials specifically to exclude Seiko in the mortal terror that Seiko with crush them all again, as it did in the late 1960s, when it BTFO'd the entire Swiss industry.
Hudson Diaz
>Commanding respect ONLY THE BOLD
Aiden Turner
>brand commanding rescpect. It's watches. At best, regular folk will notice if you have a sub.
Mason Brown
>a brand commanding rescpect That is some seriously beta shit right there.
Jackson Hughes
I got you senpai
Jaxson Ramirez
Any good guide on how to reprint a dial? Some bozo ruined the dial of the Soviet Amphibia I got by treating it with some kind of disgusting sticky lacquer that had all the debris and shit stuck in it. The only way I could remove it is to melt the dial print and the white paint on the indices off along with it. All that's left is the lume dots and the otherwise good-looking blue sunburst base color.
I COULD get another 18 jewels dial for it for cheap, but there's no challenge in that, so I'll try to reprint it first. Any ideas how?
Kayden Green
The new GS diver looks sexy as fuck
Dominic Lopez
I like the number of responses I got.
The only one to ever notice my tag Aquaracer was some fat guy with a nato strapped seiko diver pacing near me.
Its all a waste of time
For myself, maybe a new red Blacked Bay
Justin Cook
Apple Watch Seiko
Cameron Harris
46mm though
Asher Baker
what watch should I get for my dick?
Blake Sanchez
The spring drive is so cool, why not promote it
And why that Rolexue hand
And that texture dial
I like texture but why that
Christopher Reed
The dial is okay for a diver but agree the hand is appalling. (it's a good shape to get lots of lume on of course, but still)
I guessed that much, but I don't want to feel like I "cheated" by replacing the dial, even if this is probably a franken already.
Jayden Fisher
Also not exactly what I meant. My dial is basically a sterile blue sunburst now, I want to reprint stuff like the minute markers, the Vostok, the 18 jewels and the made in USSR text. See pic in
Eli Evans
how big are your faget wrists?
Aaron Gray
Can't decide if I like the old numbers better than the new Roman numerals
Justin Diaz
those aren't rolex hands and that's not a spring drive
Connor Lewis
They've already had GS divers for a long time. And it's clearly not a rolex hand.
Nathan Parker
Oh my god that is so not what I meant
Thomas Perry
Its a rolex Mercedes hand.
And why are they not pushing spring drives? Thats some amazing tech.
Wyatt Mitchell
7.5 inches, but 46mm is too damn big for everyone.
James Edwards
They are, you can buy a fucking spring drive GS diver right now. An automatic one on the other hand is something they've never had until now.
Ryder Sanchez
>Its a rolex Mercedes hand. No it's not.
>And why are they not pushing spring drives? Thats some amazing tech. are you retarded?
Daniel Bailey
>it's a rolex mercedes hand not even a little bit.
Eli Perez
Can anyone recommend a discreet, robust, everyday digital watch? I'm looking to spend about $350.
Caleb Turner
GWM5610
Lucas Mitchell

What color bands go well with a black or very dark gray watch?
Christian Long
Yella
Justin Rodriguez
>Black >grey >red >canary yellow only one at a time
Hunter Barnes
Thank you, looks nice!
Bentley Lopez

Colton Gutierrez
Is Sinn a shitter brand? I'm wrestling with a trap where if you will spend 1500 well then you might as well spend 3000 which is practically 5. So, buy or save?
Bentley White
>Its a rolex Mercedes hand. Yeah they're identical...
Oliver Brown
Pulsar PW3001.
Oliver Roberts
the only sinn I intend to buy is the 104 and that is because I feel like it is the ideally designed tool watch with sapphire, water resistance, day date, countdown bezel. And I am fond of its aesthetic
the rest of my watches will likely be below 500 or above 3000
so the answer is buy the Sinn if you like it and want to keep it forever, otherwise go higher or lower
Josiah King
>Its a rolex Mercedes hand. Fuck no.
