Favorite one yet. Had a 6, it got bent, was a hassle to keep in my pocket. More small high-spec phones plz.

I just bought the new 128GB model (I have like 100GB of songs on Spotify that I keep online (I have money))

It's great. It was an awesome purchase. The main reason why I switched back from Android is the ubiquity of Apple Wallet here in San Francisco (my low end Android phone skimped out on NFC) and because iOS really is just more performant... the amount of times I had apps crash on my (admittedly low end) Android phone was unacceptable. Total junk.

I'm thinking of making the jump from Android to iOS myself, but I'm curious, if you have money why buy a now end Android phone? They're notoriously shit.

>t. iToddler

only poors overpay for things

a couple hundred bucks is still a significant amount of money no matter how much you earn, user.

you do realise main reason to buy iphone se is because of its size, right?

there arent even any android offerings with the same form factor, let alone good ones.

I don't know how people can even use this phone, it's fucking tiny. I can't even use the touch keyboard properly.

>t. manlet

>phones with 1GB of ram, a 5000mah battery, and no screen totally BTFO your iPhone in battery life tests

... good point, user, well done. Really made me reappraise my self

With one hand and your thumb doing everything.

Have a 7, considering selling it and getting an SE. Thoughts? I hate not having a headphone jack and I want to stay with iOS.

That is what I am saying, my thumb is not even big and I can't use the touch keyboard.

That's why you use swype

Just got a 64g Se myself. It's a massive upgrade from my 8g 5c. Went with the Se over the 6 because of battery life. The selfie camera and screen resolution are pretty irrelevant.

Well I don't have one but I have used friends phones.

Is there a jailbreak for the SE that you dont have to renew every 7 days?

>(I have money)
yeah thanks, my paypal is- oh wait, you don't want to share? oh..

uh. fucking finger dexterity?

I recently switched back to iOS from Android 7.0

Honestly, I mist be a fucking casual because I don't really care much about what OS I'm using, and I wasn't rooting, or even ricing my android to a large extent.

iOS is nice, and my friends all like large group messages

It has Twitter, SnapChat, and Instagram, I don't give a fuck (snapchat is the one reason i left blackberry desu)

t. college kid

tl;dr im a fucking no one dont bother listening to me

I'm exactly the same man. I don't care what mobile OS I use. In the end both Android and iOS is good at what it's meant to do. Sure there's minor differences, but they share the majority of their functions and apps needed by 90% of people. Just use whatever you want, who cares.

kek

Mum has one, finally upgraded from her 4S
It's the best looking iPhone yet

objectively better than the 7

I love my SE. I've never been a fan of larger phones. I want something powerful, light, and well made that I can slip into my pocket.

I don't even miss android. For every limitation on iOS, there has been less shit for me to worry about. No crashes, no stuttering, no waiting for updates, no need for a 50 gorillion mah battery because ART and Java are shit. Plus it works wonderfully with my MBP.

t. austist

Why aren't you using that dongle?

Typing is annoying, otherwise perfect.

>tiny screen is a feature

lol I'm not one to typically make fun of itoddlers but you really are cucked aren't you.

low end androids are shit
Not an iOS user but I would definitely get an iphone before a poordroid

the premium brands like S8 are the only decent androids

all chinkshit is a meme

>I just bought the new 128GB model (I have like 100GB of songs on Spotify that I keep online (I have money))

huh? if it's stored online then why do you need 128GB?

This, what's the point of paying for a service like that when you have such storage?

Is this a shill?
Do people shill on this board in general?

There's a really easy way to detect shills: if someone says something nice about a product you don't like, he's OBVIOUSLY a shill, because why would ANYONE do that UNLESS they're payed for it? There's literally no other conceivable reason!

>is it possible for someone to like something from a brand I hate?

>nah it must be shilling

Are you both stupid? The storage is for offline downloads.

I was considering the SE but went with the 7 a few months ago. This was my first ios device and I'm very happy with it.

My girlfriend had an iphone 6, but cracked the screen and dropped it in the toilet. She ordered an SE so I'm curious to see how it is. I've always liked the 5/5S design and I generally like smaller phones.

I loved my SE. Fell out of my pocket while riding my motorbike and some shitskin found it, answered the phone and then decided to just steal it.

Hope you enjoy your paperweight you pleb. Maybe you can pretend it's a working phone so your pleb friends think you aren't so poor.

