If I buy a Galaxy S8 directly from Samsung's website, can I get T-mobile (my carrier) to unlock it?

If I buy a Galaxy S8 directly from Samsung's website, can I get T-mobile (my carrier) to unlock it?

its already unlocked

Samsung makes you select the carrier.

Best Buy was supposedly selling them unlocked, though the links are gone now.

Anyhow, I think i you ay off the phone in full T-Mobile will unlock it. Maybe you might need to have service for a period of time. Check their faq.

Samsung's website has a really nice promo which is why I wanna buy from Samsung...
$99.99 for VR headset/headphones and 256GB sd card... I don't use VR headset but a 256GB sd card is normally ~$150 by itself.
If I buy through Samsung, how would T-Mobile know if I've paid it off or not?

>touchwizz

Small price to pay. All other Android phones are trash

>Oneplus 3T

You don't need to buy through Samsung.

I used my JoD and am Eligible for the $100 bundle.

When you get your phone you choose the free headset or the $100 bundle.

The $100 bundle is a coupon for Samsungs site that gets you the gear vr, headphones, and memory card for $100

>never settle
>no sd card

I don't think I'm registered with Jump

It doesn't matter.

You can buy or lease the phone through t mobile for the promo.

Read the promotion site, it's all there.

The main issue is I want the phone unlocked...

You can buy it directly from T-mobile and they'll unlock it if you pay it off.

Any chance of unlocking (even temporary) if I'm financing it?

>Samsung
>Not apple
Stop reading.

I'm also considering a GS8 but really need it unlocked. I went to T-Mobile and they said they had an app on their variant that allows for "instant" roaming unlock or something. Has anyone read anything about this mystical app?

>touchjizz

No. It won't be your phone until you pay it off.

There is no unlocked version, even thru Best Buy.

>Nexus 6P

samsung has their own finance account. It won't be tied to t-mobile's finance dept.
