I received a free VPS from a friend but it's useless to me (my clients already give me servers) and I want some gambling money so I'll give it away for 5$ in bitcoin

Hey guys! Nobody was quite autistic enough to give feedback on r*ddit or /pcbg/ so i was hoping you guys could help me out. I'm planning on building an LGA 1356 server for rendering. I have storage lying around already, so that's not a problem. How's this build sound?
It takes 30 seconds at most to Google and remove that message, dude. Proxmox is fantastic. Don't be a dick for no reason.

and you have to do it every update, fuck that shit

Have you considered a Ryzen 5-1600 instead of going with Xeons? Not shit posting or wanting to start a meme intel v amd thread. It is a legit question.

the mother board supports the CPU, and it's able to run that RAM full speed, the PSU is giving enough power to all of this. I think it's a good build but I'm not expert.

???
Incredible free software that gets frequent updates and you have to spend 30 seconds at most each update editing out a popup message if it bothers you?
Are you actually fucking retarded?

Part of the reason I'm doing this is because I want to mess around with home server level stuff. PC building is something I enjoy doing and I'd like to learn how to build and operate larger scale stuff. I figure I can make up some of the costs at least by renting out compute power (i have done no research on that but i have a lot of friends who make and edit video so charging them five bucks or whatever wouldn't be too hard) tl;dr: cheaper RAM, shits and giggles Thanks, user!

user.. you might be overselling it a little

Is an RPI 2 strong enough to run FreeBSD with ZFS?

It simplifies managing a hypervisor to retard levels so that anyone with even a basic level of Linux knowledge can have a home virtualization server.
I'd call that pretty fucking incredible when it's 100% free of charge.

>discord instead why don't you host a riot server on your home server for us? software as a service needs to die.
Lucas Mitchell
we could do this, it's a good idea

>discord Why don't Sup Forums make irc channels anymore. They were cozy, and used a lot less RAM. Sup Forums is using too much RAM these days.
