It's where your hand is located at when holding a phone. You don't need a bezel at the top, because what for? Therefore it's located at the bottom, where it's not standing between the user and the screen.

Pretty large gap there between the notification bar icons and the actual top of the display, have to wonder what the fuck is going on with that phone. Yes the rounded display is noticeable as well but irrelevant in the big picture.

Other Android devices don't have a 1/8" gap between the top of the notification bar icons and the screen itself, barely 1/32" most of the time so that's a pretty big gap as stated.

On most Android devices, the default font in use would make the notification bar icons about 1/8" to 3/32" tall, it's not difficult to just look at the fucking picture and realize you could fit an entire other notification bar on top of what's already there in that gap space as shown clearly in that fucking picture.
