Work in a computer lab at college

>work in a computer lab at college
>get people coming up to me a few times a week saying our pc is being hacked
>go to see what's going on
>it's a website telling them they need to pay for a windows license or some other thing pretending to be windows related shit demanding they call a number
>force close all the popups and ask them how they got there
>every time it's an ad at the top of google.com or bing.com

The fuck. You can't even be safe going to google.com? The worst part is the website address is obstruficated behind a Google or Bing URL so you can't even tell it's legit by mousing over it.

And no, we can't install adblockers. They would cause 10 times as many issues.

Install uBlock Origin and learn how manage it so it doesnt bother people.

Its a browser hijacker. Easily fixed

this.

OP you're retarded.

>And no, we can't install adblockers. They would cause 10 times as many issues.
Like the one you're describing? Do the needful and kys pajeet.

>2 people complaining their pc has been hacked
>vs 20 people complaining about websites not working

>>every time it's an ad at the top of google.com or bing.com
That is most likely completely unrelated to google and bing. The malware exists elsewhere and is injecting extra content into the webpages visited, and since google and bing are some of the most visited websites overall, it's only natural that the malware would target requests for those sites in particular.

The actual source of the malware is from somewhere else.

Honestly speaking, you'd be better off wiping the computers clean en masse and then use adblocking software from the start, because in the situation you're describing an adblocker wouldn't do shit.

This link doesn't go to malware for you? Pic related if you wanna see how i found it.

135057201.r.bat.bing.com/?ld=d3DGIDZI0S6RDenSNRg90BIzVUCUyFEi9ITQrPOBMNqABhKNaE5X_m_DSGUTsgcPunhBJQRqjYvKRJXOAoiRiLYF2d-Uo2JF8o4KdqP98AY4JFUuB7BqIFPg0xyPeg7mDhcaXrHd3Bc0ELwp1PNnDe3u6c7p4SKnlZTiPy6NvMlGzcRoa1&u=http://visittrack.org/2/index.php

Nope, goes to youtube.com/channel/UCCzDQmO5GUYDd8ZSbptSF1Q for me.

Whether the link itself leads to malware or not is irrelevant since the malware on the computer has already injected the webpages, causing the displayed links to lead to bad shit.

Try doing the same search on bing from a trusted computer and see if you're getting linked to the same shit.

Hmmm...it does for me too. And same with the PC that had malware on it. I guess I thought it was another link.

>And no, we can't install adblockers. They would cause 10 times as many issues.
stop working there

>And no, we can't install adblockers.

Sorry, but that's your only solution. If adblockers cause problems, then you just learn to live with the problems. Being a college computer lab, it would be very reasonable to enforce an adblocker requirement, and then simply tell people "it's lab policy -- you need to learn to live with it".

We've reached a point where the web is simply unusable without adblockers. You need to start facing facts.

I get it.
>2017
>clicking ad links

Note I went to Bing and clicked on their link, I didn't use the url posted.

I guess it randomly picks computers to malware.

Work in desktop support for a school district, we have this happen literally everyday.
At first i tried to educate people on how this is just an ad and you can close it but the next day the same people will ask for our help with the same problem.

It's not malware, just a scam site.

i don't get an ad there

>asks for help
>blacks out URL
what is wrong with you

browser is hijacked hence why you're getting weird ads.

>Not blocking ads on a router level

>websites not working
The fuck? What website would stop working with an adblocker that is needed on a computer lab class?
I hardly believe there is such a thing

>we can't install adblockers

You could block ads in the host file, specially if you know the troublesome ones. This doesn't matter though, because your problem has nothing to do with ads. Your computers are full of malware and you're too dumb to even know it.

>every time it's an ad at the top of google.com or bing.com

That's bullshit, they were watching porn.

^ These retards actually think all the college lab pcs are infected with malware. Try taking Introduction to Computer Security next semester.

Just install adblock Pajeet.

You are retarded. Those college students are retarded. You need to be fired. They need to get expelled. This is the caliber of person graduating and people wonder why we have so many problems popping off. Unbelievable.

>they think that all the computers in a LAN are infected with a browser hijacker that spreads to LANs just because the OP picture is the creen of a browser hijacker AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA like niggas, educate yourselves ASHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

duckduckgo master race

The first time I clicked it it popped up a page listing my ISP and saying something about how internet was disabled, with the generic chrome "no internet" dinosaur.

