Guts thread.
Unreleased Beta BIOS edition.

Trying to get 3200 running reliably on Ryzen is ebin! :-DDDD

1800X and a K7. Waiting for Cryorig AM4 brackets to get that damn 212 Evo out of here.

Such is life on the edge.

Intel is housefire garbage, cant wait for 7nm ryzen to get rid of this fucking housefire

I'm waiting for Vega myself. I have a 1440p 144Hz monitor and while my RX480 can typically push 60FPS and higher in most games I play, I want those extra frames cause 144hz is creamy smooth. Had the RX480 before I got this monitor and it always maxed out my 1080p 60hz panel.

Only Intel or NVidia CPU/GPU products I've ever used are ones I've gotten for literally free. Though I don't have a real problem with either company, AMD always seems to cater well to my wants.

The beta BIOS Gigabyte put up on their forums seems to be working well for me.

Orange LEDs are so comfy.

>hyper 212 with push/pull meme fans

mein neger. why that orientation tho?

orange leds looked like shit, blue ones looked better

Because I picked up the $2 bracket for an H212 I already had. The bracket mounts the H212 to the stock AM4 plastic cooler mounts that come with any board, but it forces that orientation. I run my Cryorig R1U in front to back but can't put it in yet. Not going to afro-engineer a solution for that one, it's fucking heavy. I bought this H212 and those fans in like '14 I didn't know any better but it functions so yay.
they were white but I dunno, I change it up. I typically just leave them off but the orange reminds me of the glow of an Intel housefire.

Let's just let this thread die here

"no"

What the fuck man, every time I see that card I seriously consider selling mine and buying one even though it's less powerful. That is my favorite GPU design of all time, I hope a vega looks that nice. I also think you did a good job with the cables and your tiny cpu cooler is qt.
I comment on yours all the time but I like the patrician tier open loop. Water cooling really excels at silent cooling and GPU cooling. I think I get similar performance from my dual AIO set up and I got the 980ti for $350 and the cpu cooler for $100 so I can't justify it right now. You're getting so much value out of that 290, it's essentially just a 480 now but it's been out for so fucking long.
Logical little build. My tower is on the floor otherwise I'd be a SFX nerd too. Get a piece of tape and bring those case cables together. Dust your fans. Consider nzxt g10/cheap 120mm aio for the GPU. Big fan of water cooling gpus.

My computer looks totally different in every picture I take but this is definitely final form for the cooling config. Performance is god tier. 6600k 4.8ghz, 980ti 1550mhz, ddr4 3733 cl14 samsung bdie. case is a p400

Same compooper

I think i honestly like the experience i got with the 290x more than the 4850

it being a 4 year old gpu that can still do 1440p max(ish) graphics at 60fps is still amazing to me

ES 2690v3

I respect your god tier timing on your purchases. Nothing can really rival a 4850 - > 290x -> vega? upgrade path. It's just incredible value. Maybe some of the guys that do clever things like buying into a line of GPUs and selling right before the next iteration comes out get a bit better value but it's debatable.

I currently own a 760, 1060 6gb, and 980ti waiting for something to catch my eye so I can sell them all and step up from 1080p but if I buy 1440p I know I'll just regret it in a year or two.

Was the loop basically trivial to assemble? From what I've gathered the only legitimately "difficult" part is hard tubing because you need to practice. If I do go open loop I'm going to try to max out the value of it and use a lot of hardware store parts, universal gpu block, probably soft tubing, etc.
I have never seen such a nice loop in my life. I want to violently suck your cock

honestly i was going to buy a 7970, but i fell for the """""high"""""" end android tablet meme which costed me $500, i might upgrade to vega, ill see if that high bandwidth cache thing even works, if it does i wont have the problems i had with my 290x and 4850, where the gpu is vram starved/bottlenecked

custom loops are expensive, the full loop costed me about 300$ in total, but then again i wasn't really on a budget, im pretty sure you could get a full custom loop for about $200

Well as long as you get like 6 years out of the pump it may be worth it but only if you run a high end card with a shit load of cores that generates a bunch of heat. Something like 1080ti begs for open loop so keep it pegged at 2150mhz. Vega will too but I expect the high end ones to ship with an AIO. I don't think vega is going to be mind blowing but I think it will be similar to the 8800gtx in that it will be the start of a new thing for the company just like zen. The generations following Vega and zen are hopefully going to fix the pc parts market by being competitive

I swapped out those red G.Skill ram sticks for black G.Skill ram sticks just a couple of days ago. Otherwise, the rig is the same. As much as I absolutely love the silence of those Noctua fans, I am really starting to hate the color. I really want to swap them out for some black and white fans.

