Should I upgrade my S7 to S8? I don't want to be left behind in the tech race bros

How bad is IPS LCD really?
I'm used to AMOLED at low brightness, would I regret purchasing an otherwise nice LCD phone?

Should I buy mate 8 or 9? Is the difference in price noticeable in quality?

I just want a big ass phone to watch shit on with good battery life. But I don't want it to be slow

yes of course, you wouldn't want your friends laughing at your old-ass phone

I know! Shit man that would be horrible. I also keep a spare iphone 7s on me at all times

when do the new Nokia phones come out in US?

S8+.

Next month.

Sup Forums's opinion of the Priv seems to be extremely mixed. Some people here love it, others hate it with a passion (although I suspect a lot of the ahte comes from people who have never owned one). I've had one since June 2016 and here is what I can tell you.

The build quality is good, and Blackberry's take on Android is on the whole probably the best out there (stock with just a few minor UI modifications). It's zippy enough in everyday usage but it really isn't meant for gaming or very processor-intensive tasks because heat is an issue and it was not really the fastest pone when released. The hardware keyboard is good, better than most virtual keyboards but not as good as the one on the Classic. Security updates come monthly but OS updates are slow and it probably will not get upgraded past Nougat, if it makes it that far. Camera is decent. Battery life is good but not outstanding.

Overall I like it, has some good bits of nostalgia harkening back to the days of my Bold, but it does have issues and future support is questionable. If I were you, I would wait and get the KeyOne.

What's a good site to order the leeco le max 2 from? I don't want chinks to steal my shekels.

kimovil.com/en/where-to-buy-leeco-le-max-2

Yeah, I know that lists a bunch of chink stores. What I was asking was more so specific recommendations since I haven't ordered anything chinkshit related in years. Is banggood a decent service to order from?

My oneplus 3t midnight black (LIMITED EDITION) is waiting for me when I get home. Going to replace the first generation Moto G, which held strong for almost 4 years.

It still works, but the 8gb is constantly full with only 3 or so extra apps installed above stock apps. Am I a consumerist for getting a "limited edition" phone? Does Sup Forums approve?

>mfw my phone has more ram than sgs8

gearbest

Yes.
If Your'e in Europe check out Ibuygou, honorbuy, flosmall.

Stores on Ali are alright too if they have good rating and feedback. >97% is good enough.

Xiaomi Max or S8?

Thanks.

are xiaomi phones actually good?
are they better than huawei phones?

No. they're just cheaper.

S8 obviously.

LOL

Is that all Samsung could bring? Literally muh bigger screen and edgy aspect ratio fucking over 9/10 apps currently available? No battery innovation? No compact version or foldable screen? Why would anyone buy this? It has no significant advantage over the s7. Haha Samshit is finished.

Are chinkphones the only real option if I don't want to spend a fortune?
I'm done with LGs desu. Build quality is pretty terrible.

S8 850euros
LG G6 900 euros
Xperia ultra oremium 1000e

love these meme prices

>phone doesn't list in adb

kill me now

Name ONE reason you wouldn't get a OnePlus over any other high end brand? What do these more expensive phones do better than OP3? A better logo?

Does the home button on the s7 s8 really make a difference?

I've had an HTC 610 for almost 3 years and don't know anything about each except the s7 is a button and the s8 is touch screen, which I've been using with my 610

>Am I a consumerist for getting a "limited edition" phone?
not necessarily

>Does Sup Forums approve?
for asking that though, yeah

What's the difference between s8 and s8 edge ?

it's too big. If it were a 5 inch phone I'd get one honestly.

Ay I thought I was alone in this

Pretty much

Get the phone's driver dipshit

S8 plus is 6.2 inches vs 5.8 inches. It also has 3500 mah battery to 3000 on s8 regular. Otherwise the same.

So, what are you guys gonna replace the Bixby button with?

Does /g recommend the Honor 8?

Get the Mate 9

Get the galaxy mate 8

Who else is hyped for this thing to show up in the West?

>3000 mAh battery, same as the S8, but paired with a Snapdragon 430

The battery life on this thing is going to be insane. Also

>Completely stock Android with zero bloatware
>monthly security updates
>1080p screen
>16 megapixlel camera
>$250

Maybe look at the Moto G5 plus. The biggest advantage of that phone to me is that it already comes with stock Android so you don't need to bother fucking around with customs roms. And the SD 625 seems okay.

