>been gone for over 2 weeks
>too lazy to check catalog right now

Did I miss anything important?

I only come here for /cyb/ and /tpg/

...

any cyberpunk interior design inspo?

Hi /cyb/ What have you been up to?

Bump for interest

It's not even cyberpunk but whatever, made snake on a nokia display controlled by rf remote

...

...

so is lc still good? haven't been back since the sale.
and /tech/ seemed kinda ded

Ay thats cool!

I wrote a simple IRC server in python

Neither have I. Been meaning to, though. It's a small site, so it's always moved kindof slow, that's the tradeoff I suppose.

It's slow now that summer is over.

yeah I like it but it's just too slow for me

I've got a shit ton of scrap electronics from a company recently. They all use Atmel XMEGA microcontrollers, so I've been harvesting them in different ways to see what works best. Just recently set one up on an adapter board and got it to connect to Atmel Studio, and I was able to program it and prove that my method of removing them isn't destroying them, so it looks like I'll have a pretty good supply of microcontrollers for free now. I'll post some pics later if anyone is interested.

They have an IRC which is pretty active though.

yeah sometimes go on the lc irc, unless you meant there was another one. feels too hard to barge in there and act like you belong though.

This belongs in a different board. Probably /lit/, /fa/, or Sup Forums.

I sincerely hope you get banned for 72 hours by a reclusive basement janitor.

any cool books movies?

have you seen how long nsfw images stay up in the catalog? This thread will reach 300 posts before any janitor even logs on/

probably won't even last 150 posts before it falls off the board, like most other /cyb/ threads

There was a time a few weeks ago where threads were reaching the post limit pretty regularly, i think it got kinda burned out after a while and thats why there was so long without any threads.

>the year is 2014
not much has changed.

you are cancer

Here's some cyberpunk chunes for a healthy bump

>Kowloon walled city

What's current day equivalent to Kowloon that too is tightly spaced, inhabited by tens of thousands and VERTICAL? Being vertical is extremily important.

The closest thing I know is this

>youtu.be/v1p9jlQUW0k

Although it's far from Kowloon levels, they share the same philosophy, their reason to be.

If I recall correctly the people living in there were reubicated a couple of years ago.

since pcbs are taking their long sweet time to arrive, i tried to add bluetooth to the nixie display im working on and well, it works.

Wut? /cyb/ has more than likely been on Sup Forums longer than you've been on Sup Forums. Going back at least a couple years to my memory, probably a lot longer.

I sincerely hope a reclusive basement janitor flops his sack onto your face whilst your sleep so you get a slight whiff of musky scrote in your dreams.

This is sick except these people can barely buy basic food not very /cyb/

This is sick except that the tube and the LEDS can barely shine with all that ambient light not very /aesthetic/

gpunk is far more active right now. Lain has been pretty slow recently

Noice! Were you the one working on your own board design? I put my nixie project on hold because I just had a child so I don't have time to finish prototyping.

Pic related.

But I am working on my neon sign project for now. Just got my printer and my parts are fitting up quite well. This is my prototype of the arcade sign, but I think I'm going to make an FM-84 sign first for simplicity sake.

There are other chans that specialize in it. But if you actually do customize some tech and don't just post pretty pictures it can fit on Sup Forums

Not going to 404 on my watch.

sexy

Reminder that cyberpunk is for delusional faggots

thanks, i set tube brightness quite down just for testing purposes, LEDs are just to see how the microcontroller outputs are being activated, not part of the final prototype. i'll try my best to keep it as A E S T E T H I C as possible.

yeah its me, china manufacturing on the pcb seems to be very nice quality, just fucking slow to deliver.

I'd love to learn how to SMD to try another prototype like yours, sweet job mah boy.

>pic
y o o o o
Nice

made it forever ago, but never got to use it/

Just get some cheap PCBs off ebay and some SMD bits and pieces and practice. It would probably be easier to use solder paste, but it's sort of expensive and expires quickly.

anyone know what happened to lainchan?

Kalyx sold it, and it's still super slow. Other than that, not much has happened.

Its been down for hours. Is it dead bros?

I'm currently writing a cyberpunk short story but I'm having trouble making a certain key story component plausible.
In the story, this happens:
The world's third largest aviation megacorp maintains an lightly regulated, hypercapitalist business plan that involves selling more jet airliner seats than they actually have. This process is wholly legal thanks to insurmountable, over-the-table campaign contributions. This business plan usually works out well, thanks in no small part with government collusion that frequently causes customers to miss and/or be late for commercial and/or recreational air transportation. But then the situation backfires when, in order to squeeze extra money out of the business model, the megacorp tries to squeeze their own wageslaves onto a crowded flight. Despite the megacorp's offer of several hundred dollar's worth of megacorp-backed travel credits, none of the passengers want to leave. In order to solve this crisis, the megacorp requests the services of paid-off government musclemen to bump off an Asian salaryman. However, due to the interconnected nature of the near-future, internet-like Matrix, the story goes viral like a case of lab-grown Ebola substitute. The story then follows the hour-by-hour life of a Public Relations Joeboy for the megacorp as she tries to contain a situation far above her paygrade.

