When I was getting into it I almost completely gave up a few times. I think that it's bad to be serious about "studying" a language. You should just have fun with it and stop giving a shit about learning methods, stupid kanji decks and all that stuff people get trapped into. That way you'll stay motivated.

I've been trying to read よつばと!, play どうぶつの森, and study the Core 2k/6k Deck + Memrise everyday. Progress is slow so I'm trying to maintain long term motivation but it's hard.