Also the Moto Z Play is occasionally on sale refurbished for around $200-300.

it's literally twice as expensive, h8 is the max of my budget
i'll get the HT-Sony iMi Galaxy Mate P2 Ultra Note

I don't think its compatible with sprint

Yes bretty good phone for tha price. Good design too.

It worked.. thanks man

Too bad all their phones will be yuge.
I liked my E7 until it decided to stop charging.

Hot damn, does it also have USB C?

Okay my LG G5 is acting up and probably just gonna find a different phone.

What phone should I get? I'm thinking about the s8 and did think about the LG G6 but don't wanna get burned by LG again.

I checked the specs and it seems like they even managed to squeeze NFC in there too. I don't mind the SD 430 as long as they managed to make good hardware and software.

Tired of cheap phones with powerful snapdragon CPUs but terrible software. I wonder if the Nokia phone includes things like tap to wake or the off screen gestures in Moto phones?

The camera on the OP3T is subpar.

Particularly when it comes to capturing things in motion, or during low-light conditions.

mkbhd pls go

No

No. They're planning to bring out 6 models this year so they might still have something to your liking in the nearby future.

github.com/los-kenzo/downloads/blob/lk-7.1/README.md

Just giving my fellow redmeme users a heads-up in case you didn't know this nigga fixed the video recording issue with the default camera. No patches needed anymore just flashed it and it works perfectly so far.

Anyone else hoping for a good midrange chipset to come out soon?

SD625 is kinda slow, SD653 is underclocked overpriced 28nm garbage, SD810 is just plain crap, Mediatek has terrible battery life and even worse support.
I think the sweet spot would be 2xA73 cores at 2.3-2.7GHz to keep the single core perf on par, and 4xA53 cores at 1.6-2GHz for power efficiency, something like an updated SD650/SD808.

Check out the bend test and teardown videos by JerryRigEverything if you haven't already. The phone is an absolute brick, in the good way.

Considering getting the s8+ because my current phone is dying at a too fast pace for me to wait on note8 and mi mix 2.

Am I making a mistake?

Are stock android, mid-end phones comfy?

Yeah.

I like the new Xperia phones. If the new iPhones are shit I'll probably go that route.

Poor build quality, camera and screen. You have to be delusional if you think that the these budget phones are overall as good as the flagships.

G6. Samsung software is crap

I have a Redmi 3 Pro with a 616 and I have no issues running anything except games. Do you really need much more than this?

SD660 will be close to SD820 in performance but I think it's months away before we start seeing it in phones.

Honestly though what's wrong with SD625/SD650? I think they're perfectly fine for everything but the most demanding games. I like the SD625 especially because it manages to be so power efficient since it's 14nm.

The comfiest phone I ever owned was a first gen Moto G.

What carrier does the majority of this general recommend if I want to just be able to browse the internet and watch videos all day everywhere at anytime and occasionally text mom that I'm not dead yet

I've seen lag on mid-end phones, my brother's Lenovo has an 8x1.7GHz A53 chipset and yet it occasionally stutters.

The most intense things I do on my phone is have 15-20 tabs of porn+desktop sites open, and play Zynga poker sometimes and yet most non-flagship phones can lag while switching tasks.

The old fabrication process, pretty much. Compare the average battery life of SD625 and SD650/652 phones on gsmarena.

The only phone I'm looking forward to right now is the Mi6, both LG and Samsung have disappointed me big time - LG with the last-gen chipset and cameras which are supposed to be the main selling point, and Samsung with the year old camera, no stereo speakers, retarded fingerprint sensor position and no 1000fps.

Is the huawei p10 any good? My htc one m9 is starting to die and i'd like a phone with better performance without going any larger.

iPhones ips lcds are very washed out once you see the blacks compared to amoled (esp. samoled)

you can rearrange the order on the screen. hands-on people at the event said they did good

Mm, I guess. I don't really have more than 4-5 tabs open on my phone. I do have a lot on my tablet and PCs though.

both are edge
this

Still using my 6P.

Hoping the Pixel 2 isn't shit. If it is then lol not buying a smartphone for another year.

Is the Blade v8 pro the best budget phone this year? Need to get my dad a new cheap (

1. Does your current [technology thing] fit your needs?

2. Can you live without the new [technology thing] features?

If you answered no to either question, then you can start weighing the pros and cons of upgrading.

