it is literally the most stable OS you will ever encounter once everything is compiled and setup the way you like. no need to ever upgrade anything on it either, as it's completely self-healing. no other lignux, and no other OS has shit on gentoo.

I installed it on my first computer at the advice of Sup Forums in like 2006 or 7, a Celeron(p4) 2.4ghz with 512mb ram and a 40gb hard drive. It took a whole day. Anything to get a bit more performance out of it.
