are the 2tb usb 2.0 flash drives on wish worth the $10? I don't have cash on hand for 8tb worth of rotary drives and a case+mobo+cpu as a backup, and $40 seems hella cheap for 8tb that I can easily keep as an off-site weekly/monthly backup.
Kayden Martin
Dell Inspiron 15 5000 series would be a good start. They're not the lightest but they're cretainly not a brick. Asus also has some good offerings, though their cheaper stuff is kinda flimsy.

Is there a hack to download that updates Windows 10 Home to Windows 10 Pro?
Aaron Hernandez
Ya it's called installing Windows 10 pro
Mason Kelly
I already have windows 10 home. It says I can input a product key to upgrade to pro on my home edition.
Is there a hack where I don't have to give money to the world's largest company?

I personally think so, but when i use a flash drive or portable hard drive, im nore worried about if the hard drive will crash or not, and not read/write speeds

Why is it that opening the same file in both Media Player Classic and VLC will show different runtimes? Pic related. I downloaded VLC just to check if it was actually because of the media players.
I'm trying to use a program called Syncplay to watch shows with friends but its a bit of a problem if the runtimes are different between us. (I use MPC and friends use VLC) Anyone know whats going on here?
Jackson Butler
There's actually a neat trick where you can take a win7 pro key and upgrade it to 10 pro, provided you already have 10 installed. afk a second, but will find a link for you if you don't find it yourself before I get back.
Carson Ramirez

You can't do that why are you so against reinstalling?

Because the option to not reinstall is available.

Guys I got a big problem and I'm not sure what to make of it.
I think I have a virus but I have scanned every bit of my computer with Kaspersky anti-virus, malware bytes and the adware tools. I have use that shark tool to look at my network traffic and didn't see anything out of the ordinary.
This is what my computer does, randomly on Sup Forums when I try to type in a quick reply or in the message box and as soon as I use my mouse it will either randomly grab a captcha(like you are moving something) or it will grab a Sup Forums tab and then try and paste it. Now it only seems to happen with Sup Forums stuff but I think in the past it had happen with other links as well.
If this has had happen to any of you guys and its the sites is being faulty, please let me know because I'm about to nuke my SSD.
so tl;dr when on Sup Forums mouse randomly grabs captcha or Sup Forums tab and tries to paste it(not sure what kind of virus would do that)
Robert Perez
But it's not what is hard to understand here? You either pay them for the upgrade or you reinstall they are not going to let you download the upgrade from their servers for free

I have an old gaymen desktop with a Phenom II 965, 8GB of RAM, and a 650 watt power supply. The video card went ded (Radeon 5830 HD) and a friend of mine is offering to sell me his GTX 970 for $150. My questions are:
1. Is that a decent price for a used 970? 2. What will I lose by putting a pci-e 3.0 card into a 2.0 slot? 3. What kind of problems can I expect booting into Win7 with an Nvidia card?
Carson Butler
>What's a reliable external harddrive brand? The one you back up. Use your warentee to get a replacement
Sup Forums might just be the thing that gets effected most because I type on it so much.
I use my credit card and SS# for financial assistance. I don't think I can use a virtual keyboard for the rest of this computers life.

I am trying to set up hypervisor on a desktop PC running windows 7 64bit, running the hypervisor off an external drive. I have set up a static IP and tested it to make sure it actually pins, which it does, but whenever I try to log in to the host I get unknown connection error.
Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to install additional software (like server 2012)?
Austin Richardson

Your computer has two ip. One facing lan and the other wan.