Every time after that brings me to the actual youtube channel page

>go to the computer lab to write a paper
>one of the sources is an article on Forbes or WSJ or [insert leftie approved source here]
>try to load it
>"PLEASE DISABLE ADBLOCK TO VIEW THIS SITE"

You do realize that computer labs in colleges aren't just for computer classes, don't you? And don't even try to dodge the point by saying "Get a better source" I'm not speaking for myself, I'm speaking for normies who are too retarded for that and just want to bullshit their paper and get on with their lives.

remember when hiro had the same shit on 4chin?

wew lad

you're such a degenerate IT guy it's unreal
I can't even visit your fucking link let alone get infected by it and I'm on my home network
imagine how well protected offices I work for are...

this is why I get idiots like you fired constantly

why cant g learn to code?

Next time click on and ad or video inspect it n ull see a javascripy function the redirects u to those shtty spam telling u to download something, it literally says somethibg like on click 50% redirect here or bs, its literally put there by the owners of the site

>article on Forbes or WSJ or [insert leftie approved source here]
Why don't you just use a BETTER source instead of those shitty sites that try to force you to disable an adblock? Damn, its not like there is just 1 or 2 sites on the entire internet

wow

ublock origin doesn't have that problem now ABP does because they fucking suck dick.
Tails Linux even dropped ABP because it sucks

uBlock origin actually still has problems with anti-Adblock stuff sometimes, but it depends on the site, browser, day of the week, and phase of the moon as to whether the anti-anti-adblock works.

That's not the real bing

Where do I apply for my own Bing subdomain?

>work at a computer lab at college
>blame his malware ridden computers on google.com
>don't know how to manage adblockers
Jesus christ I would be afraid to connect to wifi you are probably also managing

>lets lab computers run a local admin
please get back to toilet cleaning activities.

it's not a subdomain of bing. What these scammers do is that they buy domains that look similar to other sites to trick people into clicking on their ads

>it's not a subdomain of bing
>bat.bing.com is not a subdomain of bing.com

I use adblock but I remember the Sup Forumsedditers complaining about it

>2017
>Bing now host fake tech support redirects on their servers

The real question is why the students are allowed to use nonscholarly sources. Explain this OP.

Your university must be really shitty if it limits you in which websites you are allowed to use.

Its not bing its a browser hijacker, fucking christ op just get rid of it

please learn to fucking speak before posting here

Linux doesn't have this problem
Firefox with uBlockO doesn't have this problem

Don't install an adblocker then, just add StevenBlack hosts file to the hosts. It will cause 0 problems and cannot be deleted without root privileges.

OP is a faggot, like always.

Get these all the time working desktop support. One even prompted the user with a fake windows authentication prompt. The user luckily didn't fall for the bait, shit is annoying, but luckily easy to get rid of/fix.

This is the most pajeet thing I've ever read
>Your Windows 10 licence has been corrupted

Are you literally ten?

not having more spyware installed doesnt mean leddit.

what you mean, is there a way to subscribe to an exception list, just you subscribe to rule lists?

.. i guess, if its really that bad, a solution would be to subscribe to a single list managed by you,

where you run a server that automatically pulls from all lists, parses them removing the exceptions that wont break the websites that your coworkers need, so every one complaint about ublock, and you push an updated exception on everyone

Easy fix- whip up a VM and run pihole. Make a forwarder in your DNS server pointing to the PI hole. Bam, now all clients getting DNS from that server will have adblocking

Block porn sites. Problem solved.

>fake privacy master race
ddg, based on USA
shady tactics archive.is/qntuk

use instead:
ixquick or searx

Came here to say this. If any problems crop up, you can find the solution in one hosts file and fix it quickly.

>work in a computer lab at college

You are ripping off your college. Do the right thing and quit so they can hire someone with minimal clue.

> t. I was Sys Admin for several computer labs at a major university, about 800 computers most days; would gladly fire retards like you whenever I could

That's not a real college. In all my years I have never heard of such sources being acceptable for anything unless a professor explicitly states for you to use them. You do realize there are anti-adblock blockers right?

21st century. Having computer labs. Lol. Next up, phone booths.

>we can't install adblockers

just install uBo fuck the rules. nobody will notice

Use an Adblocker Blocker Blocker. Yes, it's retarded. Maybe we are all dead and are already in hell.

Ugh I know I like totally can't even right now! Groan zone!