Only the CPU fans are Corsair, I have Noctuas all over the case and my Cryorig uses Noctuas.
It is a beautiful card. I love it.

I improved your build, here

4670k + fury nitro. upgrading to 1600 next weekend.

bump

Just waiting to see what AMD drops in the gpu market so I can keep my freesync capability. If it's shit I'll go Nvidia

Toasting in typical guts bread

>4690k
>to 1600
>upgrading

this chip is shit. crashes at 4.2ghz with 1.25v.

It's ok so does the 1600

Will still run better than clock speed meme
Shillfags stuck in pre-update march

>reviewer results all over the place
>picks the highest
>still not a 1600
never change AMDumbfucks

Your air inlets are so clogged that you are beyond the point of safely blowing the dust away. Vacuum those clumps of dust first, then compressed air.

but it does so with 2 more cores and 3 times the number of threads. i can live with that. also, it gives me an excuse to stick one of these on my case.

decided to test the peak compute of my GPUs today, both were able to hit 7.2TFLOPS so that was pretty cool

Retorts with some shitty insult or rhetoric
Get some better stats ahmed, oh wait there is none

Selling the case in 5 days
Not even God can stop me now
I will have to figure something out for next case though Sweet jesus the dorms are filthy

1070 soon.

>ahmed
the fuck are you on about

1st for silver case master race.

what snuff porn is this from?

Nice case layout and loop.

> Nothing can really rival a 4850 - > 290x -> vega
Pretty much.
I got the 7970. I couldn't really wait another gen, and the 7970 was a huge leap as it was.

Still good enough to last me today, but the 290x is still great today.

4690k isn't one of the SKUs with hyperthreading, fucktard.

>any year ever
>caring about cable management
>talking about thermal properties of wires being in the way
>muh airflow

kek

Just go for it. Enjoy your amd buttfucking while driving down the price of superior intel chips. Your loss, my gain.

1700 running at 3.6ghz/1.116v.
32gb RAM running at 2400hz (hoping to see increased stability with BIOS updates.)

Like the support user.

Nice and neat. Powerful without taking up too much space, vnice.

Wow a custom loop without bright LEDS and a cum reservoir, looks good.

Classy.

looks cool though

Hopefully once i get a new phone ill be able to take a better picture.

Nice gpu support bracket i have the exact same one i love it.

these sexy af desu

...

whats with the 1000w psu?
not shitty, just curious, since it looks like your rig would be wine with a 500-600w psu

I won worst cable management and worst case now

I'm seriously considering on cutting some of that aluminum away and jerry rigging some space for one more front fan and new hard drive mounting too

i got it for very cheap.

massive aspie intel shill

I think I have you beat.

That's the HAF 912, isn't it, the same as I have? I don't like how there is so little space on the backside, I can barely get the door on.

only on cable management, your motherboard has a lot more room to stay and you can have 120mm exhaust fans and 120mm tower coolers while I can only use at most 92mm fans

Cry me a river AMDrone

try again detective

will post when get home
can only get ram to run at 2600
ltsb is having problems with it for some reason

>when you use noctua indy ppc and white anti vibration for your rad and nzxt stock fans for case
life is good

>can't use high speed ram
Ryzen?

yeh
1700
put at 3.9 could put it higher but don't want to
already had to cmos it when I tried 3200
other than that best proc I've owned. Searches tripcodes for 8ch like a beast

>could put it higher
you really couldn't, sometimes memory restrictions can actually be signs of a bad overclock
>can't use high speed ram
>b-but it's the best processor I've ever owned it's great for searching tripcodes on 8ch
jesus fuck

...