Because you can't use the storage effectively

???????????

what did he mean by this

And yet, I charge my 6+ every other day and never EVER ran out of battery time.

>a couple hundred bucks is still a significant amount of money no matter how much you earn, user.
No it isn't. Even if you're not super-rich, a $600 phone is basically nothing if it represents only 1/8 of your monthly income (after taxes, of course - because why would anyone ever care about anything else?). My rule of thumb is, if you can buy it on a whim and won't really miss the money if turns out to be shit, than it might as well be nothing.

I hate niggers.

> pays a monthly fee to play DRM-locked locally-stored music
> calls other people stupid

either stream the music to justify your spotify account, or get actual copies and play them without spotify. you are retarded.

Xperia Compact. OnePlus One X, Nexus 4 (oldie), Galaxy line always had a 5" (5.2 I think) for the S line nad 5.5-5.7 on the Note line. There were or are more I'm missing I'm sure with decent specs and build.

Spotify just doesn't have the library same with the rest like Google. Easier and cheaper to just stream my own library through Plex or store locally on the phone.

5.2" and even 5" are too large for hand use.

OnePlus X looks beautiful but has shit hardware and got abandoned by OnePlus after like a week.

Xperias are okay but >sony prices

but I know that we're finally getting sensibly-sized phones now that the no bezel meme is here. 5" screen with no bezel would be absolutely tiny.

OnePlus doesn't make the One X anymore, the nexus 4 is too old to be useful, Galaxy mini used to be a thing but there wasn't a s6 or s7 mini, they probably got replaced by samsung's J series of mediocre android budget phones. Also Sony phones are overpriced tbqh.

>Samsung ever

Hey, you aren't allowed on fucking Sup Forums. Being a sperglord is a prerequisite here.

hahaha, maybe. I am working in IT, like shitloads of other people, and constantly have the question asked to me "what's better" and I just say what I said there. It doesn't matter, just pick whatever you're used to. Pretty sure I've ruffled a few feathers with such a non-committal answer.

>5" too large

You're just wrong, I don't have big hands and I have a redmi note 3 pro 5.5in screen and I love it, I couldn't go back to anything smaller to be honest.

got one a month ago after using android for 5 years, it's good

Think we'll see an updated SE this summer? I really want one.

>asking for 4" phone
>replies with 5 and 5.2" phones
this is why people make fun of android users

>I want something powerful, light, and well made that I can slip into my pocket.

exactly. what some people and apparently manufactures don't understand is not everybody wants a video game console, social media and porn player in their pocket, some people literallt want it to be a phone primarily.....a MOBILE phone...like an accessory, not the focus of your day

based Apple once again does it for the people

nice reading skills (though I did accidentally omit a word there). it's too big for one handed use.

the RN3P is DEFINITELY too big for one handed (t. I had one). I'd love to see how you type with it/reach the top of the screen with just one hand. you have to do those ridiculous shuffling motions.

plus the the phone is made from the meme material aluminum so as you're doing said shuffling motions the thing slips in your hand like a bar of soap. it's not practical for one hand.

two handed? yes it's definitely usable. but once you're used to one handed use (which is very easy with the iPhone SE for example) it feels inefficient. you have to drop whatever you're doing and use both hands just for simple things, unless the phone is resting on a table.

even the iPhone 6/7 (not Plus) are like that, but that's because of the bezelshit. 5" is an ideal size for one handed use once we get rid of the bezel.

Like I said, I don't have big hands and have full access to the keyboard with one hand. Admitedly it takes a while to get used to I couldn't do it at first, but I've had the phone for months and stretching the thumb a bit to reach the top left of the keyboard (I'm right handed) has just become natural. Well worth it for the extra screen space.

Personally I love mine. The only real competition in the "smaller" sized phone market is Sony and because of work I had to pick an iphone.
I wouldn't mind to see a to see Apple make an updated one with a higher res screen or more edge to edge better front+back camera upgrade and keep the headphone jack and it would definitely upgrade.

if you have to stretch to reach the top of the keyboard, how do you pull down the notification center? how do you reach an app's "previous screen" button conveniently located at the top left of the screen?

you first have to slide the phone down so your hand is gripping the top half of the phone. I hated it.

Only iPhone I ever had, coming from Android and holy shit, it's great.

