You should also be aware that it's quite small. (slightly smaller than an original SNES controller) Moving from an Xbox or PS-style controller to it needs some adjustment.

Remember you also need a spare XLR to XLR cable for this supply to work. You'd connect an XLR to the microphone, XLR into the power supply then XLR out and 3.5mm into your PC or laptop. There's a free XLR to 3.5mm in the box with the BM-800 so don't worry about that.
If you want a cheap audio interface either buy a cheap Behringer mixer/interface or go used. Depending where you live there's going to be dozens of used interfaces as musicians upgrade and sell their equipment a lot. A few people on /csg/ have managed to pick up really expensive mixers and interfaces for peanuts with some patience.

It doesn't have as great a sound quality as a full 48v phantom powered BM-800 but a little trick is that it has two connectors, a USB and a 3.5mm. You can connect the 3.5mm to a USB sound card to provide more power to the mic and up the quality.
This is true, but the issue is availability. There are few people that make pots in that low, squat style with drainage holes in the US, and the ones that do know they can overcharge because the availability is low. So you have two options: 1. pay more money for local pots, and 2. pay for the cheaper imported pots, which still have price increases because of the shipping cost and the distributors' knowledge of the availability of what they're selling. In most cases you're either buying from a small local dealer that specializes in bonsai, or online (if you find pots in your local garden center, they're most likely bottom-of-the-barrel chinese shit for people that will keep a plant for like a couple weeks before it dies).
