>$ 89 for a comfy 11 incher

hell yeah, just put myself on the queue

So that's basically a raspberry pi in a laptop?
Wouldn't a $150 chink laptop with a cherry trail and 1080p screen be much better?

>no sad

what

Wow.
Holy shit.
This looks comfy as fuck. When is it going to get released?

apparently the drivers barely work and will not receive any updates in the future

ARM? Nothing works on it. Only has like 10% of all Linux programs.

Depends how shit the screen is.

Enjoy only ever being able to use a single kernel version ever and otherwise having shit support.

after i seen this i was actually thinking that raspberry pi might come out with their own 64-bit laptop since they released the pixel os for 64

pine is basically a raspberry pi rival

zdnet.com/article/89-linux-laptop-check-out-the-new-pinebook-from-raspberry-pi-rival-pine/

But, can it run crysis?

Gentoo does not have that problem.

xD

who /in queue/ here?

How good is the build quality? How shit is the screen?

linux support on those is shit usually

Come back from whence you came, reddit.

fucking cakey

It does when the hardware support doesn't exist anymore. These devices are crap that don't work properly. Don't be suckered in.

>11.6" or 14" TN LCD (1366 x 768)
Dropped

Also 10000mAh battery.
With that low power ARM CPU I'd expect it to last for days on single charge and if it turns out to be the case then I'll probably get myself one just to have in my bag as mobile terminal.

Gentoo does not have that problem.

30 day warranty. How do you think the build quality is?

Do you understand how the linux kernel works? lol
You can still run modern software on a Power Mac G4 running Debian powerpc

Sort of

The rasberry pi has 1gb or ram and this one can have up to 2gb

It should be a really good webmachine

>linux distro by default or android
found the tech illiterate

Android is butchered linux.

And the guy who made the mini computer worked with apple on some of their first computers

How does the queue work? General availability starts when?

>30 days warranty
what did they mean by this?

I'm guessing he meant "SSD" (solid state drive)

Can it play Youtube at 720p straight from the browser?

got the email to buy one....thinking about it.....Remix OS will be any good on this? thoughts?

If it was actually a raspberry pi in a laptop it might be worth it, but instead it'll be like this

>see the prices
>see the specs
>laugh and go back to work with my Dell Latitude E6420 quad core i7 w/Quadro I got on craigslist for $100

You idiots, I mean really.

When did you get in the queue?

Teach me your ways senpai.

>Wouldn't a $150 chink laptop with a cherry trail and 1080p screen be much better?

link? I'd like to get something like this to travel europe with

That's like a 7 pound laptop that runs hot as fuck, especially with the gpu.
This is a cute little EEEPC successor
I just wish it was an atom and not a shitty arm chip.

oh jeez, I signed up for it, a long time ago and got this email this past week. Unfortunately I'm in Tokyo atm, so I haven't done anything yet. Might do it as soon as I get back home though. take a look, pretty basic email...

pt.2

Implying Atomâ„¢ isn't that bad

This laptop is worse than my MacBook with Retina Display in every way

>arm
into the trash

>warranty: 30 days
Hahahahaha

Holy shit

laptops have been under $100 for a while now, you just have to find a deal/sale on something that has an msrp of like 200-250. This thing with its msrp of under 100 is going to be a pile of shit, not worth buying. Prediction: It will be $30-50 a year or two from launch, then it will finally die and fade into obscurity. Screencap this post.

>reboot

Even the screen cost $40 check Alliexpress

2gb ram is a bit on the low side, but for the price it might just be worth it for a portable shitposting/ssh box

$100 for this pile of shit is simply a terrible value. You're getting basically nothing. It's total garbage. This is the difference between being cheap and being frugal. Anyone who buys this is stupid and cheap. Being frugal means buying an X220 for $200. Buying this is just burning $100 for no reason.

get something decent like a c720 for the same price

>Being frugal means buying an X220 for $200

An X220 isn't worth $200 anymore, an X220t maybe, but not the baseline model regardless of spec, maybe $140-160 at best.

i5 e6410 8gb here, it's a nice little Linux machine

can you install loonix on it?

of course

>2 GB of RAM
Into the trash

It uses a pi clone what the fuck did you expect?

It's a web machine with a ton of battery life

pretty much all it's for. basic ass shit.
and for $90 it's not bad. better than a shit Teclast tablet, lasted me 5 months. IMO.

>pretty much all it's for. basic ass shit.

Well...Yeah.

I assume this is intended for developing markets? I expect it will be popular there but I can't imagine many Westerners being interested.

>probably not even OpenGL support
>1,2GHz unnamed SoC
ewww

Can it run Minecraft Multi-fetish Interracial Trap AI Hentai Anal Cuckold Ultra Porn Mod at 60fps 1440p? Then yeah sure.

I have literally no use for it. There's nothing this thing will do better than my 2010 MBP or my X200s so why even bother?

Lmao no. I actually made my Pi as a mini desktop.

I could run mpv, livestreamer, watch FHD videos just fine. compton was smooth as hell on LXQT. Hell, I even completed some of my programming assignments (C++ and some shitty Java GUI projects).

My point is, no. Most of the things you need can be run on it. You just need a hella fast SD card and not try to do anything that won't fill up the RAM.

I'm using Arch Linux ARM, by the way.

>waiting 10 months to get a cheap shitty laptop
>by the time you actually receive your order something better will already have been released

Just buy a Chromebook for $150, flash BIOS, and install Linux flavor of your choice. This pinebook is going to be a huge flop. As all arm based laptops usually are. Can't believe people get excited of this nonsense.