>easy two days battery life
>fast as fuck
>cheap as fuck (compared to other flagships at least)
>actually the size of a phone and not a small TV
>no worries about updates
>stable and doesn't lag, slow down or otherwise do anything annoying
>iOS got all I need and is comfy as fuck
>Continuity if you got a Mac

Only thing I'd fix about it would be faster fingerprint sensor (sometimes it takes 2 sec) and smaller bezels.

I got pretty big hands and 5" is WAY too large. Try using all these phones with one hand in a comfortable position without moving it around constantly.

>with a higher res screen
What for? You won't see any pixels unless you hold it right in front of your face. It'd be a waste of battery.

Isn't the SE just a rebranded iP5 with a higher price tag? I don't get why you idiots want to pay a premium for 3+ year old phones, at least buy a 7 if you really want to suck Tim Cuck's dick.

Well it isn't hard to ask, just my severe autism would like it to be a common resolution like 1280x720 if its using 16:9.
I guess you are right but the bump up in res would be good if there was a VR application.

...

It has the same body, front cam and fingerprint reader but the things that matter are from 6S. Given that even IP6 is still faster than every Android on the market, it's not a bad deal. The lack of competition at that size helps too.

Well, if VR is the aim, 720p would be too low either way besides it'd be ridiculous with a small screen.

Literally a pajeetphone

i got it, tried it for a few months, it was ok i guess but not enough ability to customize, got really annoyed having to deal with the piece of shit that is iTunes any time i want to interface with it.

the only upside to that thing is that it has a 3.5mm (and maybe size).

I should have said I have to stretch the thumb to reach the top of the keyboard with precision, pulling down notification center is easy, much easier to reach the top left of the actually screen with my thumb. I don't HAVE to stretch my thumb to reach the top of the keyboard, but I have to to avoid the bottom webbing of my thumb touching the bottom right of the keyboard, so I have to arc my thumb a little bit. But without having to be careful of keys on the keyboard, I have one handed access to the entire phone with my thumb EXCEPT for literally about 1.5 cm in the top left corner which has not shown to be a problem.

>much easier to reach the top left of the actually screen with my thumb.
I meant much easier to reach the top RIGHT of the screen with my thumb

cnbc.com/2017/02/17/apple-to-start-india-manufacturing-in-coming-months-with-iphone-se-source.html

Probably not for a while. 6s internals for the SE was catch up on their low end, which was previously putting 5 chips in the 5c and discounting the 5s until they ran out of inventory. My theory is that Apple will continue to use their "cheap" iPhone model as a dumping ground for whatever older chip whose production is being ramped down, and is sitting on factory shelves as the new hotness comes out.

Might see an "SE 2" with 7 internals around the time the 7 stops being sold after the 9 comes out and the 8 is second in line, so a year and a bit.

Its basically perfect. I never want Apple to stop making it. If they just improve the specs enough to keep it running well, I'm happy to buy the same chassis for the 5th year too, and onward. Its the peak of design in terms of looks and functionality. I don't like curved edges, and I don't like phones that I can't touch the upper corners with, without the thing almost slipping out of my hand. I have the 64GB SE, I'll be getting the 128GB one when its close to refresh time, where Apple will either axe it or upgrade it's internals again.

>If they just improve the specs enough to keep it running well
This is the best part. Apple will always have a bunch of last or last-last-generation chips sitting in a bin that will still run iOS perfectly well. There's no reason not to put them in a ip5 case (which i bet the tooling for is piss simple and already paid for 50 times over by 5/5S/SE sales) and make some $$$ in the "low end" market segment for basically forever.

Also consider that a few years back Apple was bragging about the efficacy of their recycling program and that dumb robot they set up to tear apart old iphones. May seem like some "look at how green we are don't you feel good about giving us all your money" bullshit, but imagine even cheaper iphones for the developing world, made with "refurbished" (hopefully tested) components. probably not something most of us in the 1st world will get to buy directly, but may find its way in the hands of people in Goatfuckistan or wherever

Fuck outta here with that pleb shit. Android is literal third-world tier

>just my severe autism would like it to be a common resolution like 1280x720 if its using 16:9.
that's retarded and shows that you do not know how iOS does scaling.
you only have 1x, 2x and 3x assets. 1136x640 at 4" is ideal for 2x.
if you wanted 1280x720 you would have to use 3x assets, internally render at 1704x960 and downscale.

