HDMI vs Viewport

trying to build a new pc with multiple monitors but i constantly find video cards with only one HDMI port and 2-3 viewports.
Is it worth it to buy one with viewports and buy viewport monitors or hdmi-viewport adaptors?

Not OP, but is this a dumb question? I've always wondered as well.

Is this the new desktop thread?

>viewport
You mean DisplayPort. And just get an adapter.

Ah. DisplayPort. I see now.

hdmi is licensed and proprietary while display port isn't

it is now.

These are the wrong video cards, DVI/HDMI is superior. Also avoid anything AMD, the drivers are crap.

Hijacking the thread for a quick second. Is DVI good? I want a third monitor but only have a DVI port left on my GPU. Amazon sells those DVI to HDMI cables.

you mean displayport?

amd drivers are great at least on windows.
on linux they broke my ubuntu installation.

The last time I saw a good ATI Windows driver was 1992

>Is DVI good?

What kind of retarded question is that? DVI is literally the same as HDMI, signal-wise. It only doesn't carry audio.

I have a DVI monitor with speakers, can confirm dual-link DVI cable does carry audio.

ignorant cunt.

FTFY

Yea, sorry for the stupid question. Thanks. Maybe there was something about it that was different.
