I'm a CS student and I have to make a game within Thursday in my first elective course using Unity and C#.
Any ideas?

Then flesh it out with as much content as you can.
Or you can ask these autists.
Did something like this for an assignment.
Just do some sort of 2D Platformer.
easiest thing ever.
Why did you censor the deadline when you've literally told us that it is due to thursday
Install Gentoo simulator.
Use sprites from:
spriters-resource.com
And use arranged versions of videogame music ( anything by S.S.H will do)
Even if the game itself is shit It will look better than 90% of what your mates work.
Try to do a shmups.
example:
youtube.com
That game looks good and it's only a collage of sprites from another games (TF4 , Aleste , etc...) made in game maker.
"Normal" Shmups and bullet hells are always a good option
Also don't try to be original with the gameplay, just copy everything from other games
>make a game
>using c#
what meme school are you going to user?
disgusting normie shit
That doesn't sound like a CS course at all
What languages do you think games are made in? C and Python?
cryengine or unrealengine
I can make the logo.
Just make your own engine in c++
Only plebs use unity or crymeariverengine.
>Unity
STOP USING THIS MEME GODDAMNIT
games should be made in c/c++ or lower. Java might arguably be ok.
c# is a meme language made by microshoft because they wanted to put their own spin(tm) on the programing world. Even they dont use that shit for anything that matters.
Same thing applies to swift, but I think the poor fucks at apple actually have to use it for stuff.
>languages
>gives a game engine
Those are written in C++ (which is the lingua franca for game dev) but provide bindings for C# as well.
>I'm a CS student
I think making his own engine is too much for an assignment.
>games in C or lower
Good luck with that. But yes C# is shit.
>>languages
>>gives a game engine
wrong, cod for example is written in quake engine
Make a shitty mario clone. I threw one together for a class and was pretty easy even with my 0 knowledge of physics in games
Games should be made using whatever tool is suitable for the purpose and whatever tool the creator is comfortable with. Snobbery will get you nowhere.
>Music should be made in protools
>images should be edited in photoshop
>drawings should be done in H2 pencil only
>painting should be done with oil based paint only
Aye..that type of snobbery is everywhere.
Tetris
60+ students are taking the course but the specific deadline narrows it down to TA session groups with only 5-10 students.
I'm on my second year. I have already suffered through discrete math, algorithms, data structures and databases.
Still doesn't sound like a CS course. It's overly specific in its requirements. What is this even supposed to be, a course on using Unity?
It's heavily coding focused.
CS shouldn't be a coding camp
