Sounds odd. Wouldn't be surprised if Samsung just makes an update to their Android that will override default behavior when nothing is set in the xml so apps that don't update to specifically prevent expanding to the new aspect ratio won't look dumb.

Refactoring your app for 24 may be a little more work, if any of the old functions have changed, but it will increase the forwards compatibility of your application, something you clearly care about if you are going to update your app anyway to work properly on newer aspect ratios.

Basically it makes more sense to target the newer API if you are actively developing your apps than it does to be a retard and just add the metadata.

If it's like the OLED display they use in the Apple Watch (2), it's going to look like absolute fucking shit compared to the IPS LCD they already use.