I installed the esxi 6.5 iso on a external usb hard drive. Whenever I try to log in via the client (which is apparently not supported anymore?) or the web client I get the error message "unknown connection error" or "site can't be reached" when trying to connect through the browser. I've run the network test in esxi menu and it pings normally.
Am I just being super retarded and I can't run this off of a local hard drive? Am I going to have to build a separate desktop server just to run this shit?
Jack Hernandez
None they can't be trusted, only plebs use vpns.
Patricians own vps in privacy friendly country, encrypt with luks and dmcrypt and enable dropbear for boot then dynamic ssh through that to remain private. Just saying...
Thomas Jones

James Garcia
What about the dns? I am using the same one that my desktop is using for now
Jason Fisher
God no. Use Veracrypt.
Christopher Jones
Yes it is. Don't listen to verashills.
Matthew Reed
You don't need to worry about dns for your server since you literally know the ip it's on.
I'm still not too sure what you're doing and how you've gone about doing it.
Carson Lee
I installed esxi 6.5 on an external hard drive. It's connected to a desktop running windows 7 64bit
I configured the ip address as static and basically used the same dns and gateway addresses as my desktop
I ran the network test and it pinged everything normally
But when I tried connecting via vsphere client I got the "unknown connection issue" message. I changed the ip of the host several times but this didn't fix the issue.
Then I learned that the client is no longer supported by 6.5 so I tried logging in by just typing the host ip address into chrome but got a "this site can't be reached" message.
I tried disabling the firewall but this didn't do anything either
Robert Murphy
What's the best Android emulator for Windows? is Nox good?

I have an external sata hard drive that I mounted one of those docking stations. Said docking station is connected via usb to my main desktop that is running windows 7. Said sata drive is where I installed the ESXI client.

ok so you installed vsphere, which is the client. esxi is the host os.
is the host on same subnet, does it respond to pings, and have you tried https?
Daniel Turner
Vivaldi
Joseph Ortiz
>is the host on same subnet, does it respond to pings, and have you tried https?
Yes and yes; they are literally on the same box. I tried changing the ip of the host multiple times. Every time it pings successfully but I cannot connect to it via the client on via httpw
Sebastian Adams
>they are literally on the same box esxi is an os unto itself m8, if you installed it to an external drive and didnt't boot from said external drive, theres your problem.
it's a server os, not a server software like filezilla.
Levi Rodriguez
So I would basically need to build a server with said hard drive in order to connect to it?
Jeremiah Lee
Hey this is the same guy earlier talking about installing W7 on my laptop. Thanks again for that, but now I'm having the same issue of "no drivers compatible" during startup on my main PC. On my laptop the issue was fixed with using a different USB port but that isn't going to help this time. I looked around other places about AHCI drivers and tried using NTLite, following this guide below. Second link is a source of AHCI drivers from the same thread
I really don't know which one I'm supposed to get or how to tell. A little help? Reminder that this is ultimatex64
William Lewis
Another thing to mention: I already tried working with this like 3-4 times, all of which failed sadly so while I know how to use NTLIte I don't know if I'm doing things right
Jaxson Myers
if you've got the ram and cpu for it, vmware workstation 11 supports virtualizing a hypervisor. otherwise, yes install it on separate hardware

It's time to rethink my ricing. I used to just use the Arc-Darker theme for GTK, then match my colorscheme. What's another clean GTK theme?

>Using a project that stole code then modified it so much they introduced critical vulnerabilities that were able to be exploited for months Truecrypt 7.1a last audit has shown no critical vulnerabilities. I'm getting real tired of morons like you parroting verashit just because it's 'being maintained' by incompetent programmers, who obviously have no ethical conflict ions stealing code
ublock origin is preferable to adblock plus since adblock plus still loads ad content before blocking it, last I heard. There was a decent webm showing pretty convincing proofs but I didn't hang on to it.
Jordan Turner
You shouldn't need to mess with ACHI or NTlite. Are you using an M.2 drive? Have you patched USB 3 drivers?
Caleb Cox
as an addendum, Arc is the only GTK theme I can think of with a decent matching firefox theme...
Jaxson Roberts
Not using M2 drive and haven't done any patching with USB 3 drivers for my laptop. Been trying to do that by myself for a bit now but I'm not having luck
Hudson Scott
I was talking about iOS, there's no ublock for ios for my knowledge. They do however promote Purify app, is that what you meant?
