My sisters old toshiba L-top I was using bit dust. It had seven on it. I don't have much money so I bought this lenovo thingy of a laptop (using now). W-10 on it. Of course everything is different than sis's ole Toshi. I was wanting to know if there was stuff you could turn off to stop a lot of the spying or am I just stuck with being a number and an orange pill.

It's incredibly hard to silence the OS.
Every time I type a letter into the start menu I get TCP output. When I select Windows. And when I type into firefox (search suggestion disabled) before even hitting enter.
Most programs to stop it spying cut down on traffic slightly but it's still talking.

You can get Linux mint on a laptop these days and go through less configuration than debloating windows 10.

I have it on my laptop. Literally the same except for built in f.lux which is handy.

Already went back to 7 ultimate edition. Its super comfy. Nice aero theme. No forced updates. No ads in the start menu.

Its really great living in 2009 i think i will stay there.

Clean installs are great if you don't care about your custom settings and icons

setting everything back the way I like it took me like 15 minutes tops

It adds tab support for explorer. Something that has existed for decades on other operating systems. They are also adding blueshade, which is a meme. It will have 3d tools for office and picture in picture viewing for wmp. Microsoft edge becomes a ebook reader... its fucking nothing pretty much. Whats cool is when you pair your smart phone to your windows device, it locks the pc when you leave the range. So once it stops listing to your shitty phone calls, its like "WTF mang I cant find my target" and locks the screen.

actually, it's all the same settings as before, I didn't see anything new. everything was off for me when it popped up and I never fucked around with any of the advanced "disable telemetry tactics"

Right now you can only update by downloading some tool from mdsn if you have access to a subscription.

I tried using the assistant but it said contact your admin for server and enterprise versions.

os x is any easy way out of bill gates' asshole for people who can't get linux working the way they want to.

Try to be realistic, the majority of people will never manage to get a gpu passtrough working and oob linux is pretty crap performing as a desktop os for your regular gamer.

Same goes for hackintosh, apple laptops are pretty garbage for games and so are their all in ones.

you don't need a gpu passthrough on linux anymore. with things like prime-select or bumblebee you're pretty much set. fancy games work nicely on the higher tier macs too. i mean even so, why wouldn't gamers just stick with win 7? at-least it's easy to disable all the telemetry shit on there.

Actually, what you can probably do is install pro and then change your key to the volume enterprise key.