>And why are they not pushing spring drives? They are. This is probably the first mechanical grand seiko diver. The rest is spring drive or quartz or something.
Henry Allen
Be honest, /wt/, how many watch bands do you have?
Brayden Jenkins
>Is Sinn a shitter brand? Watches are shitters, not brands. On the whole, Sinns are expensive tool watches. Some are OK, some are overpriced 2824s dumped in a case.
>how many watch bands do you have? 3 Natos, 2 alligator, 2 calfskin, plus some worthless junk straps
Matthew Torres
>Watches are shitters, not brands. Please, some brands are entirely garbage without exception.
David Rodriguez
>Please, some brands are entirely garbage without exception. Absolutely, and some /wt/-tard will interpret this as "all watches produced by a brand that has made or is remotely connected to a shitter is a shitter brand"
Then they make the ETA connection to Lemania, and the Lemania connection to Patek, and conclude that Patek is an ETA shitter brand...
Lovely thread this.
David Long
tried to replace my watch strap without a spring bar tool and now I can't get the fuckers back in there
Benjamin Torres
fingernails or a thin knife blade
Jayden Brown
Because it's awkwardly small, the dial is kind of ugly, and the movement is unimpressive even after swallowing its lack of hacking and handwinding. The SNK series is very poor against magnetic fields, rarely adjusted well enough for even recreational aviation purposes, and too small to read in flight deck conditions. In other words, it is even less suited to the actual task of piloting a vehicle than the worst uncertified "diver style" 3-bar WR shitter is suited to the task of diving.
My SKX013 never been serviced and it's running really A LOT faster than it should. What can i do at home with it? There's nothing but batterymonkeys in my town so i don't trust them.
Jacob Sanchez
>he fell for the seiko meme
Colton Adams
i brought it like 3 years ago when i started to frequent this thread i'm also poorfag as fuck so the only other watch i have is a Mako i used to have a OG Pebble and a Komandirskie but those are gone
Jack Hughes
just memeing you m8 pop it open and regulate it using wildspectra WUS should have a guide on how to use it
Kayden Lewis
Pretty much all the negative comments do not hold up well. >Cant hack I really could care less, if I needed that level of precision I would wear a quartz. >Too small Well it fits my wrists perfectly >Not a good movement Mine only loses 30s per week.. for a mechanical watch under $100 that's a great deal >Not a true field watch Its quite durable and scratch resistant and actually looks good in many situations
I think most are just salty that such a watch can perform so well against much more expensive mechanical watches.
Aiden Edwards
>Mine only loses 30s per week
Nathan Butler
>The Swiss fear Seiko so much that to this day they structure the rules of their Chronometer Trials specifically to exclude Seiko in the mortal terror that Seiko with crush them all again, as it did in the late 1960s, when it BTFO'd the entire Swiss industry.
They also ban all Burgers from competing too but let's ignore that so you can shill your gook company right!
Jayden White
>Things got even better in 1966, with 32 movements qualifying and the best placing ninth. Daini Seikosha rose to third place in the manufacturer rankings. In 1967, the best movement, a cal. 052, from Seiko took fourth place, out of a 62 movements which qualified as chronometers. The first placed manufacturer that year was Omega, followed by Daini Seikosha and Suwa Seikosha.
>Seiko never managed to do any better, for in 1968 theNeuchâtelObservatory cancelled its chronometer contests for good – 1967 was the last year it ran the contest. Seiko instead headed to Geneva for theConcours de Genèveorganised by the Observatory of Geneva.
>In Geneva Seiko proceeded to take fourth to tenth place in the wristwatch movement category, with first to third place occupied by the quartz Beta 21 movement fromCentre Electronique Horloger, an enterprise backed by the Swiss watch industry. That meant that the Seiko movements were the top finishers in the mechanical movement category.
>After Seiko’s victories in 1968, the Geneva observatory thencancelled its contests in 1968, ending the long tradition of Swiss observatory timing trials.
Mason Sullivan
>The ban all Burgers from competing too What did he mean by this?