Otherwise, save your money and wait until your answers change. This should work for most tech upgrades.

Do you think the next oneplus model would go down in price? I want the T3 but I don't really need a new phone yet. My S5 is still doing ok, just the battery isn't lasting as long as it used to

That, Honor 6X or Moto G5 Plus

Hey guys I'm looking to upgrade from my iphone 4.

I'm looking for a chink phone. I don't know much about android but I'd like to be able to optimize it for speed and to be able to do things a Apple phone wouldn't let you.

I'm willing to spend a maximum of around £400 but I'm liking the look of the ZUK Z2,

I read the huawei phones like the honor 8 haven't got much customization or something?

The One Plus 3T was looking good but I'm not sure if it's worth when the ZUK Z2 is just so cheap and seems almost equal aside from camera.

Is the difference between the ZUK Z2 and the PRO worth the £100 difference?

please help I've had this damn iphone for so long because I can never decide on a phone.

Oh my PC has a lot of tabs open as well, usually 25-40, half of which are Youtube. Thankfully I've got 24GBs of RAM on it so it holds up well even with a shitty Xeon.

My phone is atm a 6S and it's holding up surprisingly well as it only has a dual core SOC.

Are you sure that Lenovo phone wasn't running a custom skinned android that made it run a little laggy?

>that edge
>it distorts pictures
>it reflects light from basically any angles right into your eyes
I'm so triggered by that design choice. I hope the LG G6 is as good if not better, because I really need a replacement for my four years old smartphone now.

I put on Google Now launcher or whatever it's called and it looks pretty much stock except that it's got a white theme where it's usually black so only visual stuff.

Doubt it'd affect CPU intensive tasks that much anyway.

If you want something that can be scratched only by diamonds, but can't hold falling from any height higher than an inch and a half, that has the most retarded location of a frontal camera ever seen on any device, that has a piezoelectric speaker that will make every phone call sound like an AM radio, and that is also a chink piece of shit, then get the Mi Mix.

I keep getting upgrade fever for my Moto G3 but I realize that I don't really need to. Waiting for my USB port to actually stop working (it's getting loose).

I just tell myself that everything will be better and cheaper in 6 months.

Does this mean the ZUK Z2 will work in the UK on o2?

>G5 is acting up
Hoo boy, I wonder what could be causing this.

I preordered the s8+ today. Im coming from my nexus 6p, and that screen looks amazing. I saw it today and the image looks so good.

it won't get full coverage

just get a z2 pro, it has a shitload of bands including the ones you need

Id go with the G6... But fuck would i be worried about the bootloops.

S8 is the better phone, but the LG layout is nicer imo, and i'm sure it'll be $100-200 cheaper on the S8 release. Plus touchwiz is fuckign cancer.

Actually I've never encountered the boot loop.

LG V10 user here. Should I just go ahead and get the G6 or wait until the S8 gets a price drop?
given my V10 doesn't bootloop until then
Everyone else is shriking the forehead and chip, and practically has no side bezel... Sony is GROWING theirs.

fucking ridiculous.

Though i bet the sony will have have the nicest feel to the hardware, and less obtrusive overlay on android.

Best chink phone under $200 that works on us bands

Fuck, that thing looks like the BLOX2 without the front flash and fingerprint scanner

Your USB port may be a bit dirty. Pocket lint is especially good at that. Try cleaning it with a needle and some compressed air.

Did wonders for my old S3 before I replaced it.

LeEco LeMax 2 on gearbest 4GB/64GB model

can i get a link

This, LeEco Le Max 2. It's cheaper from Banggood though
kimovil.com/en/where-to-buy-leeco-letv-le-max-2-4gb-64gb-x829

Just google leeco lemax 2 x829

Galaxy S5 user thinking about upgrading to the S8+ since I've always liked large displays. Will I get shilled by Verizon if I do the pay monthly plan over two years? I can trade in the S5 and get the $35 price chopped to $20 per month.

What runs faster? SD625 or SD801

Would I notice significant speed increases upgrading from a One m8 to some 625 device?

No, more like a lateral than an upgrade or a downgrade but you will notice significantly better battery life and you'll have quick charge to boot, if you're not gaming who gives a shit?