Anyone here have any piratebox experience? Having some issues modifying the landing page, because nothing I change in the index HTML will actually change anything on the page, even after a reboot.

Figured /cyb/ would be better suited to help/provide knowledge

How do I go about learning Circuitry?

Pls no. I don't want it to be ded

I'm taking classes at a university. You can always self teach it, but unfortunatley, it will problably always be expensive in terms of equipment to learn. Also components aren't cheap.

Electronic Devices And Circuit Theory 11th Ed., Robert L. Boylestad

Just practice with the book with access to a regulated power supply, signal generator and oscilloscope.

I meant just take a photo with the lights off :S

underrated post

8/10

the thing is that capitalism is eternal and everyone will forget this story in a week

so it is an appropriately rated post because it has been as overlooked as much as reality itself

holy shit it looks like the idiots nuked lain
they're scrambling for a backup in the irc

top fucking kek

oshit

I hope those 3 threads of lains living in vans were saved, I liked those

RIP in piece

I've taught myself how to repair iPhones and got myself a 7 through flipping an old 6

I've been too cybp to afford one at full price so I've never had this much time to play with the software. Its snappy as fuck and I want to do more with it.

Word flow is sexy and I've already destroyed my Android phones. The responsiveness and battery life are perfect for staying productive.

I can get whatever tech o want if I offer an iPhone over cash too. I've already gotten a Taichi 21 and a new monitor too. I didn't think fixing a $20 fucking screen would lead to this much money.

>not backing up religiously
>nuking production code
keking out loud, didn't expect differently.

does /cyb/ have a discord or similar?

Shit I'd read it

dys

...

nice work user

How are you connecting to the irc. Connection is being refused

freenode #lainchan

I picked up a handheld cassette player/recorder at goodwill for like $4 and a few tapes to record on. Microphone quality isn't very good, but it's still pretty cool. Cassettes weren't used much when I was a kid so it's fun to learn about them now

im writting an extensive guide on how to install and run and secure linux box. then im going to create a guide how to build your own secure bootable linux distro

Holy shit I feel old now.

While LC might be down there's still /cyb/ on eight-chan and /cyber/ on endchan. You can check them out.

Sorry to hear about your autism.

Reminder that Cyberpunk is for delusional faggots

infinitychan /cyb/ is nice if slow

LainChan is back but none of the boards are accessible and the radio is fucked.
Hopefully it'll be fully up by the end of the day.

Ghost in the shell remake was pretty sweet eye porn

It looks like they might have to start from scratch, they're talking about new boards and shit. How do you do this?

it was apparently kalyx that did it

wow they actually did lose everything

okay last update, they all all their backups and data on one server, and the old autismo owner kalyx got a reset password and logged in and wiped everything

Jinteki was right
Kalyx is a fag

>nuke it later

Does anyone have a cyberpunk room in real life?

Since Sup Forums is a fast board it takes a bit of effort to keep it going. I like /cyb/ but when it is gone overnight when I need some sleep because someone made yet another few zero response threads it is tricky. I just counted 10 such threads.

>Hi /cyb/ What have you been up to?
I am still working on that FAQ.

In the messed up world of 2017 it is hard to see which part you consider implausible.

the vandwelling threads were the best threads, i agree.

Can someone recommended me some cyberpunk music that's a little less electronic rock and a little more ambient?

>mfw i still collect tapes from obscure industrial bands to this day

Try darkroastedblend.com/2007/01/category-architecture.html

That site has a lot of nice weirdness.

>darkroastedblend
Shit I haven't been to that site in like a fucking decade

Try this one for reference sony.net/SonyInfo/CorporateInfo/History/SonyHistory/1-02.html
>What would be suitable as a tape base or as magnetic material? The Totsuko engineers had to start from scratch. Assuming that any magnetic powder substance would do, they first tried an OP magnet, which had been invented by Dr. Yogoro Kato of the Tokyo Institute of Technology. Ibuka obtained a stick-shaped piece of this material, and Kihara ground it to powder in a mortar for an hour or so. They agreed to coat this powder on an 8mm wide slip of leftover print-out paper from the Hell Schreiber telegraphic machine. "But how can we coat it?," they asked themselves. After thinking about it long and hard, they kneaded cooked rice into a paste and applied the powder onto the paper with the rice paste.

This, my friends, is the early days of a Japanese megacorp.
