Should I buy a PC or attempt to play WoW on my 2015 Macbook Pro Retina 15" 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7, 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB. >inb4 macfag - had to buy it for work >inb4 WoW sucks now - don't care, want to waste time playing it (former addict)
Don't really care about only being able to run 30 fps on it, just worried this thing will overheat or will damage or choke up, don't want to burn it out. All videos/forums say it's fine, but I'm skeptical.
Adam Martin
PCs are better for gaming because the software is much more optimized.
Caleb Perry
i say its fine trust me
Henry Campbell
>will playing wow literally burn my Macbook
Jason James
don't get back into WoW, I was also a former addict and wanted to get back into Legion to waste time and ended up addicted again. don't do it
Brody Parker
it's fucking fine also your pic is a 2011 or something one running it
Nathan Davis
Don't care am giving up on life anyway. What you game on?
Jacob Martinez
Yes, this is actually exactly what I'm asking
Alexander Wright
it's a game from 2004. Fuck off
Liam Harris
I literally googled MBP/WoW for a quick pic, what do you want from me
Luke Morgan
stupid fucking macfags i swear...
Kayden Cook
You will be fine. You can download the game and try it.
If the laptop gets too hot... stop.
>Belf is best race, all other races are trash
Christopher Turner
You could buy a desktop, but a macbook will run wow just fine.
Carter Stewart
No, because in worst case cpu will just throttle and shut off before reaching critical temp.
Fucking macfags.
Noah Nguyen
thanks user. when I used to play, my main was a blood elf lol.
Jordan King
thanks, user. Yes, I'm a macfag, which is why I came here to get your opinion. So ty. Seriously.
Sebastian Ortiz
That Mac, and most others, are built with an AMD Raedon GPU. It's a pretty pathetic GPU. Most games require a lot more power than what the Mac AMDs can handle. You can either spend another $1000 easily on an external GPU for your Mac, or get a PC with a GeForce GTX card. I'm fenced on that very decision myself friend.
Lucas Phillips
why get another PC when your mac clearly runs the game just fine?
Thomas Perry
it's a tough one, huh
Hudson Parker
of course it will get hot every laptop get's hot when gaming doesn't mean it will fucking explode though holy shit
Cameron Perry
IT'S WOW YOU DON'T NEED A 1000$ GPU TO PLAY WOW
Elijah Morris
>doesn't mean it will explode though Older Macbooks did actually overheat so badly, that the battery would get disfigured/start bulging from overheating. I used an older Macbook (2008, IIRC), and it would get too hot to put on my lap if I played games on it.
OP's concern is valid.
Benjamin Sanders
TY user
Thomas Sanchez
I don't believe any current laptops have the issue where GPUs would literally burn out so you're fine there. All that could possibly happen is that it'll turn itself off if shit's getting too hot, but if you buy a cooling pad you should be fine.

I have a 2013 macbook air that I used to raid on during legion before I got bored and quit.
Levi Gomez
He's running on a 2015 MBP, not a 2008 though. I used to play L4D2 on my 2011 MBP that i'm typing this on just fine.
Christian Lee
That machine is probably good enough for a game from 2004.
Gavin Bennett
nah, it will be fine. I have the 2015 model with the M370X and the 2.5GHz i7 which probably runs a lot hotter than yours under load. I've run games way more intense than WoW without any issues aside from fan noise.
Are you going to run the games in macOS or Windows? I dual boot Windows 10 Pro and Sierra and in my experience games always run better in Windows 10.
Caleb Bennett
I'll prolly run Windows then. Thanks, user
Carter Carter
From what I've heard raids are when it doesn't run smoothly for MBP