How does the SE's camera compare to the iPhone 5, 6 and 7?

Camera is the main thing I want to use it for.

same back camera as iPhone 6s.

It has the same camera as the iPhone 5s, but I believe it has a slightly better front facing camera. The screen and fingerprint sensor are also from the iPhone 5s. The processor is from the iPhone 6s, so you'd only be a year behind if you bought it today.

Nope, the back cam is from 6s. The frontcam is from 5s.

Also screen got better brightness than 5s if I remember it right, only the resolution is the same.

>This is the best part. Apple will always have a bunch of last or last-last-generation chips sitting in a bin that will still run iOS perfectly well. It is great, but I'm only buying this phone for the form factor, not for the price. I just hate how Apple makes devices like this feel less important. I hate how they gimp things if you don't buy their highest end shit. No 2nd gen Touch ID on the SE for example. Its small things but, I'd like to see an SE with the same level hardware as the current flagships, released at the same time at the same event, not some unmentioned bone toss on the side of a little iPad event or something. The SE could probably house an OIS camera without a fugly bump too. Don't really care about Force Touch but it would be nice if they could put it in without changing the display aesthetically. Solid state home button would be easy as fuck too, perhaps even more simple in production. Waterproofing it wouldn't be too hard either I don't think. The only extra panels it has are the top and bottom glass windows on the back but the seams on those are tight as fuck and would easily withstand a meter underwater without letting water in. I just love the SE so much, in my opinion its the ultimate iPhone.

>Also screen got better brightness than 5s if I remember it right

I have both, I think the actual panels they're using are literally identical, just surplus units from the 5S or new orders of exactly the same panel.

> I just hate how Apple makes devices like this feel less important.
It's dirt cheap to make, hence cheap, hence pushing it as a big deal would be bad for the sales of their bigger phones. Although they really jewed out on the Touch ID and front cam. 16GB version in 2016 is nasty too.

My only complaint so far is the pricing.

16GB @ $350
64GB @ $450

Why are they even bothering with a 16GB version? You are basically forced to buy the 64GB version. Base model should be at least 32GB in current year.

Front cam is 1.2MP
Rear cam is 12MP and can shoot 4K video

>Why are they even bothering with a 16GB version?
Companies and cloud cucks buy them. So it makes sense from business POV.

It is the same screen. If you look up how to fix it you will see.

I almost forgot about the fucking retarded icloud storage pricing...

5GB: FREE
50GB: $0.99/MO
200GB: $2.99/MO
1TB: $9.99/MO
2TB: $19.99/MO

So basically if you want to store photos on there you have to upgrade to the 50GB level, $12/YEAR

Personally I keep contacts and IOS app bullshit on icloud and pics on google photos.

Daily reminder that even entry-level $100 android smartphones are miles better than this gay piece of shit with the amount of useful features you get alone.

Android phones let you:
>have real encryption with no backdoors
>download over 100MB over mobile data
>install a third party app launcher and icons
>use it as a flash drive
>share any kind of file over wifi/bluetooth
>torrent via torrent clients in the playstore
>install apps outside the playstore
>modify a few system settings to increase performance and decrease battery drain
>manually control complex camera functions via third party apps
>natively browse files
>view better colors via amoled displays
>browse Sup Forums and natively open webms inside them via third party apps
>extract/browse archives
>add additional phone storage via a micro SD card
>replace the stock battery with a bigger one
>add widgets to your home screen
>access important functions by swiping down

ALL WITHOUT HAVING TO HACK YOUR PHONE

yeah but if you're texting bitches they ain't gonna text back if it's green.

Oh you mean whores who have over a dozen different flavors of STDs and harbor nigger babies in secret?

Nah I'm good.

To be fair, it's pretty similar to Google sans the free tier, which is much more important on Macs these days. It's a shame they don't have something like Google Photos either, it's like they don't want to lock people into their shit after all.

>unironically using icloud

Show me one android phone that's $100, actually no, that wouldn't be fair. Show me one android device that's the price of the SE and can beat it performance wise :^)

Well I don't store photos on there and never take dick pics so

If someone wants to hack my icloud account and steal the phone numbers of my 40 contacts they are more than welcome

Bonus: it shits all over the iPhone 7 plus as well :^)
