can someone help me to install linux? /fglt/ and /sqt/ are useless as fuck. my screen just turns black every time i try to start the installation. same shit with ubuntu, fedora, mint... i already tried the obvious stuff like turning on and off, plug and unplug signal cable...
right now i have a cracked windows 10 working normally. after trying ubuntu on my laptop i want to get rid of windows and move to linux on my pc.

the only thing worse than installing gentoo >is having to re-install gentoo
Julian Jackson
you enabled CSM in your BIOS?
Levi Cox
turn off safe boot and if that doesn't work, use another bootable usb maker
Gavin Jackson
googled it. still no idea how to enable it cant find anywhere with CSM written in. i have legacy USB support enabled i will try this
Wyatt Harris
CSM is also known as Legacy Mode, Legacy BIOS, BIOS Mode. Also nomodeset. Press Tab on that second screen in your pic you dumbfuck. And then follow whatever result you find in google. If you cant even manage this i dont know how you'll keep up in the partitioning page.

Looks like it's cranking your brightness up at that point of the boot which sometimes can be flipped on Linux depending on your hardware i.e. 100% will be 0%
When you get to the point that the screen is blank try pressing the Brightness - key on your keyboard.

What graphics card do you have? Most distros don't suppose Pascal by default so you have to use integrated to install if you have a 1050-1080 or Titan
Jordan Thomas
nice! it progressed a bit further after i added nomodeset. but it is stuck in pic related. i have no idea how to change that
Christian Perez
fuck this shit. ill try ubuntu. is there a nomodeset for ubuntu? because i had the same problem there as well.
Mason Fisher
welp. ubuntu doesnt even give me the option to do nomodeset. it goes straight from the purple background to a black screen.
Anthony Cook
when you see the little square icon at the bottom of the purple screen press enter, then you can press f6 (i think) to get some options. nomodeset is there
Jose Wilson
alright lads, i did it.
Angel Green
i did something else. the boot menu of asus had another option for the usb flash drive. picked that and it gave me a black menu instead of the purple background. i edited the nomodeset in it and it took off!
Daniel Edwards
welp. after i installed successfuly i had to restart because it asked me to do it. now it has the same problem in all the possible choices. i tried pressing enter and f6 but from there i have no idea what to do. the cruzer force options are for the usb flash drive. i tried the rest and i keep getting BLACKED

You're fucking Retarded.
Michael Williams
fucking input cable was the reason for this mess. i took an hdmi to hdmi cable from my mom and now everything works.
Hunter Cruz
I'm going to jump in here with my own problem that I can't seem to fix. I'm trying to make a persistent SD drive with Linux Mint, and everything works fine up to a point. I can install mint onto the drive, boot into it, and then complete the actual Mint install, including setting a memory partition for it, but once I reboot I get a kernel panic every single time. Any ideas?
Oliver Cook
> /fglt/ and /sqt/ are useless as fuck making a separate thread won't help either
Noah Parker
fuck you it helped me a lot. i have linux installed on my machine now.
