Should I pre-order this?
Should I pre-order this?
no
But why?
this is literly the macbook air with different branding.
Supports linux
So does the XPS 13, and it's not sold by an unknown brand.
>3200x1800
>literally the macbook air
fucking kill yourself
They only put Linux on it for gullible Linux users to buy since it comes with Linux preinstalled so it must be good.
>preordering hardware
It's like you want problems
Yes, I would buy 3; one for yourself, one for your wife's son and one for your gay lover.
I would then buy an apple themed back sticker so you won't disgrace yourself when you're cruising for man bottom in Starbucks.
Now fuck off.
Ask me how I can tell that you're deep in the closet.
I'd rather get a T460 for $700
You're so right, I'm wanking over a Tom Hardy TV advert right now.
Now fuck off.
But is it retina?
I don'y think so poorfag
it's beyond retina
it's bordering on optic nerve
>System 76
>unknown brand
Hello newfriend.
I'm interested but waiting for reviews. I'm primarily concerned about the battery life since there isn't an option to fill the 2.5" slot with extra battery like I thought there would be.
Nice.
looks neat but isnt system76 known for horrible build quality?
>3200x1800
>TN panel
top kek
is this true?
into the trash then how could they fuck up like this
Price? That's the only thing that matters, otherwise we all would have macbook pros with a different operating system.
They've typically sold spec-focused Clevos in the past with all but one of their laptops being plastic. Now that they're a bit larger they seem to be shifting to more quality devices. Either way "horrible" seems like an exaggeration
Source? I don't see any mention of the panel type which would normally make me assume TN but I've never head of a hiDPI TN laptop panel.
if it was IPS panel they would have surely mentioned it
>omgubuntu.co.uk
>With a 13.5-inch HiDPI IPS display
Seems to just be a lacking description
>trackpad in middle of screen
Into the trash it goes.
>4k
is it 4k or 3200x1800?
I can vouch for them, posting from a system76 lemur. I added a solid state drive to mine though, once you go SSD you can never go back.
Although it comes with Ubuntu getting any other distro to work is trivial (even distros like Arch for people who enjoy troubleshooting)
You can configure it here
3200x1800
The naming scheme switch has been awful in regards to people saying the wrong shit all the time. See also
>Calling 2560x1440 2k
>Calling 3440x1440 3k
>People who insist that 3840x2160 isn't 4k because the cinema standard is different
>rebranded chink shitbook from aliexpress
hello Zhang, 15 yuan were deposited to your weechat account
1280x720 is HD
1600x900 is ???
1920x1080 is FullHD
2560x1440 is QHD
3840x2160 is UHD
4096x2160 is 4K
it isn't that hard to remember
there is no such resolution as 2K or 3K
*TV
I'm aware, but a ton of people incorrectly try to apply the new Xk naming scheme to older resolutions and fuck it up in the process.
>3840x2160 is UHD
>4096x2160 is 4K
Oh god not this again.
Are you simply saying that 3440x1440 doesn't exist because you don't believe in it?
As you can see, he didn't add any 21:9 resolutions in.
3440x1440 is a made up resolution
not a standard one
All resolutions are made up resolutions.
>open up the display resolution changing dialog
>post screenshot of available resolutions
those are the standard ones
meme aspect ratios do not count
>he thinks trackpad should be on the side on a laptop with tenkeyless keyboard
>meme aspect ratios do not count
What are competing standards, Not everything needs to be 16:9
Ryzen is the new standard, user. Anything not Ryzen is obsolete: It's cheap, it performs as good as enthusiast CPUs and it consumes less power.
Software compilation needs a good CPU and that's why you should build your own desktop. However if you HAVE to buy a laptop NOW I guess you could buy it
Not bad, I might get one, but pre ordering is for idiots.
>ryzen in a laptop
I never, ever thought I would say this, but... These people need a fucking marketing team.
What the hell is that image.
>try to plug in usb without looking
>laptop shuts off
>Has both a microSD and SD card slot
Why.
>you are sure to be the talk of the office.
Holy shit lol
>Woah how did you get management to give you a Macbook?
>I-it's not.
>those gigantic bezels
Is this a joke?
Looks like we have System76 shill here again.
Buy from Clevo/Sager, they offer the exact same laptops, without the $200 extra for someone to pre-install Ubuntu for you.
Is BSD a possibility? I'm looking to get a new laptop soon and I would like to have Free/Dragonfly BSD or at least Gentoo.
>1600x900
HD+
>3200x1800
QHD+
System76 is unknown? They are the most well known Linux vendors by far.
>pre-order
why would you pre-order anything?
>that huge ass logo on the back
aaaaahhhhhh no
So can we say it's a 13 inch laptop with a 15 inch footprint? How the fuck is sager and clevo still in business?
>actually has Ethernet port
if it is garbage, where can i buy the non chink shit version?
Cheap gaming laptops mostly.
Macbooks have terrible hardware. People only buy them because they are poor.
>Allows 2 hard drives
>Ethernet port
>microSD card slot
if only it had a dedicated gpu and a non U series cpu I would buy one.
Where can I get more such drawings?
>
>So does the XPS 13, and it's not sold by an unknown brand.
I bought a laptop from them and it's the best computer I've ever owned other than it being overpriced clevo with a custom bios and a few mods still they have good customer service and you don't have to see a stupid windows key
Yes, but it doesn't change the fact they're selling overpriced Clevo barebones.
Buy directly from Clevo/Sager, or any reseller with good prices, and install Linux yourself.
>Everything comes from China
Welcome to the 21st Century
Why the fuck would I buy this over one of Lenovo's thinkpad offerings