Think I need a new fan to color coordinate?

How are the temps in a case that small?

Is that a micro ATX motherboard in a mid tower? Ew. Also why do you have a 1kw psu for single gpu?

Anyway, anybody know a good amount about case lighting? I like the look of my pc but all I can really see through the window is the GPU and 212evo. What's a good way about going about it? Led strip along the rim of the window or something?

Jesus. At least your airflow looks adequate.

The CPU has been delidded and is undervolted. It hits 80-81C on prime95. So it gets hot, but I've got it stable and running fast.

the temps are guaranteed to be shit. there are small cases that offer good thermal performance, e.g. ftz01, but tards will buy undersized cases because they are stupid. how the fuck does it make sense to buy a case so small you need an external power supply?

I prefer the smaller footprint on my desk. I don't get thermal throttling so I'm not sure why I would need any better temps than what I get now.

yeah i can see from the pic how you're really hurting for space on your desk. where do you have the power supply that it dangling around doesn't bother you?

Yup lots of free space on my desk, it's great. The AC adapter is on the ground under the desk, may find a way to attach it to the bottom of the desk, but haven't decided yet.

>I'm seriously considering on cutting some of that aluminum away and jerry rigging some space for one more front fan
If you have 3 free 5.25 bays you can fit a 120mm fan there

it's pretty snug

the hsf isn't on right senpai, it should be square on the socket

that case is a nightmare designed by retards, I need to cut off all those unused bays if I want to do anything else in there

I'll probably change the drive cage orientation if I can too, but I'll probably need some soldering equipment, because everything is bolted on there, the only stuff with screws are the side panels and the front panel

Of course if I could afford I'd change the case, but it's too expensive, so i'd have to settle for other retardedly designed ones, which I don't want to

PS: I'm in monkeyland, where everything costs twice more

>gay fucking rod ruining everything
Please die.

>monkeyland
UK?

no, imported electronics here have 100%+ government tax on them

tl:dr Hueland, Brazil

buy used and ask the seller to mark the value as $1, I ship old Toyota parts around the world like that for people

It is a micro atx case Mastercase Pro 3. Also got it for very cheap.

>monkeyland
I'll be honest with you, thought you were talking about Africa

Nice fake filename you fucking pleb piece of shit.

>fake filename
what the fuck are you talking about

not him, but the filename follows a simple sequence "1234512(...)", while the filenames of images and webms downloaded from Sup Forums are non sequential, they are unix time stamps, so he's pointing out that the filename on that picture is human made

Yeah I spammed the numpad

I finally did it.

I cable managed. You made me a cable manager.

I feel filthy.

This is the old picture.

That's really not that grea-

GOOD FUCKING GOD

Those coolers just do not exist any more in any color but black and white. The other colors are so nice and unique that I have no idea why phanteks isn't doing more to produce them. I haven't seen any in stock anywhere for the months that I have kept an eye out for them

looks much nicer

I bought two of them, one plain alu used (but new). The orange one I got from a shop that was getting rid of phanteks for some reason here in Norway, and sold them with discounts just to get them out.. The silver and black versions sold for about $50-60, and the orange and other colors was only $30, and it was free shipping. Quite a steal :)

Thanks, I'll have to see if I'm even gonna try when my Zen stuff arrives, going in a matx case. With watercooling.

But probably gonna rock this for some time still, mobo is taking forever to get in stock.
Waiting until then to buy the r7 1700 also, hoping to get a newer stepping that overclocks better..

It still isn't that great
samefag?

>Unnecessary LEDs for the HIGH TECH AESTHETIC
You're a living joke.

good for you

>hoping to get a newer stepping that overclocks better.
rumor is apu launch might have better stepping, no Idea how that affects others though.

What is this case???

؜Nice build

...

running 3200 with the 1800x on k7 without any problems so far actually

have you tried ocing your ram yet?

who /converting everything to h.265/ here with their 8 core beast processors?
